Before I watched the video. When I heard the drivers lineup. I was like Goated. I mean I couldn't really think of a stronger line up. Maybe a Sebastian Job could of a been a solid choice as well
the clutch re-engagement is another unecessary variable I think and why not utilise the engine braking to shorten the braking zone a bit, I'm sure the car is modelled to stop or minimise fuel injection off throttle like real life so I wouldn't think there is much advantage to engaging the clutch. Could be wrong
I personally didn't find it saved me any extra fuel, plus it was a lot harder being consistent driving like that. So I opted to just lift with no clutch.
late reply: there's a checkered flag in the top left (and a white flag for the duration of the last lap) it's kinda hidden behind the overlay James is using to show positions, which is only on the stream output but not his actual screen he's racing on
