Our first experience at a Viking festival in was at the first Viking Festival in Kentucky. It made its way to Eminence, Kentucky complete with costumed players, mead shops and axe throwing! In other words, it was awesome! It was our first chance to take a trip back to the days of sword play and pelt jackets and we WILL be back...maybe...

Okay, so the photo editing isn't fooling anyone! We wanted to show you how much we enjoyed Kentucky's first viking festival and couldn't help "dressing" for the occasion. No one knew whether it would ever be in Kentucky again, so we definitely had to check it out! This one of those events you have to experience and hopefully you get to do it sometime.

The location is Briarwood, home to the Kentucky Highland Renaissance Festival, a permanent installment held for 8 weekends every summer (June 1 to July 21, 2024). Normally there is a Viking encampment during the Ren Faire, as well as a Viking Weekend. It seems you had never been before, so I do hope you'll return!

WOW! Well, they did it up right. 😂. I had to laugh at your thumbnail cause I thought, ‘oh, man, they even dressed the part.’ Nope. Just the magic of editing. Looks like a fun day with great weather.

If you didn't see the jousting, have you REALLY even been to the Viking Festival. This seemed like a lot of fun. Next year, you two should definitely sword fight. Or maybe not. But either way, thanks for taking us along to see the first Viking Festival in Kentucky. May there be many more!

Right?! That's one of the biggest reasons we wanted to go to the festival! Sword fight?...hmmm

Judging from what we saw at the festival, being Viking can easily just be a state of mind! So...yay for you!

Very polite of you to not participate in the ax throwing and other events so as not to show people up! I also did not blowing bubbles was so prevalent in Viking times 😂

Just wanted folks to know chivalry lives and that bubbles WERE very much a thing back then! Thanks for the visit!

Okay--I am officially jealous! I would love to have something like this in North Carolina! The closest thing that we have is our Renaissance Faire. 2:01 reminded me of a Hobbit house. Makes me wonder if anyone has ever done a Lord of the Rings festival? I don't think so, but that would also be cool! The dragon was a nice addition to the Viking fest. Great work, my friends!

We didn't know what to expect with it being the first one...and I'm thinking some of the participants weren't sure, either...which makes us want to go back next year with everyone involved having a bit of experience. Thanks for the visit!

@@OffRampAdventures Maybe next year they'll have a blacksmith and some weapon demos. That would really add to the Viking ambiance!
