Great video! The Forno do Lugo is a traditional Galician bakery and the coquitos are also known as sultanas de coco from their arab origins when Abderramán offered them to his guests. It's great seeing foreigners who dare try and appreciate the more traditional dishes like 'txipirones', many recoil in horror and make gagging faces when they see the ink. Next time you are anywhere near Bilbao you should get a 'pastel de arroz' as it is a really tasty historical dessert of the city.
We absolutely loved Bilbao, we we would love to come back and try more food. We will have to add the pastel de arroz on our list for next time! I feel like on RU-vid, people love to see super strong reactions to foods- but thats not really us. Pre-RU-vid, we have tried plates of bugs, almost every organ meat imaginable, fermented shark, balut..we ate a lamb head in our Marrakesh food your video (you should check it out if you haven't seen it). So a little squid ink is nothing! Hahaha. If you haven't subscribed, you should- because we are always trying new and interesting things! 😉

@@wherearewe-yt Yes, I've living in Bilbao for 5 years. Thanks for the recommendation, I will try it. If you plan to return, I recommend you to do so during the week of Astenagusia (in summer). A whole week full of festivities, activities, fairs, concerts, etc. You will love it!.
Have you ever had straight up vermouth before? It's a super popular drink all over Spain. We love it. This cocktail was amazing. We were shocked at how cheap it was. NO WAY we''re getting a cocktail for $5 back home. 🍸
I like that you are being more specific with the titles of your videos as you concentrate on the food and drinks of the area more than the historic or cultural attractions. This helps your potential new audience zero in quickly on your theme and click on your video. 🙂
We like to show important buildings and landmarks, but we're definitely not looking to be a "history channel", presenting a bunch of facts the entire video. I think it's always good to have a little bit of that, but we're much more about showing food and experiences, for sure!
It's good to create your own niche for your travel videos as there are so many out there ! For you two it is definitely the food and drink experiences. Keep it up and add in a catchy phrase in your titles like you did for your squid ink comment for this video. 🙂🥂

Thanks, guys! We filmed the first several videos at once, so we're hoping to apply what we've learned so far, when we shoot in Morocco (which is a lot of "what not to do's" 🤣). Anja got a DJI2, so that our "selfie" speaking camera shots won't look so awful in the future. It also comes with a clip mic, which should also help us with better audio. There are so many beautiful little streets in Bilbao. The architecture was one thing that really made the city stand out for us. We show a lot more of it off in the second part of the video, so I'd recommend checking it out if you haven't already!

Definitely would have made life a lot easier, instead of trying to get those tiny things out with a fork! 😂 Typically we love eating shellfish and things like prawns with our hands- but it gets a bit messy while filming, and handing the camera back and forth to film. That's definitely the best way to eat them though! Especially with such a delicious sauce inside those shells. 😋
