Our first ever mini team chase, what a dream Eilis is. She honestly couldn’t have been better behaved. I was absolutely terrified and did a lot of shouting in her poor ears. Sorry Eilis!!

You have a very honest pony Han. Have confidence in her. She actually did better than your team mates and would have jumped everything if she wasn't held up by them. I would like to hear more praise from you after each jump. I didn't hear you say good pony or even give her a pat until the end. That may sound very critical but it's very important for the mental well being of your pony. Hope you do something like this again. Great fun. Well done, I know that was a big ask for you.

She’s so so honest isn’t she! I don’t think I appreciate her enough, I’m so caught up in all the Affie issues I’m not being in the moment with Eilis. I’m also very aware that I dont want to fall in love with her as she will be sold 😂 but no excuse for not telling her she’s a good girl! I was just so in the moment and scared all I was thinking about was staying on and getting round. What an epic pony!!!

Maybe Eilis should have led- the other horses ahead of you kept stopping at the jumps. She is so honest and would have jumped them all for you . Have trust and confidence! Love this vlog! Looks like so much fun.

I agree with this. She's a great little pony...just guide her and let her do her thing.

I agree as well, I think she was very keen to jump all the jumps. Next time it would be nice seeing her being the lead. She being keen might get unsure seeing the other stop at the jumps.

YES! Why don't they make back protectors WOMAN shaped! Honestly Han, when you said you'd given Eilis 3 calming cookies I fully expected her to fall asleep halfway around, she's so laid back! 🤣🤣🤣
@gabrieladoran6270
@gabrieladoran6270 8 месяцев назад
The last three fences were the best jumped honestly. Eilis appears to jump best with some forward momentum and pace! Don’t be so hard on yourself, talk and think positively to yourself and Eilis, it’ll help you ride more proactively as opposed to behind the rhythm and defensively which often results in a deep stride and awkward jump / refusal

100% this positive mindset is so important when riding babies and setting a solid foundation. She is such a sweet horse you need to trust her, tell yourself you can do it and you'll have fun out there 😊
@Nohorsehan
@Nohorsehan 8 месяцев назад
She definitely jumps better when I let her travel doesn’t she. She got a bit ahead of herself on the start of the course and smacked her feet on the fence so I then panicked hence not taking the hand break off at all. But next time definitely need to just trust her! X

This was so much fun 😁! As a friend I am so proud of you for following it through,after how nervous you were . After all it was your idea, I’m loving the new adrenaline junkie han😉!! Eilis was an absolute super star!! She just took the atmosphere in her stride like she’d been doing it her whole life. Love that the owner of her is so supportive & your giving her a fantastic experience of being a fun all round pony ! Xx

I think you need the calming cookies, not the pony. Honestly if you’re that scared of cross country riding then don’t do it. It was a confusing and unpleasant experience for little Eilis who did nothing wrong and got screamed at the whole way around
@Nohorsehan
@Nohorsehan 8 месяцев назад
Didn’t think I’d be that scared till I got there. As you can see I’m very chilled till we get on. It was very very busy and hectic (which didn’t bother Eilis in the slightest) but panicked me slightly. Definitely shouldn’t have been shouting at her but thankfully as you can see Eilis wasn’t phased at all by it and didn’t once change her striding when I shouted as she just blocked me out. It’s like not I was kicking/smacking her. Next time I definitely need to trust her and let the hand break off and not shout at all as she was absolutely mega!!! Definitely a lesson learnt x

I'm in agreement ...I wondered why the pony was being yelled at, the pony wasn't being ridden ...
@honeymgswtrancehealer7936
@honeymgswtrancehealer7936 7 месяцев назад
@@Nohorsehan Constructive criticism......you need to ride her, when the others refused a fence i noticed you didn't attempt to get your pony over, if you allow her to refuse because the others did, you're telling her ' that's the right thing to be doing' & you will have probs the next time, Positive attitude & riding will get you round a team chase ..help your pony out , don't leave it all up to her to get you round it's a partnership between you . Much love to you both xx

She was AMAZING for a baby. You should have led the light grey over that fence you guys went around instead of stopping--Eilis would have done it. I don't know why you were freaking out--Eilis was nothing but safe and good! CONGRATS!

@Nohorsehan 8 месяцев назад
She was so so safe wasn’t she!!! Unfortunately I don’t think she would have gone over that fence in the woods without a lead. She might of if we hadn’t stopped it the first time, but once she’d stopped it I wouldn’t of got her over it alone x

Very entertaining, you all did very well. Can I suggest that you alter the position of your go pro. All I could see was the head of Eilis and the ground. It would have been more enjoyable if I could have seen what was happening in front. Congratulate Alice on her driving, I only saw her once, for a second, take her eyes off the road to look at you. I feel so tense when I see many people who are driving, feel the need to look away from the road to hold a conversation with their passengers, and it happens a lot with people on RU-vid.

I always love your content and ive been following you on insta for a good while now! Youre usually so positive so I was a bit confused why you were very vocal in Eilish's ears but not any 'good girl' or pats? She was sooo good and I dont think she wouldve stopped at all if she was in the lead. Probably just needed a few clicks and pats to go around clear (from what ive seen from you two beforehand) Youre riding is really nice girlie so dont worry about that! A wish for next time is to reposition your go pro so we can see the course and not just Eilish's beautiful head🧡

Actually a bit annoyed at myself for how much I growled at her but I was just so determined to stay on. As you can see she wasn’t phased at all with my shouting and didn’t once speed up from it. Equally she really didn’t need the shouting, she’d of definitely still gone over them. Unfortunately she wouldn’t have lead but with a bit more confidence maybe in a few months she will. She’s such an epic little mare and I need to appreciate her a bit more x

The purple is the equimac. I love it and have lived in it all winter/autumn but I am a cold person so will be putting my equidry on from now on with the fur lining. The equimac is perfect for the rain though as you don’t get too hot but it keeps you bone dry

@Missmittyxxx
@Missmittyxxx 8 месяцев назад
all that screaming and growling into a young ponies ears during her first team chase, and not a single "good girl" the whole way round..... a gentle click before the jump and some praise after the jumps would have massively helped her! I've been following you for a long time and always loved how positive you are and how much you love horses but this just wasn't it....
@Nohorsehan
@Nohorsehan 8 месяцев назад
Definitely a lesson learnt. She didn’t even need a gentle click, that pony was going over those jumps! Unfortunately my nerves got the better of me. Thankfully she’s the most chilled out pony and isn’t phased by anything and wasn’t phased by me screaming. If it was Affie I was on she’d of been extremely upset but Eilis is extremely unphased by life and just loves her life. Not defending my actions as I definitely shouldn’t have shouted in her ears but it’s not like I was kicking or smacking her with my whip at all. She’s going to have little kids screaming and being loud in her ears as we’re going to try and sell her as a kids pony.

First Han, you need to adjust your Gopro because all we can see is the horse's ears. Its pointing downwards.You need it to be upright, so the viewer can see ahead of you as well as the horse's ears. Also, all that yelling and screaming of you and your friends was not condusive to your horses being calm and getting on with the job. Your pony was the best of the bunch. You were very negative all the way round and it goes down to reins to the horse. Eilis was noticably better over the last few jumps I think , because you stopped yelling and just gave her a click-click as she went over. But I noticed you didn't praise her when she jumped even saying "good girl" "or even "yes!" when she got over. At the end I was waiting for you to give her a big pat and tell her what a good girl she'd been but you didn't which I found sad because though she's a small pony she had a huge heart during that chase and gave you her all. It would be good for you to take a leaf out of Meg's book here. You've been to lots of events with her obviously and you can hear her as she goes over jumps praising the horse and encouraging the horse all the time. She doesn't yell either. That's the way you start to work together as a team, you and the horse. I'd love to see that happen with you.

Love the horse and finally getting to see some action is great. Are you calling Rings (reign stoppers!) Wtf? Also they should be shorter then the girls have them! The only job they have is to, stop the horse avoiding the bit! Too long and it completely serves no purpose.... It's litteraly just there for decoration! As for the friend asking about larger breast plates, I'm sure someone would make plus size of you Googled it 😊
