I can’t explain it but being a Mexican and seeing you enjoy our culture makes ma VERY happy because you don’t use stereotypes on Mexicans and I love that about you guys 💕💕
Reminds me of my travels to Mexico in years past. Thank you for all the updates from the different areas. Where is Laska when y’all are filming videos in markets, etc?
Mexico is wonderful. I am seriously enjoying it. Found a special woman. She is my angel. Still looking for our spot. Something with lots of nature, not hot and not cold. Considering Cuernavaca, Tepoztlán, Valle De Bravo possibly
Unfortunately, a lot has changed in 30 yrs. Definitely a beautiful city to grow up 20 years ago (I grow up there) but the last 15 years haven't been that good with Cuernavaca. Still I think they should go into the city to tour around El Centro: Palacio de Cortes, Jardín Borda, Museo Robert Brady, Salto de San Antón, the beautiful Zocalo designed also by Gustave Eiffel, Catedral, etc. and use the city as a base to tour the rest of the state: La Ruta de los Conventos, Jardines de Mexico, Las Haciendas, etc.
Cuernavaca it's very secure for the turist and foraigners, but it's very dangerous for the local people, I'm from this city. Believe me, I know what I'm talking about.
In my humble opinion, Morelos is one of the most beautiful states in México Lindo y Querido. Depending on where you are staying, take opportunities to drive around in the areas you are visiting. Many people day trip from Mexico City to visit various places in Morelos. I would recommend trying to stay in one place on Saturdays and Sundays, and on long weekends. Depending on local health concerns precautions, I would recommend a weekday visit to Cuautla. It is a town rich in history, especially in regard to the Mexican Revolution. Morelos was the home of Emiliano Zapata, revolutionary leader of the country folks who simply wanted to get their traditional lands back so that they could work the fields and feed their kids.
Travel if you and your wife enjoy it but if she isn't on the same page then you just dream. I'm wish I had spent more time and now looking at my next birthday and wondering if conditions will be an issue traveling to these places. Do it while you can.
@@davebonar1 I travel on my own throughout México, I don't have time to wait for my partner to like or have time to travel with me, life is too short, you don't get time back.
@@jj-bp3fr sorry to hear that... But their is no one else i would rather do it with then my partner solo i don't see the point see you out there some day happy travels
What a great town. Very busy and nice to see so many people out shopping and eating. Learning so much about Mexico. So diverse. Happy travels. Stay safe. Glad you wore your masks.❤
I cannot wait to be able to travel to Mexico again! For the time being, I am living vicariously through y'all's videos! Cuernavaca has certainly gone through a bit of turmoil in the last decade or so, but remains a great city, and worth visiting. It has always been an escape from the busy life in Mexico City for locals, and has many places worth visiting.
I enjoyed this video sooo much. Thank you. Im living my dream through u guys im still stuck in north Carolina homeschooling my kids at the moment. The last time we went to Mexico was Christmas 2019 we went to Hidalgo and Michoacan hopefully soon we can get back down there. You guys are great yall are my escape at the moment keep up the good work safe travels 💕
When I think of Tepoztlán, I think of Tepoznieves, so a visit there is a must. They have them in other parts of México but that’s where it originated. Good to see you went there!
At 10:26, Jordan calling randos "amigo", which is a very common thing to do in Mexico when addressing someone that you don't know to ask for something.
Been gradually working my way through your videos over the past several months. Gotta say, it's pretty cool to see how much better and more comfortable both of you have become speaking and understanding Spanish.
I have just noticed something about you two (...sorry, 3!). You are very different people than when you left Arizona. Yes, you sold up and went for an adventure around Mexico, but it's not just a collection of your experiences there... YOU have changed too! I went back and purposely tried to re-watch one video from each month of your Mexico travels, but what stick out is not that you are getting better at being Nomads (although you are) and better at fully experience every place you come to (although you are)... No, it's that YOU are different people now, and it's so obvious from the videos. It's not just that 'we all change depending on experience' but it's much deeper than that. If you had made this trip for 6 months and then returned to Arizona, you would have had a fantastic experience, but soon fall back into Arizona life... believe me... but NOW it would be very different. A good well paid job would no longer be enough for you or even to start another business... You would feel empty! You don't actually NEED Mexico, but you NEED the world!!! You could be fulfilled travelling Europe, Asia or Africa but you do need that 'injection' of new experiences. Nothing wrong with Arizona but it's no longer your home... THE WORLD is your home.
Love this comment! Thanks for sharing your observations. We definitely couldn't go back to any 9-to-5 job at this point. And when we stay in one place for too long, the travel bug bites us and we start getting the itch again. So thankful for everything Mexico has taught us and how traveling continues to open up our minds and worldview.
Tepoztlán is a destination spot for well-to-do Mexicans and foreign visitors so, yes, it is expensive, unless you eat in the market as you did. Many hotels have reduced rates for weeknights, but weekends are always crowded and demand pushes prices up. If you visit the town on a Tuesday instead of Sunday, you won't see so many people on the street.
I hadn't seen your videos in maybe a year. Cheers for keeping it up, keeping this economy going and visiting all these beautiful places. You guys ate like kings and queens! It looked delicious.
Maddie looks so beautiful with the haircut, It dependes on the place Telcel has the biggest investment in infrastructure so you will get signal where other carriers wont. AT&T has a horrible reputation they switch you from telcel or telefonica without your consent and they leave you without the service in the limbo, they have the highest number of complains in PROFECO. Tepoztlan is rumored to be an energy nexus with such power that even UFOs land there. You are going to love Peña de Bernal, people sell you quartzes and all kind of rocks and crystals like if they were candy a one like the one you bought in the video would cost 10 pesos there.
Loved this town and your video. It's nice to see people getting out and living life again. Always look forward to your next adventures! Living vicariously through you guys. Safe travels! 🍹
¡ Nuevo subscriptor !
Morelos is actually my favorite state, My grandparents used to have a house at Cuernavaca , even that I was a little girl I could feel something special being there, I dont know if its the altittude...weather ..and Acapulco is close to Cuernavaca I think
I lived with a family in Tepoztlan about 20 years ago while learning Spanish. The Garcia-Monroy family. Great people and I think about Tepoztlan often.
Lovely video! I visited the Tepozteco some years ago, magical experience, nonsense having it closed. Visit Cuernavaca, so many wonderful flowers and don't forget to visit "Las Mañanitas", cool place!
@@TangerineTravels Sorry to hear that, absolute nonsense. Here in Portugal we're in complete lockdown, since January, if we're lucky we might be "free" by the 5th of April
During the rainy season in Mexico, you can see in the trail that leads to the Pyramid on the mountain a lot of small waterfalls and little creeks. If you got a chance to return on the rainy months, you'll love it.
Oh WOW ha ha, literally posted my youtube vlog in the same place in Mexico on the same day as you guys, amazing. I love it there in Tepoztlan, what a great place.
I was lived in Cuernavaca most part of my 44 years and I studied at a bicultural school. Our community is very friendly with foreigners, as many live in the city. Definitely you should visit. I recommend walking at centro. Visit Las Mañanitas for lunch or brunch its a must. Enjoy!
Always wanted to go there. So glad you did and took really good footage of it to share. I have seen some interesting affordable B and B's there on line. Wondered if that's what you did.
Maybe there are affordable rentals on Airbnb, but we couldn't find them when looking for pet-friendly options ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We ended up booking off hotels . com
Went to Mexico in 2019 and have been obsessed ever since. I discovered Tangerine Travels after searching for videos of Mexico so I could relive it during our never-ending quarantine in Canada. Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU💕 for sharing your travels, it's been strangely comforting to watch as I impatiently wait to go back after the travel restrictions are lifted here. :)
I love watching all your Mexico travels, and you absolutely nailed Tepoztlán with this video -made me want to visit again! P.S. I thought I would leave you guys some useful info on some of your questions (and more): *Requesón is actually made from curdled cheese when making queso fresco. *Flor de calabaza is squash blossom. *I find Movistar to be the most consistent and cheap carrier (they have good pre-paid and plan options). *You can get awesome mojitos from a place called "Jacaranda"! *Another particular thing about Tepoztlán cuisine is the exotic meats. Not sure if you noticed some of the signs behind you at the market said things like víbora or jabalí. There are stands dedicated to preparing exotic food and that's a big part of their tourism :) It's too bad you didn't get to climb up to the pyramid, but that is something to look forward to when you go back!
Hey. I've lived in morelos for like 12 years and last year I came to Arizona (right now I'm here). Ever since I started watching your videos I've been looking forward for you guys to visit Cuernavaca, it's definitely not as dangerous as they say unless you're planning to go out on night, during daytime everything is okay. Hope you change your mind and give Cuernavaca a chance. Any questions about Morelos I'll be really happy to answer them. :D
Very fun video. The colors and artisinias are dazzling. I visited Tepotzlan in the 90s, it was chill. A bit of a circus now. The hike to the ruins is an adventure, passages are tight, you'll see why its closed for now. Had the best sopitos ever at the end of the hike 😋
Cuernavaca is fine. I visited my friend there in December. It has some cool palaces from Hernan Cortes (one a hotel and another a cultural center), a very cool modern art museum, and a nice non-touristy center with some interesting historic architecture. I'd recommend visiting for a couple days.
Hey you guys, I’m sorry if you got scared of Cuernavaca because of our comments... I think we all meant to tell you that cuerna is not a good option for long term but to visit for a few days yes! Is full of colors and culture and things to do and see.
Wow , what an exotic location , & even with the higher prices do to the Mex/city in flux , it still appears to be a place of interest worthy of an extended visit by us Gringo's !!! & Oh the food .
@@davidwhiren817 don’t be sorry. Just know that people do not like you. They like your money and that’s it ..it’s all an act of kindness but you are not really accepted. As long as you are comfortable with that . Fine by me. But know that there are some ppl in the USA that know you’re type in the usa is a Cancer on real culture. Disgusting.
@@MimimiMcArthur I would never want to do anything to damage another culture ! all my life in my travels I have learned so much from other cultures , always taking the best ways to be & inner act in harmony with them by their examples . I am a whittler / woodcarver , an arts & crafts person of 50 + years , so I would be seeking out the artist & craftsman both male & female to inner act with them in a cultural exchange if you will . Dance , music & visual arts , museums , archives of same would be my motivation for interring Grand old Mexico to visit her people .
Welcome to Morelos... It's veen long time since i went to Tepoz (or anywhere 😐), and after watching, I'm really wanting to take that 30 min trip for breakfast. 😅
that is the magic of Mexico every state has is own way its own traditions and inside the states every place like city or town has is own traditions and different food im from michoacan from a city call Zamora a little town call Atacheo the more you travel the more you will find so many different foods make in different ways Mexico is a country of diversity
cool. I was there a week later on a Satuday. It was amazed how many people were hiking the stairs up to the closed ruins entrance. The trail continued on for another hour to a great hilltop view over the valley and I did not see anyone up there except a local collecting 50 pesos for using the trails. He did display his park badge when requested. I would have like to stay and enjoy the town but it seemed super crowded by noon when I returned from the trail. I will return on a weekday. On my drive out of town there was a line of cars going 1/4 mile out of town, all trying to get in. Spent the afternoon in Cuernavaca instead, which has more room to spread out weekend warriors.
Still can’t believe I haven’t seen any youtubers go to the Pueblo mágico in Puebla where my grandparents are from. It’s very beautiful out there with many out doors activity to do. So many RU-vidrs just go to the same places. Can’t wait to go back to Mexico later this year
It’s nice to see a lotta people again!!! That video just make me happy to see them again 😍😍!!! Guys if you’ll be going to Chihuahua state, please visit the Mennonites camps at Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua!!! You might also try going to Casas Grandes and visit de Lebanon’s camps, those are Mormons!! Please visit them🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
All the spots are Good don’t worry about which one is busy, they all get their crowd at one time or another and they all learn from each other and the menus are identical so just sit down where you can find a spot. I have eaten at that market at 200 times
So you’re in my stomping grounds!! I hope you have a great time! I love Tepoz, as it is know by the locals, but on weekends in “normal” times you can hardly walk! You picked a good time. A lot of the food is Nahuatl by the way.
I have CRICKET...which uses AT&T towers and it has worked fairly good to very very good everywhere I travel in Mexico...Durango ..4 trips to Mexico City...3 trips to Monterey....Puerto Vallarta... Chihuahua 4 times Nuevo Laredo...state of Coahuila....and many trips to Juárez where my wife lives
Pillofon is very cheap - MX$150/month for 10GB of data. The company is owned by RU-vidr Luisito Comunica and you have to order the SIM online. The coverage is very good in my experience.
How are you guys not fat? You're always eating these really yummy looking foods! I'm so envious!!! On another note, I was talking to my wife to see what her mental image of Mexico was, and she described a place with hot weather, dirt roads, tumbleweeds, crime and gangs, beat up pickup trucks, and lots of poor people. My other friends seem to have the same mental image. When I told them there was snow skiing, rain forests, beaches and surfing, deserts, and more, they didn't believe me. I'd like to see you guys go visit a place in the snow sometime. I think that would blow the minds of a lot of Americans who think Mexico is just a desert. Keep having fun!!! 🍹🍺😀
I laughed out loud at 6:33 that was a funny comment. I had a Siberian Husky that would also eat anything. I also love hearing you guys speak Spanish 11:00 my family has been in Colorado for a few generations so I only know some Spanish. You inspire me to become fluent. One more comment, at those prices, you should have ordered a large 19:05 haha.
My husband grew up in the State of Morelos......next time you are in the area, check out the lake community of Tequesquitengo and the natural hot spring water parks surrounding Jojutla.
Great videos! I’m binge watching before I leave next week for Bacalar. I’ve always done the all inclusive with my husband, but super excited to go with 2 of my friends. One is from Jalisco and the other amiga has an abuela in Nayarit. I’m ready to get a better experience! Salud 😘
Looks amazing! For phones- we have an AT&T plan in the US and just visited Puerto Vallarta for 3 months and our service said TelCel the whole time. Our service was just ok there. Not much help. 😁
wow! Yeah it really has changed even since Jan ! I was there January 5-7 and it was REALLY quiet. The ley seca was in effect as well and I could not even get a drink while having dinner.
Telcel has the best service overall, and you won't lose coverage when you're on the road (which is a big thing for you, tangerines), like AT&T. I tried them both. AT&T however, has the best international service for US, CA, MEX, since it's the same company operating in North America.
I visited Mexico City and Morelos in January 2017. Hopefully you two will make it to Cuernavaca. Quite a bit of history there. It's often referred to as "the Beverly Hills of Mexico."
