If you ever pass through Wichita Falls again, you are welcome to overnight in our parking lot at Kiowa Casino just over the TX/OK border in Devol, OK! :D
That's the beautiful thing about being in your late 30's, you just do what you feel like and don't worry if someone says something. Eric's like, can we film with our phone? Don't know, don't care. What are they gonna do, fight me?
Your candid storytelling in 'Our First Time RV Camping in a Casino PARKING LOT!' is deeply engaging. Despite challenges, your honesty and resilience shine through, making your vlog both relatable and inspiring. Your authenticity is truly commendable. And I am Floating Village Life
The year I graduated college (way back in 1976), my family embarked on a 4 week round-trip cross-country RV trip (starting and ending in Long Island, NY) in our 24' travel trailer that we towed with a neon green (w/faux wood panelling) Oldsmobile station wagon. I kid you not. It was something straight out of "National Lampoon's Vacation" and even had neon green and white shag carpeting on the deck created when we put down the third seat. Anyway, for the Las Vegas portion of the trip, we camped in the parking lot of the Hacienda Hotel and Casino's "RV Park". The hotel no longer exists but it was on The Strip not far from the airport. The "RV Park" was an asphalt parking lot with hookups, a club house, and pool. I have no idea how much it cost but it was legal and we had access to the Hotel and Casino. But I do remember how freaking HOT it was there - since it was the middle of July. Good thing we had hook-ups.
What amazing memories!!! That sounds exactly like what 70's RV dreams are made of...shag carpeting and wood paneling 😍 We wish there were more RV parks on the strip. It's such a cheaper way to do Vegas. Glad we visited when it was a bit cooler...we can only imagine how brutal it must have been in July 😅
Eric and Alison...TIP ....To COOL your camper quickly open all windows and doors and just drive SLOWLY a few big circles in the parking lot... that will allow the hot air to flow out and the cool air to flow in.
Allison your personality is intoxicating ❤ I have been rewatching all the older videos to stay inspired and stick to my goals of getting out of my every day routine. A lot of the help has been watching your positive attitude even when you felt completely defeated.
I don’t know if you guys have a freezer on board, or space in said freezer, but you might want to get some ice packs that you could put under your back when you lay down in those hot places. You might want to put a thin towel over it but it really helps to cool you down. I went without a/c for awhile because mine broke and it’s expensive so I had to creative until I got a new one.
Hey you visited our home town! You got to experience the temperature swings first hand - it'll be 110 during the day and drop 40-50 degrees overnight, it's great. Glad you stopped by MSA Annex! Great spot!
You should have battery operated fans on hand. We still have ours in storage till my husband gets the green light to hit the road. We moved to Florida from NY. The heat just getting used to.
Wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your channel. I love how real you are and admire the content and editing skills you have. I look forward to the adventures as you continue down the road.
Hey! I'm a fellow Phoenix-born baby, too! I don't remember anything about it so not helpful with the recommendations. I hope you guys have fun and can keep the early morning driving going. It's so stupid hot right now. Stay hydrated and keep us posted on all the good coffee. We're also crossing our fingers for a Nikita and Matt reunion in LA...
OMG! I saw the RV drive in and my first thought was that looks like clementine! I saw Eric on the floor and thought he looks familiar. It was actually you guys!! An opportunity missed. I hope you really a good time in my Tribe’s Casinos.
You two would love Laughlin NV. Super chill little casino town on the Colorado river just south of Lake Mojave. Bonus is the Riverside casino has free parking for RVs and plenty of cheap rooms in case you want a ac and bed for the night
I just spent this past week in Las Vegas. 110F in the early afternoon! It was still in the 90s by the evening! Luckily I slept in a luxury hotel though. An RV would have been unbearable. So I salute your toughness!
Oh ya...if we're learning anything from this trip, it's to embrace the suck and really appreciate moments of cool and comfort. 😆 Hopefully you had a great time in Vegas!
You guys crack me up! Love the scene where you are attempting to use a mask to cover your eyes. 🤣Always fun to go back home. We did just that in our last video and there is a part 2 coming out this week. I look forward to seeing your home town in the next video! - Michelle
Hi there, I would suggest instead of wasting money at casinos and their buffets and buying coffees to save your money and buy a generator a dual fuel generator that is. I think you'll be glad you did. Good luck
We have 2022 GRECH Strada ION meaning all battery. Air conditioning is not problem, plus a magnetic type stove so not much heat. Super quiet, with endless hot water and so we splurged our budget and then some thinking of the future. No regrets. Oh and 3.5 turbo Mercedes chassis. So it’s really awesome and the guys at GRECH have been super to answer a lot of questions. The van is class “B” with goodies and now 2 years later we feel a little guilty for going overboard but it’s a true comfort…..ah. I don’t work nor am I connected to them in anyway. So for us we’d buy again tomorrow in a heartbeat. Good luck…like your rig too btw
Welcome to our neck of the woods, hope you continue to have fun in Arizona, didn't know you were a Phoenix native. We've been here since 1996 and love it despite the brutal summers, having AC certainly helps. Cannot wait for the upcoming video on Phoenix and seeing what kind of cool spots you end up highlighting 😎
Hello Allison and Eric. Looked like fun finding ways to cope. I was in Tucson two months earlier the year I was there. It was already hot, but preceded snow in Butte Montana a week or so later. We visited a casino in Las Vegas. I put $100 aside for the night and was up on cards for a while, until a new dealer suddenly started winning all the time. Time to jump to roulette.
You seem to have fallen in love with Texas. This was a good warmup (hahaha) for getting used to competing for the one shade tree in the entire parking lot - then having your car repainted white from the grackle crap.
I assume you are aware of heat rises? Why close the roof vent and cover it? You would think that opening a side window to allow hot air to escape at the highest point of the camper which is the roof vent?
I used to live in Phoenix years ago. The weather was agreeable year-round with the exception of August. But now with rapidly changing climate, It's hotter earlier and longer. I will be interested to see Phoenix - through you - it's grown and changed no doubt. You might try going up to the Grand Canyon where it's usually 10 degrees cooler and lots of pine for shade.
If you guys ever want to head into Canada, I think you can just park and sleep there. No permit needed in most casinos, but you got to at least eat dinner. Unless things change. I think Walmart's are still free to park overnight. mini portable AC needed :)
@AellaMaude-oy9qn I live in Ontario, I once practically lived in a casino for 3 years till they got rid of the poker pit. If I google "casinos in Ontario with free RV parking" every single casino I know off shows up.
@AellaMaude-oy9qn I am from Ontario Canada and lived well off playing poker for many years, most casinos sept Niagara have free parking and RV sections and no permit needed. Niagara Falls is the only place you got to pay to park. but there's like 30 other casinos in Ontario. I played at 1000island, but they decided one day to close the poker tables for good :( other places are too far for me to get too, and my hometown just opened a new Casino but again no poker. I lost my license in the wild poker days, or I would have just gone some other place when they closed the poker room, I kind of did but 100$ for a room and $120 for a train, plus you now pay $35 every 30min to the dealer just to play, it's not worth it now, for now.

Once again, entertained us with your trials. You certainly put yourselves through a lot! Very testing! Yet you put on a good smile through it all! We’ve also experienced heat in a caravan here in Australia on our travels in the summer. Not fun after a day’s drive when the van feels like an oven! Hope you find some relief in Phoenix! Love you guys! Better luck next time too!
Maybe this will help for the next time your fan doesn't work. From what I've read, there is a self-resetting fuse that might be tripped causing the beeping on your fan. To reset the fan fuse, pull the supply fuse in the fuse box and reinsert. This will reset the fan's fuse. Or you can disconnect your battery and reconnect. That is some brutal heat to deal with. Take care.
Can’t wait to see your Phoenix videos! It’s so hot here right now I don’t even have any suggestions on things to do. Maybe try Salt River Tubing. It’s a blast. Canyon Lake is gorgeous. You’re better off heading straight to Sedona. It’s so beautiful there.
Did the Casino have a hotel? If so then that is probably why you got picked on by security. That would be like bringing your own food to a restaurant. We stayed at a casino hotel just outside Albuquerque even though they had an RV lot just next door. I had been fighting strong crosswinds all the way from Tucumcari and really needed the room.
Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium in Bass Pro Shops in Springfield Missouri is a fun place to hang out for a few days. We camped free in a parking lot there and ate many meals in the Bass Pro Shops restaurant (very reasonable prices) and went through the museums. You might try it.
Not sure why you would want camp in the desert in the summer. Head west coast or the mountains. Heat like that woudl be awful for sleeping. Erik will have night terrors.
Your just a couple hours south of us in Phoenix... it doesnt cool down as much as you think at night - overnight lows (for us) have been in the upper 70's/almost 80. Do have fun in Tucson. If you have time, check out Barrio Brewing Co.
Hey you are in my home state! We live in Sierra Vista and visit Tucson often! Welcome to Arizona! Good Luck with the heat…we are about 10 degrees “cooler”! 😊❤
Trying to run irrigation to all the trees in the parking lot is not easy in the desert. Then if the line breaks, you either have to run a new line by tunneling it under the pavement or break the pavement. Both are terrible options.
Casinos don't want you photographing card games, to count cards. Players are watched with security cameras. Typically bags are also not allowed. Boring places to visit if you don't want to gamble.
FYI for future, Canadian Casinos filming will lead to security taking your phone to delete all photos and videos you may have taken then they will likely ban you from the casinos in that province for a year.
I would not be able to sleep if it was that warm up and I didn't have a freezer blowing at cold air on me LOL and yes The House Always Wins unfortunately
Casinos tend to be very vigilant about their parking, because there are people who will leave their pets and kids in the car for HOURS while they gamble off the rent money.
You guys seriously need a generator. We have three rooftop air conditioners on the roof of our class A and they kept us cool for a week in July in Key West. We run our generator going down the road so the coach can stay cool. The dash AC just isn't strong enough.
