You mentioned solar in some of your videos, could you please do an overview of your set up, do you have a battery bank or do you feed excess to the CFE, and how does that over production come back to you? Do you get a credit for future use in Kwh, or pesos or how does the that process work. That would be really interesting and helpfull to those considering a solar set up. Thanks for considering.
This is going to be a long video when it happens, but I just don't have the complete picture at this point. Every point you've brought up though is something we've considered... I just want to make sure my commentary is thorough.
@AlexanderFromKC Thank you for replying. Something else I wanted to ask you about is if you've covered money transfer from US to MX in any of your videos, or if not, maybe are planning to. Specifically real estate purchasing amounts, not ATM withdrawals. Knowing you have gone through this yourself, and preparing to do something similar, it would be helpful to hear your experience and advice.
I've been following you, I'm planning to buy in the future, and might go end of February or beginning of March. I want to buy an old building and Renovate, while I'm working here in United States so I can have extra money to retire in Merida that Yucatan.
Thanks for following! You're going to have a great time when you go down, it's a great time to be there. May is normally the hottest month, but you'll be ok. You're dream is the one of many others, but if you choose the right place and keep it going, you'll get it done. Thanks again, and enjoy your trip!!
Thank you! And yes, I hear that. I've noticed that our bills for some places have crept up quite a bit. That being said, going out to eat and buying from the local places (not Walmart and CostCo) has helped out a lot. We also invested in a ton of Pesos prior to leaving last time, more out of convenience than anything else. Either way, it's helped out quite a bit this trip!
Really nice home, great taste! Question, do you have any idea if the “Autódromo”, the big circuit on the way to Progreso, is opened? I like to race so I’ve been looking for information on the “Autódromo” but I can’t find that much....
Not as crazy as you might think. It's actually hotter where we're from (Kansas City) right now that it's been in Merida. So not necessarily crazy, but maybe a bit lucky?
ZOU! And the trust (or Fideicomiso) is normally setup between you and a bank, so unless something's changed, you'll still have to set one of those up. Also, I believe it's 31 miles (50 km) but if you're in an area where it matters they'll tell you.
We're never here that long at this point, but we're working on our permanent residency which would make it no big deal. Most people just travel back to their country or origin once or twice per year to make sure they're following the rules.
OH WOW YOU GUYS ARE THERE ??? I’ll be there tomorrow. Hope I can get to meet y’all before y’all head back. Also do you have a Mexican advisor you can recommend? I might just message you on IG
Yep - we're here! Send me a message on IG, and I'll see if I can connect someone to you. It all depends on what you're looking to do! Glad you're coming down!
@@AlexanderFromKC I did send you a message. Anyways I’m good now just was hoping to meet and maybe shoot the shit about Merida and pick your brain a little and introduce you guys to my channel audience
We originally paid about $115,000 USD for the home originally. Then we put approx. $360,000 USD into the renovation, not including furniture and appliances.
