Stede Bonnet historically became a pirate captain by paying his crew a salary after buying a ship. Also he had a library.

Fun fact: the British naval officer they released on the boat at the end was played by show creator David Jenkins (he's also the one that has tea poured in his lap)! I love that more reactions to OFMD are starting to come out, as I am still completely obsessed with it! And Stede is, in fact, absolutely baby girl! Can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of the season!

This show is both hilarious and delightful, and Stede is truly one of the most weirdly sweet and likable characters I've seen in forever. I couldn't help rooting for him right from the start. Him being such a dad to his crew really endeared him to me, lol. Also, how traumatized by his past he was, and how you get the sense the man just wants a place to belong. The show is quite the journey! Look forward to more of these reactions.

i'm glad you guys are doing this. every other reaction i've seen to this show has been by straight people, and they can enjoy the show, but there's whole layers they just don't get. i have a feeling you guys will love it so much more

you will be hooked, again and again. at the end of every episode I was craving the next. I binged the whole season. enjoy, I am envious you get to see it for the first time, I wish I could too. this show deserves the hype and much more :D

I'm not able to watch this with my friends just yet though I have seen the series like 4 times by myself, and my housemates aren't really interested in the show, so this made me feel like I could finally watch it in company, which was SO fun!! love that you enjoyed it, it only gets better!
