this silly, silly man lives in my head rent free. every damn day I hear his singsongy little voice with the silly little accent and that’s the same man who sort of set fire to a whole ship and was proud of it

okay but was anyone else a little bit proud of stede when he actuallly acted like a pirate with mary's lover and slammed him on the table? he's still a soft bean, but that was the first time we saw him legitimately get angry
my ABSOLUTE fave stede moments of them all is "THIS is your emergency?? eat an apple for gods sake!" because its so petty and self-centered cos all he wanted in that moment was to flirt with ed, and "fine! ILL intervene!", because of the way he flips every single flippable thing on his person and also because... thats also so so stede? just too stupid to feel fear, insisting on propriety, and if no one else will take the lead, then damn it, here comes captain dumbass, carried on the wings of good intentions.
OMG YESSS. Whenever I see people saying that he’s this polite gentleman all the time I’m like did we watch the same show? Dude is the most sassiest petty diva in a good way. I love how he is unbothered over the oranges because he’s only focused on making Ed stay longer
I just love the "unhand me or bleed" scene because it shows everyone that he truly has seen some stuff. And the little scream upon seeing Ed with no beard... perfection.
that scene is screaming hilarious because of ed fuming while loading up his stupid, ancient gun and so desperately sweet for the way hes looking at stede like "dad come pick me up, theyre meanies...."
Putting the Doug threatening scene after the Blackbeard demonstration made my heart explode omg. Not that I want to see Stede become murderous, but Stede standing up for himself is just -chefs kiss-
I absolutely love stede standing up, specifically the unhand me or bleed scene, when he tells calico to get off his ship, and when he defends himself in the bar by saying he’s seen death. I want to see some more stede defending himself next season
id lowkey love to see stede finish izzy off in a duel? cos i feel like theyve been slowly amping up the intensity of their sword fights, first on the island, then izzy gets a technical KO on the ship.... but i also dont want stede to kill any more people, but i kinda want him to kill izzy so ed wont have to...?

I have a theory that Stede's story about the man with a hook for a head is actually a sort of unconscious allegory about himself and how he sees his life. He can't eat (get any pleasure or fulfillment from ordinary life) and he doesn't kiss because nobody likes him (Stede feels alienated and unlikable because his own dad didn't like him, followed by his peers, and then his wife). I think this explains why he was so befuddled by Ed kissing him and wanting to be with him - it must have seemed totally unreal and unbelievable, based on all of Stede's previous experience of life and his own concept of himself.
“Unhand me or bleed” if Ed saw that he would *not* know how to act. 😂 I wait for the day those two get drunk in a town one night and a Pirate Stede comes out.

I love Stede he is my favourite character. It bothers me that Ed gave him such a hard time for leaving, when Ed left him in season 1 for Jack and Stede welcomed him back with open arms.
