I wanna point out that Brigadramon is pronounced more like brigade-dramon. It's weird seeing it in writing but. It's meant to be the mixture of Brigade/dramon
So the d brigade did officially become a thing a while ago. But in the 2023 web novel, Digimon seekers, they added a branch of the D-brigade called the D police which introduced Hi-commandramon, Cargodramon and Brigadramon as an alternate evolution line. Hi commandra and brigadramon being references to the fact that commandramon looks kinda like agumon in soldier gear so they made a full line based on that. Darkdramon was always an awkward mega for the line so good on em.
Giaomon is sick af because the company was just like "ok we need to design an X-Antibody form for BlackWarGreymon" and then the artists submitted their art and they went "well, this is too different from vanilla X-Antibody WarGreymon but the design is too awesome to just throw away so let's just make it into a whole seperate digimon because we can"
So about the whole -dramon naming convention, it does actually mean something. Every -dramon digimon has a common ancestor in the original dragon digimon, dracomon, which eventually becomes Examon from the Royal Knights
Darkdramon was an experiment that went out of control, later they made Brigadramon which was able to be controlled. the "Command" in Commandramon is more short for "commando" than "commander" I think. The tie of the line to Agumon is unstated but considering Commandramon, HiCommandramon, and Brigadramon all look very close, I imagine that the D-Brigade were made with at least some data from them.
D-Brigade is actually an old Digimon Group but they got new members recently cause they put a spolight on them along with the Crack Team in a Web Novel recently. 16:50 And yes, Brigadramon did come out in 2023 :v His overall design is based on WarGreymon too.
To give some lore on the D-Brigade: Their overall mission in the original lore was to hunt down one specific digimon. Darkdramon an attempt to make the strongest Digimon gone rogue. They were composed of the Digivolution line of Commandramon > Sealsdramon > Tankdramon > Darkdramon. In 2023, they were reintroduced as the D-police in Digimon Seekers with a new digivolution line and Mega-level designed to act as an air command learning from the failure of Darkdramon. This new line was composed of Commandramon > Hi-commandramon > Cargodramon > Brigadramon.
The D-Brigade is such an old group, first debuting in the Digimon Accel that also introduced the leader of the "rival" group, the BAN-TYO. The group are a group that was originally created by Yggdrasil in Digimon Fortune, they are like the military order of God while the Royal Knights are the last shield of the whole world.
Nice. This group is a bit obscure to regular digimon fans. Now I hope the next digi quiz is about Milleniummon. Hope you show them how freaking absurd he is from the Digimon 2020 anime. Episode 50 to be precise.
@@joseantoniogomezrodriguez1724 neither of those is xcros or frontier, so neither is even remotely the worst, though 2020 IS definitely pretty bad it's still not as insulting as TRI.
I'm surprised you didn't try to fool them with Riot Commandramon. And yeah, they're kinda related to the Agumon line, if I remember correctly, they were modified by the Crack Team to be a fully combat-oriented line.
So about Digimon #6. Apparently it was Digimon # 5 who died in battle, but was so filled with rage and hate for its enemies it dark/necro digivolved into... that. That may be a reason behind its name, because its dark and metal as all heck. btw, #6 has a fusion with an "enemy" digimon to where even the entry states it shouldn't exist. Even cooler/crueler if it was the digimon that killed it in the first place.
I guess it's not technically a member of the D-Brigade, but I was kinda hoping the bonus would be Chaosmon just so they'd be like "That's a weird combination."
Well well well, I actually don't find some of these guys really offensive to the general public, so I am interested in seeing your reactions to this. Now for some trivia. The D-Brigade is a group of mechanized Digimon, most of which being dinosaur or dragon cyborgs. They have a ranking system and as they evolved and get stronger they grow higher and higher in ranks of the organization. They are the rivals to the Bancho Digimon and their stories are quite intertwined. Recently, this group was used in an official Web Novel called Digimon Seekers. It is nice that they seem to be getting more attention as their story really was quite sparse. Commandramon- The most basic of the D-Brigade. Their standard soldiers and many people consider them basically Camo Agumon with a gun. Your bonus names are ACTUALLY quite spot on for fans guessing their names. Their name is actually based on Commando, not Commander. Sealsdramon- Only 1/100 of all Commandramon can evolve into a Sealsdramon. Now... fans actually wondered what the other 99/100 became, so quite recently (and I know you are going to show it) they revealed the standard evolution for Commandramon. They are based on the Navy SEALS. Tankdramon- Now this guy is a bit of an unusual change. Sealsdramon are assassins that earn high bodycounts from using stealth and stabbing. Suddenly they evolve into an Anti-Riot creature focused on eliminating hordes of enemies. They can shoot out literal nukes and their gatling guns can just mow down any digimon Champion or lower quite easily. Only one has ever been taken down in the history of the D-Brigade and it leads into a future entry. Cargodramon- Here is actually a new one that debuted in Digimon Seekers. They are transport Digimon evolved from Hi-Commandramon that have been modified using blueprints taken from military computers that were hacked. They can carry either 1 Tankdramon or 1 Hi-Commandramon and 5 Commandramon, making them really useful for suppressing enemies quickly. Their name is quite on the nose actually, since they can transport more than just fighters. The aircraft you guys were thinking of is the Tiltrotor. Brigadramon- Another new one. The lore has quite a lot to do with the next digimon you looked at, Darkdramon. They realized that they kinda messed up with Darkdramon after the upgrades caused it to go amok and focus soley on hunting down the Digimon that caused it so much pain. So they instead focused on upgrades that could allow one of their best to become a tactical commander of their army, thus Brigadramon was born. He will go solo into the battleground, aiming to take out threats to the weaker members of the D-Brigade before commanding the Cargodramon to send in the suppression force. Once Brigadramon was perfected and shipped out, the Darkdramon fiasco that cast a shadow over the organization was all but forgiven. Brigadramon's success rate in battle was almost perfect. Currently only 3 are ready for combat, but due to their success, more are going to be upgraded (AKA the most promising of Cargodramon and Tankdramon are going to be allowed to evolve). Note: Brigadramon actually has a lot of similarities to WarGreymon and it adds to the theory that Commandramon is an Agumon subspecies. Darkdramon- In a battle with BanchoLeomon, a Tankdramon was shot down and defeated. Not dying, the D-Brigade tried to incorporate "Dark Matter" into the body of the fallen soldier. The fusion was successful, but the soldier went crazy, broke out and is said to be a lost cause. The result kinda threw their research into disarray as they basically had to delay their biomechanical engineering to figure out what the hell happened. The D-Brigade has not been able to locate the individual and it has become a great shame to their reputation, but it is rumored he is hunting his nemesis to this day. The name is based on the fact that he was injected with Dark Matter. Hi-Commandramon: As stated above, Sealsdramon is a special evolution that only 1/100 can evolve into. The other 99/100 become Hi-Commandramon, going into standard combat and becoming the shield guard to advance with the normal Commandramon. Apparently his name is a reference to Hi-gh Tech, which their gear is noted to be quite high tech compared to normal Commandramon. Note: This guy also looks VERY similar to MetalGreymon. Another detail that supports the theory mentioned above.
I really wish you had shown them the clip of Sealdramon killing people in the anime. Anyway, I love the D-Brigade. I have a D-Brigade/DigiPolice deck in the tcg
I think Mitch was thinking of a VTOL aircraft. The propellers rotate upward for vertical take off like a helicopter and then the propellers rotate forward
Darkdramon! Just went off on my own search not knowing this'd crop up, wondering "who was that really cool digimon that digivolved from weregarurumon in digimon world ds". Always loved this guy.
The reason why Darkdramon is called ‘Darkdramon’ is because it used to be a Tankdramon that was shot down in a mission to take down a target code named ‘BAN-TYO’. That Tankdramon was then taken to a D-Brigade facility where it was rebuilt and proceeded to Digivolve. However, during the Digivolution process, it absorbed some dark matter and the resulting Mega form, being Darkdramon, went berserk. Brigadramon is basically Darkdramon 2.0, being the D-Brigade’s way of rectifying their mistake
As someone who isn't a Digimon fan, gotta say, I really love this batch of designs. The color schemes really work, and even if (SPOILERS, the third)mon feels a bit over-designed, everything else here is solid. I personally really love (the fourth)mon, it's great.
A digimon anime quiz. You show a picture of a digimon and they have to guess what that digimon digivolves into in the anime based on the name or photos. Typically in the anime, theres one digivolution i think
So in the early days of Digimon, the greymon line was implied to be created by hackers splicing Digimon data together. Later on the d-brigade is implied to also have been created from the same hackers. Greymon is given kabuterimon data for the helmet/horns. Metal greymon then is made a cyborg to both keep it alive and make it stronger. And wargreymon is the perfected outcome born from natural digivolution. Machinedramon is the outcome where they further experiment with cyborg parts and the biological components die. Also the virus greymon is where the flesh starts to decompose but hasn't fully. And skullgreymon is when the flesh decomposes entirely. These are all failed outcomes. The D-brigade is essentially the final product after learning what they did with the greymon experiments. This is why the d-brigade line almost follows the greymon line exactly. With a war themed version of each greymon, Even the ultimate level follows the machine aspect with turning into vehicles for one stage then going more humanoid like WarGreymon. Some of this may not be exactly right since I've been a fan since i was a kid and I may not remember everything exactly the way it was. But I was super excited when the new evos came out because the old ones didn't fit the same greymon style and didn't make sense to me. Also maybe spoilers for a possible future video but Darkdramon's DNA digivolved form is supposed to look a little like omnimon because of this connection and that's why it's referred to being something that shouldn't exist.
I don't know Hi-Commandramon, but here was my reasoning: I know there's a digimon known as Andromon, and it digivolves into a Hi-Andromon, and if I remember right, the main difference between them is that Andromon is gray, and Hi-Andromon is red, just like Hi-Commandramon's helmet. Said helmet also looks a lot like Andromon's helmet to me, especially the signature square eyehole it has, so I guessed that it was somehow related to Hi-Andromon and guessed the right name Still dunno for sure if Andromon has anything to do with it, but I got to the right answer
I really like the D-Brigade so I got some facts! So! Before 2023 the D-Brigade was just Commandramon, Sealsdramon, Tankdramon, & Darkdramon (in that order of evolution). Then Hi-Commandramon, Cargodramon, & Brigadramon were added in 2023 (another comment goes into some more detail). In the lore of Sealsdramon it mentions how Commandramon have to go through a special test that only 1/100 pass, the 1 who passes becomes a Sealsdramon. I always thought "hey what happens to the other 99" & we finally have an answer, they become Hi-Commandramon! It is also said that only one Tankdramon has ever fallen in battle, shot down trying to eliminate a target codenamed "BAN-TYO". The D-Brigade revived it & it became Darkdramon, thats why its dark, its all evil & stuff. Darkdramon is not the leader of the D-Brigade, its closer to a wild crazed animal. It escaped so it could find & kill codename "BAN-TYO". If you're curious who the leaders of the D-Brigade are... we don't know, its a complete mystery. You may realize something here. With Darkdramon being a special case & there only being 1 of it in lore. That means before 2023 there was no normal mega for the D-Brigade. The line ended at Tankdramon. I'm glad we have more now because they just didn't make sense to me before. Also I don't remember if you've used this guy before. But when Darkdramon finds codename "BAN-TYO" aka BanchoLeomon, they fuse & become Chaosmon. My favorite digimon. It's all glitchy & messed up because it's a fusion of two digimon who absolutely hate eachother & do no want to work together. Now time to watch that Spectrobes video!
Sealsdramon>Tankdramon>Darkdramon was, if I recall, a sort of "dark digivolution"/forced/artificial, which is part of why it's so. Different. Versus the newer line revealed, featuring Hi-Commandramon>Cargodramon>Brigadramon which bear more resemblance to Greymon and WarGreymon, being the proper/natural digivolution line
Sealsdramon is the "elite" evolution; Hi-Commandramon is basically the default one. Basically the special forces and the regular infantry, respectively.
One day they will finally reach my favorite nonsensical Digimon, and today was the closest, so I hope it's done for the spite play against Nico instead
Yet another fun episode! I think I'm gonna need to watch the Spectrobes one after this (I'm very Digimon biased so I tend to watch these more than anything). The high praise it at the end definitely makes me excited for it, haha. I'll be honest, I was a little uncomfy about the helicopter joke, being a trans person myself, but I'm gonna assume y'all were just trying to be silly and not thinking too deeply about it. I hope so, anyway. Regardless, happy to see the D-Brigade getting some love here (if we can call it that). I feel like they were a little better received than some other Digimon, I'll say that. I didn't hear too many groans.
Glad you enjoyed, and I hope you enjoy the Spectrobes video as well! You are completely right, I made the helicopter joke exclusively because I remembered it being a prominent joke years ago and failed to think any deeper before speaking. You have my apologies for making you uncomfortable.
Came out in 2023 so did cargomon the8r used only be like 4 digimon in the d- brigade line but the 2023 digimon seekers had the police force use d-brigade digimon so they invented some new d-brigade ro flesh out the faction
If you guys decide to watch the anime one day, I highly recommend watching the sub version. Because a lot of scenes were changed or censored in the dub version and the soundtrack of the japanese version is really memorable specially the evolution songs. And if you watched, start with the pilot OVA because it's very important
