Many thanks, how often should i do this routine? I am 68 and diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the vertebrae of my neck. The pain and lack of mobility is worse on the left side.

I have Cervical Radiculopathy from osteophyte complex for 2 1/2 years now. Unfortunately I have been through every type of treatment nearly imaginable with no resolution of symptoms and stretching your neck does ZERO. Upper body strengthening along with a Cervical Denneroll/Neck wedge is the only thing that helped at all. Neck stretching only helps for a tiny but of time.

We are so sorry to hear that you have cervical radiculopathy from osteophyte formation and so sorry to hear you have had a poor outcome from treatment. We are certain you have probably looked at this routine already but have you spoken to a neurologist or spinal surgeon? We would always encourage less invasive treatment first but if you are still struggling they more in-depth treatment or investigation may be needed?

@@OsteoandPhysio Neurosurgen on Monday said not a disc bulge and my neck looks great. Previous MRI said mild bilateral Neuroforminal stenosis. The Neurosurgen suggested off the cuff that it may be arthritis in the spine. He said "nothing that requires surgery." I wanted to say "yah right... no one wants any kind of surgery but when your symptoms never resolved but there is a potential origin of it..please refer me to someone who could help." Bankrupt medical industry and I even work at a hospital. So my PCP suggested seeing an Orthopedic Surgeon due to it possibly being arthritis and the the narrowing of the foramin. Sigh. People really don't need to stop there they need to refer people to whom may help or guide you. Just bizarre and ethically awful.

@@nrp5791 I’m sorry your going through that I have arthritis in my neck and it’s the worst pain and nothing helps it makes me really worried about the future I’m 23 and it’s just a damn nightmare so I really feel for you. Did you see a physical therapist ?

@@jordynnicole4842 Yes I have seen two. I highly recommend a Rehabilitation and Sports PT or something close. The upper body strengthening helped a lot. Now I unfortunately have neuropathic numbness and tingling into my face including tongue and clips. My right eye also twitches and random headaches. Went to my PCPs clinic today and basically got evaluated for an anti-anxiety medication. This is due to no one finding any cause for these symptoms. I'm not sure but I am under high stress and anxiety. If these are all coming from that this is crazy. Hope this helps you.❤

@@nrp5791 thankyou so much Nolan your so sweet for the help. The anxiety is the worst with this to , it causes way to many issues from anxiety , pain , fatigue ahh just a mess I’m glad to hear that helped somewhat this is good news but yeah I def think your experiencing anxiety it’s all connected to your nervous system. I have been dealing with panic attacks like bad ones where I think I’m legit dying I have went to the ER over 50 times in the past year I’m finally getting anxiety meds. Ugh it’s a process for all of this.

You should not massage the side of your neck. You have baroreceptors, that if rubbed can seriously decrease your heart rate, causing you to faint.
