"Angelina Jordan (born Angelina Jordan Astar; 10 January 2006) is a Norwegian singer now living in Los Angeles, whose audition for the 2014 season of Norway's Got Talent, singing "Gloomy Sunday" in the style of Billie Holiday, became a viral video online and brought her worldwide press coverage at the age of 8. She went on to win the competition with her performance of George Gershwin's "Summertime". Since then she has worked to raise millions of dollars on behalf of environmental causes and children's charities around the world. She always performs barefoot, after befriending a young shoeless girl and giving her shoes to her. Hi Fam, If we start with the man/woman in the mirror, as MJ sang, we can change the world. Not everyone can gather millions of USD, but maybe we help our elderly neighbors, carrying their groceries in. I found, helping other people is good invested love. Your elderly neighbors might in turn watch out for your kiddies. But as AJ said in her diary ar 6 yo "to help another human, is like climbing a stair of light to the heaven." In reality, it´s the small things that count. Here is a true story from a village in Northern Germany: Someone had the idea of a hewvy metal festival in their little neck of the woods, and it worked. Suddenly there was the roaring of bikes and guys and gals in leather, looking rough, came into the village. Everybody tried to hide, but little old Grannie and her lots of groceries had problems handling it. A wild looking man walked to her: Madam may I help you carrying?? Grannie saw that this man was no threat and said yes please. They became friends until she died, but the wild people are still welcome in Wacken, one of the biggest festival for heavy metal. I always love your reactions. Here, Angelina gives us a sincere, compassionate, HEARTFELT, rendition. It was a perfect, elegant example of making a plea for all to show you care. At age 6-7, she took the shoes off her own feet to give them to an orphan sitting on a dusty street in the Middle East, charging people to stand on her scale.. after their brief conversation, Angelina was deeply impacted by that encounter... She demonstrated that it's one thing to SYMPATHIZE with a less fortunate person... But, Angelina took it another level and showed COMPASSION... By taking off the shoes from her feet & gave them to that girl... Vowing to always sing barefoot as a tribute to all the children in need around the world. She even donated the winnings from Norway's Got Talent to Children's Charities... Quincy Jones told Angelina that she is the biggest thing since Michael Jackson You Don’t Own Me remember when Leslie Gore released this in the 60's, but it was not even close to AJ's cover. Lesley Gore and producer Quincy Jones at work in the studio. The two collaborated on "You Don't Own Me" and a handful of other 1960s hits. I hope everyone knows the contribution Quincy Jones has made to the music industry. The Thank you at the beginning was adressed to the king's son and to the foreign minister, who represented the Norwegian government on this virtual royal visit.

I would like to remind once again what is special about this spectacular performance. Angelina received an invitation to this official event *"virtual visit from Crown Prince Haakon of Norway to the state of California"* , which was held in this form because of the pandemic. Angelina's live performance was part of this event via *Livestream* . Angelina's welcoming words were primarily addressed directly to the Crown Prince,those responsible and the World. 👣💯 *AJ* 💯👣 BTW, I suspect Angelina didn't choose this song for nothing. 🤗

e pluribus u-num With all the gimmicks that are used in what is known as music today it is so refreshing to come across a being that does not need auto tune, lightshows, dancers, outrageous costumes, bands, or orchestras to cover their weaknesses because she has none. AJ can perform a Capella, or with one or two instruments to follow her lead and give you chills with each performance. I have always enjoyed all genres of music, and being 75, I have experienced the best the industry has to offer, from the early 50s, to 2023, but I have never been moved emotionally in the past anywhere close to what Angelina Jordan does from 7 to 17. When I heard Celine Dion perform in a tint in Québec when she was a child, I predicted she would be the next world superstar, and the rest is history. Celine did not sign a record contract until she was in her early 20s. David Foster, who made Celine a star flew to Norway after Angelina wone NGT and tried to sign her, but her family wanted to stay in control of her future. Angelina, at 13, appeared on AGT and getting worldwide recognition signed with the largest record company in the world at age 14, Republic Records. The story is that Monty Lipman, the CEO personally signed her even without meeting AJ, he was shown a video of her performance. Angelina Jordan will be the next Super Nova very soon. Good seeing you guys back with Angelina. She has so much to offer in her music. Still amazes me how much some parts of her MJ songs actually sound like MJ. No doubt she has learned some of his vocal qualities to add to her musical tool bag. Love this one with the vocal quivering (wrong label I know) heard in some places. She was a teen then, mostly grown up. The ages from 8-12 seemed to be exceptional developmental years vocally. Many consider her 10 year old recording of a new song she was asked to demo to be her best song to that date and beyond. It was an exceptional song in every way, an amazing collaboration between song writer Baby FuzZ, and singer. Like many of the jazz and blues songs she's done, it captures the emotions of yearning love, disappointment, struggling, aching heart, distress, and despair. It is impossible for me to pick a "BEST" song, because I think they are all amazing, but Yes, "I'm Still Holding Out For You" is definitely one of the top recordings. It amazes me as to how much feeling and emotion she puts in this song, almost as though she actually lived through it, and maybe she has in one of her lives. If pressured to pick a favorite, I always reply, "The last one I heard her sing". 😉

@@RNTV The song was never released by Angelina and is considered "leaked". Speculation is that it is due to the subject matter. This was a 'demo' recording she did before the artist Baby FuzZ ever performed it. This phenomenal performance is one of my Angelina's favorites. The greatest global megahit that never was.

Great reaction Mike & Jess, you really should watch the original, especially since the theme is what you stand for. Although she used a voice similar to Michael, especially at the beginning, she made this very much her own, telling the story in her heartfelt, emotional way. I think that beautiful "ad lib" run at the very end, was Angelina's way of signing this beautiful work of art. Try to replicate that!!!

The penetration she is able to accomplish by utilizing her 'jazz roots' is truly mesmerizing. Michael did it 'Pop' style and was exceptional. But this girl is embedded with the essence of Billie Holiday and when it comes to singing a heartfelt ballad, Billie's 'breathy', 'whisper-like' techniques are something only Angelina can emulate. She has stated that if not for Billie, she wouldn't be the singer she is and this is a perfect illustration of that.

She has a new single coming out later this month. It’s supposed to be an original. I believe it is taken from her new album that will be released later this year. Per Angelina, the album will be all originals and have a retro 60s vibe and it will be her first for Republic Records. It’s her first album since It’s Magic which was released 5 years ago. I understand that the release will be followed by concert performances. Can’t wait.
