Peter. You could carve out some of that rainforest out the back (it's getting smothered in vines anyway) and plant a bunch of fruit trees. Jackfruit, Rambutan, Marang. Lanzone. Mango etc etc
I just found you on RU-vid and my wife and I loved the video of your home. We were looking closely to your video and we honestly think that you are living in the same house and unit we lived in when I was stationed in Subic. I was stationed in Subic all the way until the based closed in 1992. We actually lived in that house during Mt. Pinatubo. So my wife and I were the last military family in your home. We are so shocked to see the house. It looks awesome. Right now we are retired in Iloilo Philippines.
Nice place. I was in the US Navy, and lived in the military housing around the time of the Mt Pinatubo eruption. It is very sturdy, and handles typhoons, earthquakes, and volcanoes pretty well. Bombs, not so much. :)
I can't believe we got the same Panasonic Aircon I bought here in California it was an impulse buy when I felt the cool air reach the cashier area at the store from about 50 feet away. Anyways it's easy to maintain just clean the foam filters every year behind the plastic grill. I keep my thermostat at 12 o clock on auto and your set.
How many square meters is the block of land? Is it a stand alone block or duplex? Looks like a stand alone one but I swear I saw a house you lived in that was a duplex in another video
wow.. i was in subic in the seabees..navy .82-3.. tdy to deigo garcia and back to the u.s. i was clark air base before the mountain went off...... nice house big . id get big cats to look for snakes coming down the hills.. id want to live a short walk to the beach..stores.shops.eats..
Peter, you mentioned in another video you pay 280$US/month. So I now saw this video...not sure I understand...you mean that's the total price? Seems surreal to me.
Awesome house. Love, love your landscaping, birds chirping, I hear a rooster, and love the dogs running around. I am looking for a small house with water view to rent temporarily but not sure yet where to settle down....salamat for your videos.
Thats a lovely house in Subic bay u have there.....Well done Mate....Me and my wife lived in Olongapo at Gordon Heights on rent untill 2018 till we bought our own house in Clark Pampanga.
I think I like Subic bay best. The infrastructure that the US left there is nice. The area and climate is kinda like northern OZ?! I love the house. You guys are well organized and cute couple. You are not far from home are you? Maybe just over 3,000 US miles. My friend married a Filipina woman and brought her back to Arizona. To far for me at present. If I lived in OZ it would be much cheaper living in Subic Bay fer sure! English speaking, non communist and basically Christian is a big plus!
Needs some major updating inside and furniture modernizing also. Kitchen cabinets modular style is way better, and UPvc windows etc. Nevertheless potential to be a decent house.
Hello PJ. let me get this straight- you are leasing this house for around $250 USD over 25 years with an option to renew at 25 years. And you could sublet/relet the house for around $1200 US?
My son is a dual citizen because his mom is Filipino . I can buy what ever I want in my price range and put it in his name as the owner. He isn't interested in the Philippines at all he was born and raised in the USA . So when I retire I can take my time and rent and if I feel like buying I have that option.
Hi just found your channel ,,, I'm from Melbourne Australia ,,are you living there fulltime ? hope to catch up for a beer on my next trip ,,,cheers Dino
Nice videoclip, mate', thank you for sharing. How did you manage to do Whit the legal side, when you bought it,wat did you make to be on your name, the Hose only ,or the land to??
Is that in Binictican Housing, Kalayaan Housing or Cubi Point Housing? Thanks for the reply...nice house, though. Also how many square meters of the land and how many sq.meters for the house alone? Please tell me also how many bedrooms there and toilet/bathrooms?
Very nice , I especially liked the terrazo floors which you didn't comment on... they haven't been used in the USA for almost 50 years (labor cost and health problems with the dust for the workers that grind them)... with the poured cement roof you could lay down 3"-4" sheet foam panels to reduce the heat... and install ductless mini-split AC to eliminate the inefficient and ugly room AC units. Overall a very nice home in a great location.
Mr Bahoo How am I bullshit? I keep saying it's "leasehold" throughout the video. What was I dishonest about? Nothing. Actually your the idiot really because leasehold is still a form of ownership this is NOT a traditional one year rental. Go ahead pay 3-4X for your rental. I will enjoy my leasehold property.
Sir you have a beautiful home. I will assume that you own your own business in your home country or just born wealthy. Is my assumption correct? Im a Filipino American living in Arizona USA who dreams of someday I can live there as well. But discourage cause it's simply out of reach for me at the moment. Can you share how you sustain your lifestyle in the Philippines. Im a new subscriber who wants to see more of your life and adventure in the Subic area and other communities. Great job and Im looking forward for more video postings!
+ALM Yes many people have asked me the same question. No just really average. Go to my channel page and look for the video "make money online" it explains how I do it ;) your dream is very possible especially if you save some money in USA first.
How are you buy property in the Philippines as a foreigner? Foreigners cannot own land only partial ownership in a condo. Any advise you could give on how to best protect yourself would be appreciated. Thanks
lease 50 years 125 thousand dollars up front and he sublets it out and it will pay for itself in 10 years , then he has full profit for the next 40 years , 480 thousand dollars ! and then he can re lease again for another 25 years ,
+Bobby Wehrman Watch some more of my videos on Subic Bay for more info. Best advice is to go there in person take a look and proceed slowly but surely. Can't find listings online most are word of mouth and thru local sources.
Recent subscriber and giving serious thought to making the expat move. However I'm retired so rental would be my better choice. I would need the space of a house as I'm an artist and require studio space. Based on your past videos and those of others, the Subic Bay area seems to be a good choice, is $400 /$500 monthly rental possible?, or is that just wishful thinking. By the way, marry that girl. She seems to be a real keeper. 😀 Thanks in advance should you reply.
+zel lez Before no not expensive. However fewer listings available now and people want more money. So it's starting to get a bit expensive yes that's true.
That's the thing that killed me the most living in Siquijor, Dumaguete and Sibilan. I could NOT find a good place for good internet. And I have internet businesses so I need it. Headed to Cebu but am going to seriously check out Subic. I just need GREAT INTERNET If I am going to live in the Philippines. Second would be the quiet. :-)
3:42 I assume your joking but I found this "better be" the best wife speech chilling. Are you the best husband? White men married to younger attractive Filipina have a bad reputation, if you don't want to be thought of as one of those you need to show more respect. My wife is from the Philippines and we have been married 26 years together for 31. This is not the humble approach you need to be respected by Filipinos.
I am interested in a two, three or four bedroom house and lot in Subic Bay. Wife is a dual citizen, I am retired military. Not fussy but I want something decent. I am more interested in long term lease than in purchase. Please advise.
I was born and raised in subic Bay . My family still owns 2 city blocks there . It’s fun to see how things have changed since I last visited 19 years ago. Hopefully I will be able to see where you are at, when I attend the family re-union this coming December .
+Heart Lion 100% legally allowed to put it in your own name. Its a "Leasehold title" which lasts for fifty years and is renewable every twenty five years for a nominal fee to the government. Foreigners CAN legally own in there OWN name 1. Condo title and 2. Leasehold title
Property Club ,, let me understand, so you dont own the land you live on,upon your demise the property reverts back to the government? Not sure I understand it fully, also where and how do you find these properties in the phi,and is there a down payment involved,I like to know how you find such properties and the process from start to finish involved to attain them, btw you have a cool gf,I like your channel,,,tnx
Heart Lion It's leasehold land based on the term of the lease issued by the government. It's renewable every 25 years for a nominal fee to the government. This is not a new concept, it's simple a different form of "title ownership". Google different title types to get a better understanding. For example Condo title and leasehold title foreigners can own. Freehold title foreigners cannot own. You need to find places in PI with leasehold titles. Very few places that I do know of, Clark Pampanga and Subic Bay are two examples.
You really don't own the property, the properties within SBMA are on a long term lease basis (usually for 50 years). If you got the place from a previous lessee, you're left with the remaining number of years on the lease but it can be renewed with the SBMA authority depending that there are no changes in the housing authority rules
+In Toxicated Good idea! I will have another look. We did find one place that had nice beds hand made but VERY expensive wanted 60K per bed frame! I only want to spend make 1/6th of that 😂
Australia was voted one of the nicest places to live on earth.i never understand why aussies move away from Australia.sidney is the best place on earth to live
Seriously, you really have to stop looking at the view finder or screen... look into the camera.... the centre dot.... it’s so much more professional and for the viewer it would be like you are talking to them.... just my 2 cents...... nice house.
I don't want to rain on your parade mate but she is going to take you to the cleaners. Notice she said "My house" alarm bells are ringing. The Jim Bean will probably kill you. I would say it is metho and colouring.
Tonka Goldman. Thanks for the warning but peter is fully aware of that and he is very smart guy, he knows his thing and he knows how to protect it. Everything he owns here in the Philippines is under his name. We are not married and even if we'll get married in the future I would voluntarily sign prenup agreement with him. I Never asked him to buy any property and put it under my name because the last thing I want to argue about is money and My parents taught me not to claim anything we didn't work hard for. Peter actually choose SBMA because he knows he can legally own it and not deal with any bullshit later if we aren't really meant for each other. I maybe claimed the house mine because Its going to be our future family home and not because I would steal it or I'm going to take it from him.
Tonka Goldman to be fair with you, If my brother has this much money and all the properties that pete has. I would tell him to be careful aswell because that is the reality and it happens around the world, not only in Philippines
arianne I did not realise there were good girls like you still in this world, and my deepest apology for underestimating you. I think Pete could use some feedback on his videos... some of his street smarts would be of infinite value to us kind hearted Aussies who step into a jungle over there without anything to protect ourselves. Our hearts are too big for our own good. Nice meeting you, thank you for your calm and polite reply and i wish you both eternal happiness.
+Tonka Goldman Dont just understimate filipina.Filipina are majority loyal to her partner.Bcoz we value family not for money.Yes we need, everybody needs money. If ur affraid to lost ur money dont get a woman in ur life if ur only mind is all women are after ur money.Money is nothing if ur alone and lonely.Goodluck to u😊
