This makes me want to be even more loving to my wonderful husband who is very fit and alert at 81 years old. A lot of us "abled couples" could use a little upgrading in the tender loving care that you show each other.
I took care of my late husband like this for 5 years before he succumbed to his disease...I was lucky to be able to do that, no a burden at all, it made me who I am today and I still love him as much 20 years later.

My condolences 💐 but we need to be more open. Your husband fell ill and it’s our duty to be there through sickness and health. In this couple’s case she chose to marry a person who’s been disabled much of his entire life. And his condition is more than just bring on a wheelchair. He has a very serious muscle atrophy. So in a sense she’s his care giver. They didn’t like Dr. Phil’s comments about this for another couple. It’s not sincere if we don’t acknowledge reality! That’s all!

I was a care taker for many people with cebral palsy’s, quadriplegics and other conditions that caused inability to live independently and I give you so much credit doing this 24/7 Hannah. It’s a lot and people don’t always understand not only the physical but emotional toll it takes being a care giver. Shane is amazing and totally deserves the love and respect, but j just wanted you to know how great YOU are. Much love
Thank you for smashing down the stereotypes for our kids! One of the most heartbreaking things a Dr said to me about our son with additional support needs while he was an infant in my arms was ‘he will never be a husband or a father!’ How wrong that idiot will be!
You will all be very please to know that we ignored that idiot, never went back to him and our son is living his best life, he was born with T21 known by most as Down Syndrome. He is a business owner, travels and is a keen fisherman and beloved Son, Grandson, uncle, brother and a new uncle to our beautiful grandchild. He’s represented our state for Judo, qualified for national competition and was invited to the US for a international All abilities Judo competition. He is truly an awesome son. He has his eye on a young lady and we will see if that leads to anything. He’s only 22 so he has many years ahead to see if he wants to marry and as for fatherhood well that doesn’t define you as a person in this world so we are cool with what ever! When people told us he ‘couldn’t’ we said ‘what him’ His next adventure is our latest trip we are planning to the USA and he’s planning all the daredevil activities with his 19 year old brother….LoL

I am 1/2 half of an interabled couple , I learned that word from you, so it is so nice to watch the two of you. I am 70 and my other half is 65. This video reminded me to be more compassionate and loving to my partner. Thanks for sharing your life. See you next time.
My husband is disabled (he’s an amputee whose prosthetic has never been optimal), and we don’t really like the idea of “interabled”. My half of our union is the normal, daily chores. Cooking and cleaning and such as well as being his caregiver. His half is when anything breaks or doesn’t work, he fixes it. Got into my car yesterday and it wouldn’t start. Today it’s back and running perfectly. If I had to take care of those things I’d panic and have to spend a whole lot of money. Shane is so intelligent that I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the “fix it brain” for the two of them.
As A health care aide who has worked in home care with a quadriplegic person since 2015 I just want to say Hannah your doing an amazing job I love to see the sheep skin too and the way you just smile and laugh whole getting ready for bed and how the care is just part of your day it’s nothing out the ordinary it just so awesome to see I love it all !! -Alice
And she made it seem like it was pretty quick and easy to prepare them both for bed. I have lived alone most of my life and so I am used to doing everything myself. I guess special needs are most of the time are not very burdensome and when you love someone it doesn’t feel like a burden more like an honor. Hannah is a strong women but that how we grown them in our home state. ❤️
There is no such thing as a ‘quadriplegic person’. There’s no excuse for putting a disability label before a person. An empowering and inclusive term is ‘person with quadriplegia’.

Have you ever visited a tilt up building or only stick framed buildings? Have you been to the grocery store or driven a ford truck or ridden the high speed train? Did you ever play with the red ball, or notice the beautiful model? Have you talked to a Native American person, do black lives matter, did the award winning writer give a great speech, would you be afraid of a serial killer free in your city? Good or bad, the English language standard is to use a descriptor before the subject, yet you want people to ignore that standard for this one case. Sure, I get your point. It drives me crazy when people say "I'm not trying to get hurt while having fun today," when they should say they want to avoid it or are trying not to get hurt. There is a difference, even if it is subtle to people. Of course they are not trying to get hurt, but people often don't mean what they say and say what they mean. I can't argue at all with you reversing the order and the reason for it, but the world isn't black and white or perfect, so I disagree that there is no excuse for using a disability label before the person.
The love you guys show to each other is beyond the physical. It literally is a spiritual one that us mere mortals can’t comprehend. You both are old souls and this is the kind of love that you get to have when you have reached your golden age. But you guys have it now while you are so young. You guys are blessed. Love you both. A virgin turning into a sex god over night and these girls are so lucky to be with him that they even get paid for it, yes highly believable for sure 👍

Take really good care of yourself, Hannah. When we got married in 1984, I was 23, strong, capable, unafraid. I was able to do whatever needed to help my handicapped spouse. Now, nearly 40 years later, I am myself disabled by Ankylosing Spondylitis and fibromyalgia. Physically, life is much more challenging. You are young and strong now. Plan for the possibility that you might need help. You guys are such great communicators and it really helps to be able to talk about feelings. Best wishes!
-- I agree. No matter what our level of fitness is, we all have to prepare for the future. We don't have children, and we're getting old. We had to plan how we would approach old age, with no children to help us. I'm sure it will be like that for Shane and Hannah. They are hoping for children. Hopefully their children will be as kind and loving as they are to each other, and help in the waning years.

It’s amazing what we can do when you love someone, my husband had Alzheimers, passed away in Jan. 2021 after a long, sad battle with this Alzheimers, there where times towards the end where he needed more help, I never gave it another thought, just did it with love.

Your videos touch me deeply. My son is the same age as Shane and has Duchene MD. He looks very much like Shane and his function is similar other than my son needs a machine to breathe, has a PEG for feeding, has a blood condition requiring frequent blood transfusions and spinal rods. He weighs about the same. He likes to watch your show and shares Shane's humor. It's very touching to see the love and care between you both and a bit sad for me knowing my son doesn't have that intimacy. Thank you for being here xxx

My client at work and his wife did this for many years. He was injured in a car accident 1 year after marriage. This is a beautiful display of love! She has now gotten to old to care for him anymore and it’s my pleasure to help them continue to be able to live together! ❤️
