Ive never thought that the line "there's a crack in the wall" refered to persephone seeing Orpheus getting through it! This has so much personality I'm glad someone animated this song

Things I LOVED: - The shades appearing as shadows when Seph turned the light on - Persephone KICKING that poor faucet - The facial expression on "THERE'S A CRACK IN THE WAAAAAALL" - Poor disgruntled Hermes - AGH YOU KILLED IT OVERALL RPIGAREPIHNGKIERWNHPFPOWH

mmm somethign about persephone filling cups + raising spirits (hehe) wherever she goes, even though it's never enough to fix the problems they still have when she leaves again

You put ALL of Persephone's personality into this, it's bombastic and phenomenal

Oh my god… This is the first animatic I’ve seen that shows the same mental image I had when first listening to the concept album years ago-Orpheus breaking through the wall in a pool of golden light as Persephone sings “There’s a crack in the wall!” And then the band intros! Iconic. (Although I’m pretty sure Robinson Morse plays the upright bass, not bass guitar.)

oh joy to the world !!! i really like how persephone's hair is followed by little petals. hermes being a spotter while persephone deals is just a really funny concept. also the crack in the wall coinciding with orpheus getting into hadestown in wait for me. very good animatic i enjoy this greatly

I LOVE!!!! 3:25 -- Absolutely ECSTATIC! 4:10 -- ahh incorporating the meta band introduction into it as an actual thing love....The image of her giving these people back the names they have forgotten 😭😭😭 4:47 -- god i adore just how BIG the liquor cabinet is, it's an entire WALL of it... 5:01 -- Love how spontaneous this feels, so out of nowhere, so petty~ Like just listening to the song byt itself it doesn't feel like that in my brain, but NOW watching this. It just feels like so much longer, I'm just absorbed in the cheer and party feel! And then suddenly she's saddling next to Hermes to make sure he knows she knows and she DOESN'T CARE (totally not) fuck her husband. 5:14 -- *SNORTS* that cracked me up BHGFHJBGDFHBHGFDBHJ from a tiny flask to an ENTIRE bottle, she's not drunk enough for this 5:17 -- LMAO she just KEEPS. GOING chug, chug, chug...! 5:20 -- PERFECTION

IVE BEEN WAITING FOR A “our lady of the underground” ANIMATIC FOR SO LONG ON RU-vid BY ANYBODY… and this is the first one i’ve seen so far!!! 😭😭 its so good, i always love analyzing your sketches ‘n whatnot when it comes to these!! and as well as being a trombonist/musician; i love how you incorporated the band into this as well!!! this musical is definitely somethin i want to try playing with my trombone one day, and this animatic rlly puts a smile on my face (: !! the way you express and draw Persephone is so good OMLLLLL !!!!

Honestly, my favorite song from the whole musical and definitely my most loved performance was of Persephone's. I really admire your depiction of her. And the way you don't really care about how neat your storyboards are and just depict the movement that's still readable Never Fails to surprise me! One of my favorite pieces of yours!

something i love about your animatics is that many people will straight up the instrumental intro when animating because its easier to just interpet the lyrics literally, but you do a great job of using the intro to set up the atmosphere of the song

OOOO the expression at the the was captivating!! seph's expressions the entire time were great. good forshadowing for later with giving us shots of the instruments at the beginning. I loved hermes throughout the whole thing, in his disaproval and slight worry. RLLY loved the shots using the lighting to illuminate the spirits. and mmmmm the intro where we get to see the crack was super good. i enjoyed your choice to have the drinks be one of the few light things. almost as if it's one of the few things that brings light to the workers lives. your expressions are still somehow getting better!! and theyre already great. also seph's dynamic jump shot was amazing. amazing job as always! sorry i didnt realize you had posted T-T
