Stayed at the Mirage for our honeymoon in July 1990 after travelling from Australia. This Hotel was ahead of it's time and transformed Las Vegas. Saw the Sigfreid and Roy show which was spectacular. The Volcano show was packed every night. Also saw Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman having fun drinking and gambling at the Mirage. Great memories!
Awesome tour...I stayed there in 1991 back when it was $62 per night with no resort fees. I still remember the distinctive smell of the hotel as well as that amazing fish tank...sad to see it closing and under new management
So sad to see The Mirage go 😢 My first time there was in 92 on my first trip to Vegas from MI. I got to see the Siegfried and Roy show on my 2nd trip. I live in St. George UT now, so we visit Vegas quite often. Mirage has always been one of my faves by far. Strip won't be the same without the volcano. Although the strip has changed so much already over the last several years. Thanks for your tour ❤
I am always glad to see one of your Vegas videos! Very down to earth at whatever you do! We have been in and through the Mirage but never stayed there so am glad to see your tour. I like the domed garden too but it remains to be seen what will happen to that. Best to you for always giving us your honest takes! Best!
Its not getting closed it's getting rebranded as hard rock with a new sign and getting rid of volcano was talking to worker there when we stayed 2 days ago. Shame the volcano is going.
Before the Mirage was there , there was a budget rent a car and a Chevron gas station if I remember correctly. I walked from the old Aladdin to rent a car in the very early 80ies. Was just there in September going to miss it😭
We were just there at Mirage during NFR rodeo finals Dec 3 through 7. The big pool was closed for the season, but the Oasis pool and hot tub were open. Always love your videos. Peace.
Nice video. It reminds me of the older videos you and Colin would do together walking through vegas hotels. I always enjoyed your conversations and thoughts on what you all were seeing.
Resort Tower King is the best. You have separate shower and soaking tub. I'm sure Hard Rock will upgrade the bathrooms although I don't like the trend of no soaking tub, shower only.
Mirage rooms have that excellent set up regarding connectivity by the T-V; they were the first hotel to do it when they did a room revamp. “I want to win”…even though I have a Sigfried and Roy chip from the first time I ever played Blackjack, at $5 a hand, in January 2002. The dealer called Checks Play on me, cause I noted the Paint was gone from the deck, and I won something like 10 hands in succession.
I'm gonna miss The Mirage, I feel like Vegas won't be the same much without it. But I wish Hard Rock the best of luck on making it, and to have The Mirage to stay alive in our spirits. 🥲
I love the Mirage. It has been my favorite overall property for a few years now. If they get rid of the Volcano then I will NEVER stay here again. Resorts World and MGM will get all of my money as soon as the Volcano closes.
The Mirage has always been a premier attraction and a landmark since we have been going to LVN. They were also the ones that started up the BUFFET trend and when they did it was quite reasonably priced! Excellent++ video!
Before we moved to Vegas, we always stayed at Mirage. When Steve Wynn was Owner/operator it was always awesome. When MGM took over I would say there was a slight dip, but stll pretty good. In recent years a big dip. No telling what the future holds as Hard Rock takes over.
That was very thoughtful of you, Erica, and Colin. I love the Maroge to all miss it. I won’t be back till July. Thank you for all you do. I would be awesome if I could win the chip have a safe holiday Erica calling.
I remember when the Mirage first opened. I was so amazed by the fish tanks in the lobby and that smell you had mentioned in the beginning. Glad I was able to check out the volcano show one last time when I visited during the summer this year.
I love your videos! My brother and sister and I will be back in April. We will try to see you again at your workplace like we did this past April! It was a pleasure to meet you
Not sure if you’re aware, but if you like the way specific resorts/casinos smell on the Strip, that’s by design and the scents are available for purchase at Aroma Retail, a Las Vegas-based business. I’m most fond of the way the Cromwell smells 😊
@@OfficialLILV I’m a dummy, of course you already know about it haha! Funny when us tourists think we made some major discovery that locals are well aware of. Thank you for your videos, helps me feel like I’m there!
Want to win!!! Too bad the security hassled you. The room looked crappy at night but much better in the day. Thank you for taking one last look. The California pizza kitchen has been there since it was a Wynn casino.
Sorry to see the Mirage go...The Mirage was the 1st of the new generation mega-resorts, and was built by Steve Wynn in 1990. Comedian Alan King was talking to Wynn about this new casino he was going to build...and Wynn stated that it would have a huge volcano with a mass of fire coming out of it....Alan King thought to himself......Wynn is pure nuts!!!
I’ve been a subscriber for a long time now since your first Tropicana walk through. Happy to see your channel grow! 🎉of the 3 choices for your next walk through, I’d vote for Planet Hollywood. I’ve stayed at he Mirage in the past and have mixed feelings about it closing. But it’ll be exciting as to how Hard Rock will rebrand it. I hope I can win the the $5 chip; it would make for a great souvenir. Love your channel!😊
Would LOVE to win the Mirage chip. Don't own a chip. Would love to go to Las Vegas just to see the lights and sounds. I've been watching y'all's channel for a super long time, and thoroughly watching enjoy them all (videos). Thank you for taking us with you and your family.
I want to wi. Great video and the mirage will always live on thanks to Chevy Chase and Vegas vacation. The room didn't seem that impresive but how much time does one really stay in their room while in vegas with so much to do
Looks like the AVN Awards moved to Resorts World for the foreseeable future. Wonder if their gonna move into the new Hard Rock Casino once the rebranding and build finishes up? I want to win.
Am I the only one who thinks Hard Rock is making a mistake tearing down the volcano? Last i heard they were taking that down to build some sort of large gutiar. The volcano is such an attraction.
Hi, I like that Casino, You can tell it needs updated, It will be interesting to see what Hard Rock does to it. Maybe there is an opportunity for you to work there Erica.
I have stayed here more than any hotel in Las Vegas. I am so bummed that the HARD ROCK bought this property. I never liked HARD ROCK when I went there before in the past. The Mirage is an icon and HARD ROCK will ruin those memories I have of this place. The Mirage got rid of CARVINGS, their buffet, and that pretty much got rid of me. It is so sad...the management went to crap. I WANT TO WIN!!! too, but this place has sealed my never returning. Colin is a trooper. I cannot sleep in the same bed with my Mom...lol.
I love the Mirage but, also loved the old Hard Rock. I'm excited to see what they will bring to the table. Thank God Colin and I don't toss and turn when sleeping. We stayed on our sides of the bed. And you have been entered.
“There are currently no plans for the Las Vegas Mirage to cease operations as it undergoes a transformation into its next stage as a Hard Rock-branded resort and casino.”
When I was in slotworld she came up and told me to turn it off. I complied and turned it off. Then when I was playing the slots. She came back over thinking I was recording and told me that I had to take the camera up to my room.
Thank you for share. Hard Rock bought The Mirage in Las Vegas and they will operate through 2023 and they shut it down in 2024 for new one Guitar hotel tower grand opening in 2026.. Bye Bye Mirage..
Yes, I would love to win the chip as a momento to the Mirage, since I don’t think I am going to be able to visit Vegas and get my own before the Mirage closes down
