There's just something special about Mike's voice. It's bluesy, soulful, and utterly gorgeous. He's a brilliant songwriter and keyboard player too. I admit to spending a good 6 years trying to find this song. It doesn't help that I'm 25, and most of my peers don't get my love of 70s and 80s music. Oh well! This has to play when I get married. Has to!
Michael McDonald is one of those artists that is timeless. This songs speaks to every time I've been in love, had a broken heart and lived to love again. Michael, you rock!!
This song does describe God's love. I play this song for my mother. She is in Heaven and I still feel her love just as strong as when she was on God's earth with my sisters and me.
Just rediscovering his incredible body of work. That voice, that keyboard, that arranging, just everything. Kennedy Center Honors, when will you induct Michael McDonald. Multiple Grammy winner, has collaborated with everyone, it would be a wonderful tribute to watch. Still listening, Michael. Always will.
As a his career has spanned through many years from back ground singer to "Steely Dan", to Lead singer of the "Doobie Brothers" to his solo career. He has brought a distinctive voice for us to appreciate. He has brought out many old songs from the soul singers of the past for us to enjoy. Always loved this song, has been played at many weddings. Great song
What a lovely thing to say, but I'm sure you will agree . This song cam from our heavenly father. As a special gift while we are here before we go back home to be with him again.....
"Darling our love, this Love will light the world on its way" That is not referring to God's Love. God wants US to use OUR love to light the world on its way.....that's why He gave us dominion over the Earth.
@ricimac1 Who do u think 🤔 put that live in us- Satan? God is love. His spirit lives in us, his Light- Jesus who is the light of the world- resides in us to guide the world on its way. No puts a candle under a bed, put elevates it's light to been seen- Jesus Christ
Sad...what God has joined in holy matrimony 2 if His children know love like this- through our Lord. Pray He shows u this Love- its incredible. One example is the moment two give birth of what was formed by their union.
Conozco la música de Mc Donald desde que era un niño. Esta canción debe ser una de los más hermosos temas de este gran artista, Michael te damos las gracias por existir...🤩
Friends...nothing like Health, Wealth, & Happiness to keep you going. Love may come & Love may go, but those 3 things can sure ease a lot of heartache. Love this song...thanks for posting. Peace to ya
Been whistling the hook to this for about 20 YEARS. All I knew, all this time is that it was off some stupid love show on metro radio in the 90s that my mam used to listen to, but thought I'd never hear it again. Man I fucking HATED that radio show so bad as a kid and by extension I hated this fucking song, man. What a shit song. Turns out some friends met in my late teens/20s also knew this song and shared the same dislike and amusing experience of it. We used to whistle the hook and tell stupid love stories when we got drunk together. Here I am 20 odd years later and I found you, you bastard. You and your song are so fucking funny. I love it.
Always loved this song ...I hate the memories that it brings back to me. She stab me in the back & left me for another. My heart was ripped to shreds, it would of better if I had been hit with a bat on the back of the head. Yet, life goes on ....I have learned that the best thing to do is to live a better life than before. The best revenge is a sweet life which is what I have now. This song brings things back, wounds do heal. Her you may ask is not doing well, "the grass is not greener".
It was actually on HBO this morning when I woke-up and I forgot how great that movie was. Ans when the end crawl credits came up with that song, it just knocked me out. I just love Michael McDonald's songwriting and voice.
No Mercy (with Gere, Basinger, Krabbe, Atherton, Kinney) brought me here! "I got a one-bedroom apartment. I don't cook. I've got a color TV. I forget to do things - anniversaries, birthdays...Christmas. When I'm on a job, I'm gone for days. You understand? I get drunk, I yell at the people I love... So what do you say? What do you say?" -Eddie Jillette, to Michel Duval, after wasting Losado's ass
