Retirement (redundant?) isn't so bad Mike/Trish. My hubby and I enjoyed 14 years before he passed away in 2020. We traveled, went camping and boating and just enjoyed our time together, which we never regretted. You both seem healthy and happy and I wish you both many, many more years to enjoy your life and retirement. Folks in the US are hesitate to switch over to electric cars because they can only go so many miles w/o charging and we don't have charging stations (hopefully yet) to accommodate them.
Hi Sandy, sorry to hear that about your hubby. It's true what they say, life is too short and you should make the most of it, so we have now come to realise that early retirement and redundancy was actually the best thing that could have happened. Folks here are the same, the infrastructure to support electric cars and RV's is not nearly enough for everyone to be replacing their vehicles, and the cost of electric cars is sky high.
We are so excited that we have bought our very own Toyota Proace Leruna which we will be collecting at the end of August and watching your videos about why you chose yours is very much why we have chosen ours. It’s great to see how you use the van, the awning, the way you cook and places you visit. Thank you so much for sharing because we can’t wait to start our own adventures and it’s brilliant to find someone else with a van like ours! Looking forward to seeing more adventures in Maggie.
Hi Debbie, thats great news, how exciting for you, I'm sure you will love your new van and will have lots of adventures. We are planning a video about sleeping in the van so that will be one to watch for a few tips. x
Nice one guys. I am hoping to buy a Proace Verso and have a removable camper section. Love the shape of the Proace and better value than a VW transporter. Love how you designed your van and happy travels, let’s hope it all becomes a lot easier this year to get out and about. Andy UK
Hi Andy that sounds like a great idea having removable camper section, best of both worlds. Hope it works out for you and that we all manage to get away in 2021👍
Great People and an Awesome Camper, I have just bought an MPV which I have just added a camper conversion while still managing to keep 5 of the 7 seats, Hopefully this next week or so I will give it It's first Over night test.
Hi recently found you on u tube great fun bus you have there, hope you have great times on your journey of adventure. We are really excited about our new van conversion from Devon hopefully getting in January. We are from south aryshire hope to meet you guys soon Neal Tricia and Freddie the schnauzer
Hope you have many adventures. Love the van. A good choice of van. My little Toyota car has just turned over 350,000 km and she's still going strong. Just brought a Toyota van for my retirement project... building it out.
But it's not a Toyota, Toyota puts only the badge. Motor is a PSA motor, but still investigating to know if Toyota put their hands in it to make it reliable. Wish there was a Hybrid version.
Greetings from Poland. Hello Maggie. What a lovely van. You are obviousl;y very happy with it and I look forward to joining you on your travels. I think Kiera will steal the show every time. She's beautiful and is the second Labradoodle to appear on YT - the other is Dexter who can be found on Narrowboat Life Unlocked. Super video. Thanks for posting it
Great video guys lovely to be taken round your new van Maggie Broon, love it as a fellow Scot. Great natural presentation and look forward to your adventures and experiences. I am considering a compact camper and with Toyota's legendary reliability this looks like a more affordable option to the ever popular T6- and expensive with that, Well done until the next vlog
Thanks for that Roger, we hope you find a van that suits your needs, many companies have hiked up prices in the high demand climate, so best shop around for the best deal.👍
@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot Thanks noticed that regarding prices. Will keep in touch regarding your use/ e xperiences of any tips you ats willing to share. Hope you all have many happy trips. Will look up the company that you dealt with.👍
Lovely van. The perfect antidote to being made redundant and a beautiful dog to focus on looking after. Here is to thousands of miles of fun exploring 👍
Thank you for the video .my Allah give you many years of joy..,adventure and fun.i will buy it for my wife leila.i have a Peugeot boxer 5ek.it is a lot bigger.
Really enjoying Channel. We are in the process of looking at vans, had a few conversations with David Elliot and we are going to look at a Wellhouse Transit Conversion tomorrow. Still,in the planning stage, retirement beckons this year. Originally from Huddersfield, now in Blairgowrie. Keep up the content and give Keira a wee pat from us!
Just gave Keira a wee pat from you both. Good luck on your quest for a campervan, its a great way to spend your retirement and means you can get away more often, that's what retirement should be all about👍🐾
Just found your VLOGS and really enjoy watching them. We're in the process of getting our new campervan (lockdown permitting) and its the first one with a pop top so really good to see you talk about the pop top area. I'm going to be watching your other VLOGs and see what fun you have and see if I can pick up any tips (we've had campers before but just thrown everything in but now we need to get more organised!). Hope you have happy travels and fun....!
Hi Julie, you must be so excited about getting your campervan. So glad you are enjoying watching us, and hope you have many adventures ahead in your van👍
Sorry to be off topic but does anybody know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost my password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Cason Ryder Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hi Mike, Tricia and Kiera 🐾 I have a Nissan NV200 campervan and am just upgrading it. Always admired your Proace and I’m just getting a used one in the same colour as yours. Same 180 bhp auto too. Not actually seen it in the flesh though 😂 Being delivered on Saturday. Looking forward to the extra space.
You will like the extra space and horses under the bonnet. Our Maggie is in the Toyota garage at the moment, battery is dead and not being charged properly but they are fixing it under the 5 year warranty. All the best with the van 👍
@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot Yes I will love the extra space. My NV200 is the 6 speed 110bhp model. It has a LiFePO4 lithium on it. Is it your leisure battery that’s dead? Lithium is the way to go for leisure batteries.
Hi! I'm in the US in North Carolina living full-time in a Motorhome (Class C) which I've had since 2006. I love the Toyota vans and wish this style was available here. I'm also of Scottish heritage on my Dad's side and love your van's name! Your dog is adorable. I have a little Maltese. It will be fun to follow your adventures.
Hi this just pop up on you tube we have just bought a Mazda bongo Campervan it was already converted looking forward to watching your videos and may be pickup some tips.
Looks great! Love the roof. I don’t understand though why all campervans have these glass topped units. I’ve seen them get frequently broken getting in/out of pop top. Can’t use them as worktop either, not heat proof. Doesn’t make sense does it? Would be much better if stainless steel, heat proof, could use as food preparation surface too. I’ve seen one van Owner that had a wedge shape rubber drainer mat that fits on top of hob section and drains into sink that’s a good idea. Would be interested to know if there’s anything you’d change. Enjoy your adventures!
Hi MK, I agree the glass is not great and I don't know why they use that, ours shattered in our Scarborough video and the company replaced it. If I could replace anything it would be the base of the pop top bed, ours is just a board but you get sprung and slatted ones now.
Great video, thanks for putting it together. I think this could be the ideal van for us. A couple of questions please: what sort of mpg do you get? is there a ladder to get into the upper area? Enjoy your trips 😀
We are thinking of buying new toyota proace crosscamp from germany like yours too soon and cheaper there and full options and back on the road for nice adventures. Keep safe too.
Hi, love your videos. They've been really helpful as I'm a new camper owner. I've been trying to find a supplier that will fit a pop top roof with scenic canvas but can't find one for the Alphard. Did you get yours with the conversion?
Loving the vids! The price of these have shot up over the last year! I believe you paid around £44K ish now the equivalent van is £52K , wow lots of money. is she worth it that is the question. Have a great retirement and enjoy your time together. Cheers
Hey guys. Van looks great. Did you say its 180Bhp. Blimey our 15ft long motorhome is 3.5ton and only 75Bhp. Yours must drive like a sports car. We must get one. Cheers from George and Jane. Ps just discovered your channel.
So far just slept downstairs and its wide enough, just, as there is a side shelf but that adds to the width. Will bbe trying up and down. Next vlog should be about sleeping in the van. Cheers.
@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot Hi the van looks great, we are thinking about getting one could you tell me what width the bottom bed is at the widest point? Thanks
@@leila-maysergeant7288 the width is 117cm and length 188cm. We use a Jonic 7cm mattress which we bought online and they made to order. 7cm is the thickest mattress that will roll up. Definitely need this.
Hi mike Tricia and Kiera we have been watching your blogs ( which are great) for ideas where to explore, we have one question, do you use your awning a lot as we are considering having one fitted as a option, we think so as we get lots of sunshiny rain here in Scotland 😀 what's your thoughts Neal Tricia and Freddie who also has a ducky toy!
Hi guys, we use it all the time, gives an area to get the wet gear off and dry Keira, and occasionally its a good sun shade. The sides are good too for keeping a breeze out. Hope Freddie loves his ducky as much as Keira 🐾 🐾 🐾 🐾
Hello i am your new subscriber. Really cool video. I have a Toyota Proace and i need Pop Up ceiling too. I've reviewed a few , but they're too thick for my underground garage. Your ceiling isn't too thick. İt is very good for me. All Proace models have different high ( wheel sizes, springs etc.) Thats why ı do not ask total high of auto . I ask another questıon. How many centimeters high your auto , from above the sliding side door? If you say this measurement, I will calculate the total height of my vehicle more easily. Thank you very much.
Mike - I have already posted on another of your helpful videos. A quick question - apart from being ‘broon’, what was the Toyota colour description of the model you ordered, please?
@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot Thanks Mike - I had ordered a nice deep red, which David has just advised me (and others) that Toyota has discontinued this colour without notice. Options are now black, white, silver and a shade of what looks from photos as grey with a hint of brown - I have had to go for the latter - no 'broons' anymore....
hi, can you advise me the measurements of the loading space when the rear seats are pushed forward just behind the driver's seat . I'm mostly interested in the width and length on the remaining loading area. Thanks for your feedback
@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot Thanks for this info. My tricke mobility bike has a L of 150 cm ... So I need to consider the Longer version. ( i don't want to take out the rear seating)
We are thinking of buying the new Vauxhall Blighty which is the same vehicle as yours so we thoroughly enjoyed your video . If I may ask two questions . How do you fill the clean water tank ? there is no grey water tank so what are you carrying to connect up to the waste water outlet ? A wastemaster would take up quite a bit of space . Hope you are both enjoying retirement .
Hi, sorry missed your comment. To fill water tank we just use a couple of collapsible bottles and a funnel - not very efficient I know, but we actually don't use all that much water as we tend to use campsites mostly. For grey water its just a case of putting the basin under the van at the drainage point if on a campsite. Hope you are still up for campervanning!
@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot we use an oil drain container for grey water, it only holds 10 litres but that's heavy enough when you come to empty it and it fits nicely under the van. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00S18BI9A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hi, we are all fine and well thanks, just taking some time off because we will be moving home and there is so much to do, but hope to be back on RU-vid in June x.
David Elliott has share the link to this video on the "Wellhouse Leisure"-Facebookpage and that's why I watched it. Thanks for making and sharing! I would love see more videos. Suggestion: video of the bits and pieces that are inside when you travel + things you want to buy. And maybe a video what you like/would change after a few trips made. With "Enjoy With The People Who Give You ENERGY (#EWTPWGYE)!!!"-greetings from The Netherlands, Theo "SurvivalTrotter" Brouwers www. survivaltrotter.com
Hi Theo, glad you liked the vid, our first travel videos are on our channel. Yes we will be making more, how we use the van and what kit etc and our new air awning.
