Welcome back to Lift Arc Builds! In this video, we build a mobile base for a wall-mounted fan dedicated to John Bowcock, a long-time supporter and fan of our channel, and his project, Seekers of Rhythm Studios, which aims to help tinnitus sufferers.
Follow along as we design and construct a sturdy, versatile base that allows the fan to be easily repositioned. This project combines functionality with a dedication to a cause close to our hearts.

Hope his work produces some relief for tinnitus suffers,i too put up with it 24/7 also i had recurring ear infections in my youth and likely what caused mine to be quit severe. I equate it with that term white noise when a tv channel go's off air but you still know tv is on by buzzing noise coming thru airwaves!!! Ive never know a day of pure quit it seems like i have perpetual high blood pressure in my head.ive seen videos of deaf children having corrective surgery or implant signals and they n family tear up because it truly is a miracle blessing to behold someone not being given that wonder to finally have it.i for one would feel so blessed for one day just to hear the birds sing and rustle of leaves in the wind,without irration of white noise mixed in.may god assist you in your endeavers john and his friends at lift arc studios.snooky pa.❤❤❤❤😢😢

That is one excellent fan base. I was really scared the second you turned on the fan it would start rolling backwards but then I realized the wheels had brakes.

That stand looks like an awesome spot for a bucket of ice water and a small pump to run cold water through a copper coil on the back of the fan!

attic fan mounted on a ceiling. My tinnitus can either sound like the standard ringing or a flock of birds chirping.

I also have tinitus. It's a high-pitched tone around 17 Khz. There is nothing wrong with my ears, according to doctors, so it's mostly psychological. The brain gets used to a certain noise level as a default, and the brain adapts to fill out that lack of noise when it's silent. Noise canceling headphones does not work. it makes it more noticeable if I don't have something on and gets louder as long as I don't have something playing. So I have podcasts or music on all the time. It makes it hard for others to get my attention by just calling, but I feel it's necessary for my own sanity. When I'm going to sleep, I need to have a podcast or other RU-vid stuff on to lessen the high-pitched noise, or I won't be able to sleep at all, but it will keep me awake for longer.

Sorry to hear you're in it too. Most of us around the shop have some form of tinnitus or hearing loss for a variety of reasons. I have two fans that are constantly going in my room and a noise machine at night so I completely feel you! I had to stop watching shows at night because it was always this careful selection of finding something interesting enough to keep me engaged but no so interesting it kept me awake.

I am looking forward to seeing the re-location of your company. I am assuming (sic) that you will not use a machinery rigging company for your move to save $$ with a DIY and can expect many mishaps. As with all trades moving industrial equipment is a difficult task needing expirenced crews and proper equipment and skilled rigging. Maybe I am wrong and you hire a rigging company for the move and it will be w/o drama, however still captivating and a must see event. Good Luck! Ray

Stoko Kresto Hand Cleaner......It makes all others seem like junk. Amazon sells it along with the wall dispenser but I originally found it in use at my steel supplier and bought it from them. It is a beige cleaner with ground walnut abrasive and the label is green. There are a couple versions as well as a cherry. It easily dissolves grease and scrubs it away but does not tear up your hands or dry them out and it smells good. I have used other hand cleaners and then Stoko Kresto right afterward and was amazed at how much dirt/grease staining the other cleaner had left on my hands and I use it most often when doing the same kind of fabrication work with new steel or tapping lube.

Let the fan base sign rust. Probably help it along, I know there are processes to faux it. Would look sweet. As it is you can't really see it clearly.

Those laser metal cleaners that you see people using to strip metal, would they work for welding prep, or is it not suitable/cost effective ?
