I love how calm, happy and positive everyone was around you during labour! I'm due in October (also a surprise gender) and I'm starting to be so scared about having this baby... I keep hearing stories of labours gone wrong so this positive one was more than welcome! Even though I'm going the full natural route at a birthing center 😅 Hope all goes well. Congrats again! ❤️
What a sweet delivery! Your hair and your hubby held up very well! He was so kind and supportive during your delivery! I hope everything is still going well at home. You seem so relaxed her and in the other video, I am sure you are doing great!
Thank you so much for this. I’m so happy to hear a birth story like this one. Relaxed, go with the flow, factual! Love it so much. Made labor seem like scary, but really no big deal in the end. This is how I want to be! 6 more weeks 😊
Feeling the baby come out can be a wonderful and powerful experience. I’m 41 weeks with my third and having a water birth at home . My first was a water birth and besides being 58 hours, I still feel like a superwoman.
I love when you go wake up Josh! Ari said “we don’t go to the hospital in then night...hospital is for daytime. We did go to Disneyland that one time in the night though” 😂. She is going to be surprised if she goes into labour one day. Loved this video!!
Thank you for being so calm about your birth story! I'm due in February (but fully anticipate going early) and starting to hear the horror stories from people. Hoping to have a similar experience!!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I’m currently past my due date and now I’m here crying my eyes out - so beautiful. I’m now looking forward to my birth experience (I’ve been terribly nervous).
You are amazing! I met my midwife for the first time last night and told her about you and your positive experience. And clearly said I aim to have a birth as smooth as yours 😅 Thankyou so much for sharing
Im so glad I watched this video. I just found out my husband and I are pregnant. I am absolutely terrified of labor and birthing. Your videos really helped calm my nerves. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your story!! I'm so glad you had an overall great experience. Loved the explanation of your epidural guy. "Sure enough he looked like a psychopath." 😂
My friends had their first baby born at home three days ago. They were too afraid of Covid-19 contamination so did it all alone just the two of them. I cant even begin to imagine I would have been fearful of something going wrong at the last minute but they took the chance. I've had all my babies in hospital so pretty awestruck they achieved this.
Gahhh. I've seen this before, about a year ago, when you uploaded.. but now it will be my turn in January, and I can't stop binge watching your pregnancy and new mom videos. 😅
Thanks for sharing your story. I was 1cm dilated for 13 hours. I did natural no epidural. And I was also GBS positive. I shared my story as well and I love watching others story. ❤️
Geez I hope my labor is like this! 😭❤️ I’m terrified! Praying for all the mammas like me delivering during Covid! We got this! Congrats on your baby boy he is adorable!
Being 35 weeks pregnant with my first child and watching the clip of him being put in your arms with the emotions on you first just made me cry so hard. I'm so happy for you and can't wait to have mine 💗
Aw, Ashley! That was so beautiful and I LOVE you telling your birth story. I was giggling and chuckling along with you. I'm so happy it went so well and was such a lovely experience for you guys! Thanks so much for sharing these intimate moments with us. :)
Thank you for sharing. Lol not sure if that made me less stressed or more lol but feel like it’s good to have an idea of what’s coming. I’m due in 4 weeks 🙂😬
Very random, but I find it interesting that they deliver the baby on the bed! Here in New Brunswick, they remove the bottom part and put your feet in a pap test position! The doctor then sits on a chair to deliver. So you’re kind of stuck in that position to push... also I was worried they would drop baby on the floor 😅
Thank you so so much for this video! I’ve been stressing and anxious that I wouldn’t be ready for baby, but this has actually made me feel so much better. I hope my labor and delivery is as smooth as yours was! I’m due July 3rd😊💕
I had my little boy on the 11.12.2020 woke up at 3:30am with the bloody show then at hospital at 11am then at 3pm I was 3cm dilated then at 10:35pm I had my waters broke by midwife then buy 11:25pm my little boy was here. No pain relief. The midwifes we saying it's the quickest labour and deliver for a first time x
Congratulations!! I totally related when you said you would rather push for two hours. I was in hospital for 2 weeks with slow labour and then in the space of one hour my waters broke and I had my baby. There was no time for pain killers and omg...it was probably the most painful experience of my life. I'm so thankful it was a short delivery. Also, our babies are just two weeks apart!
This was so beautiful! I am about 7 and a half weeks pregnant with my first and it's really helping me to see relatable birthing content. Your delivery was amazing, I'm over here crying! Congratulations.
There is a little bit of shock when you see the actual baby. It happened to me when I felt my baby coming out and I actually felt weird when my belly deflated and it doesn’t really hit you yet. 😂
For future birthers, the scalp electrode is not “attached to” or “clipped to” the baby’s head. It is a miniature screw that is screwed into the top of the baby’s head. I am not saying this to deter the decision of its use. Just to inform or provide clarity. Consent is mandatory.
Great video thanks for sharing your story. Although you had no pain your experience has put me off epidurals it sounds unatural how it slowed the labour. I have a low pain threshold so will most likely still ask for one lol
watching this and I am currently 31w2d. The end made me so emotional! I’m a nurse and i’ve assisted in deliveries before but never cried at any of them… I guess this was the one that did it for me 🥲
This is so helpful, and you remember sooo much. I almost want to make a video, or write down everything bc what a cool thing to look back on years later in case you forget anything :) I’m so excited! I’m hoping to go into labor naturally, but if not I will be induced at 39 weeks...It will be nice though bc the wait is so hard at this point.
Everyone’s experience with epidural is different. I had it with both kids and I couldn’t feel my legs at all i couldn’t move whatsoever. I’m in the uk and if you have the epidural you have to get the catheter. Also we don’t always get a designated midwife throughout the whole pregnancy/ Labour. I was always seeing different midwives at all my appointments maybe it’s because we use the nhs rather than private medical care.
Oh interesting! I only had to get a catheter if I couldn’t pee on my own. I didn’t get a designated midwife either, there were multiple at my midwifery. We don’t have private medical care in Canada either ☺️
Lol to the pee! At my hospital you have to get a catheter with the epidural. In my case it was great because prior to that i was hooked up to sooo much crap plus a baloon up there, going to the bathroom sucked.
"You'll know when you need to go to the hospital " 😂😂😂 Mine go from 0 to 100 reaaaal fast. Had my 2nd baby in the car because it happened so fast. Only 15 min away from the hospital lol
For the pushing part,I had totally the opposite sensation and experience..I thought I was pushing endlessly while it was actually a very short period of time..
I am 8 weeks pregnant and I was looking for somebody in BC who recently gave birth (during covid time as well) so I can imagine a similar story for myself. This was amazing! You explained everything with perfect detail and it is indeed a ver positif labor and birth story! Congrats! 🤗 May I ask which hospital you were at?
Oh congratulations! Yeah I’m glad I can share my experience with people from BC because I was also struggling to find this information! I won’t share what hospital but if you’re in the lower mainland, you’re sure to have a similar experience ☺️
Just been watching all your newborn videos with my husband, they are wonderful!! I noticed you live in BC in another video, can I ask which hospital you delivered at? (I’m going to be delivering at BC Women’s in a few months, it’d be great to have an idea what it’s like)
I’m due in April and this video had me balling me eyes out. It’s so wonderful to see such a positive birth story! Thank you for sharing this with all of us ❤️ And Congratulations!!!
How are you adjusting to being a new mom? I’m due on the 26th and I’m not gonna lie I’m freaking out. Is it easier or harder than you expected? Also how bad has the recovery process been physically and mentally so far?
So far it’s easier than expected, but I also mentally prepared for the worst case scenarios. Being a mom has been amazing despite the sleep deprivation and sacrifices. Physically I’ve fully recovered excluding my stitches and mentally I’m doing well. Good luck with your delivery and I hope this helps comfort you!
I also did lots of cleaning when I was getting close to my due date and literally my vacuum died the day I went into labor so that sucked because the dog hair was everywhere 😩
That can definitely happen, some women tense up too much to where their body can’t relax & progress so they end up progressing faster after an epidural
With my first I pushed for 5 hours and my second 45 min but my second it was more painful because I felt everything, I don't think they gave me enough epidural "juice" LoL but just like you I rather go longer and not be painful just like with my first LoL even though at the end I was mentally exhausted.
@@Abcdefghijajajaja yep!!! And also had to try different positions for the baby to come out. It was a long 5 hours. My face was super swollen afterwards
the only difference(a big one)is that Indidn t have the epidural button so I waited for the doctor to put the second dose ..screaming!!!!the other girls who were at the other rooms giving birth went eventually for a c section and told me later that listening to me screaming thought they made the best choice for a c section(stupid for me) ;)
28:22 that is a very interesting position to be pushing. How on earth is a baby supposed to fit out of that crooked position? They should of suggested laying down
Re-watching this after getting a child made me realize that you live just as far from your town's hospital as I do, and I had the easier 'pop child out' process: they cut her out of me. I was chatting and joking with the doctors while they worked...for only 5 mniutes.
I pushed for 2 hours but I wasn't getting anywhere because my contractions were strong but too far apart for some reason and i couldn't feel the pressure of needing to push. They finally gave me pitocin and I was finally able to feel the need to push him and he was out in less than 20 minutes
U sound exactly like me "drugs, hanging out, sunny side up, control of my legs, scrunching face, heart rate drops, moving around" legit my entire first birth... Second one was sooooo much easier!
They tried attaching the probe to my daughter's head when I was in labor. They then felt her arm sticking out and I had to get an emergency c section. Birth is insane.
Healing was tough & the c section was very urgent. I threw up while getting the c section which was wild. It was worth it for sure & I'd do it again if I needed. I'm so glad that your experience was so positive! Makes me hopeful for the next one! Lol
