I can’t believe the man who fixed my turbo, who changed the timing belt in my wife’s IS300 is now selling underwear on the RU-vids 🤣😂. Seriously, Jared is a great guy and a talented mechanic, and this channel benefits from his humor and his abilities.
Some people are way too concerned about the personal lives of RU-vid hosts for some reason. Evidently they don't have enough drama in their own lives to keep them satisfied.
Also, many people are not "concerned" in a drama seeking kinda way. The majority want them to get along, because they're both great people with good chemistry. Even I noticed a few lines in a couple videos, here and there that were weird. But like Tavarish rightfully said, when people work that closely together for any length of time, eventually life happens. Familiarity and it's consequences can't be helped, no matter how good a relationship is. Glad, but surprised they addressed it.
Don't know how anyone could get that impression of Tavarish and Jared's relationship.... Tavarish is a hardworking, ingenious son of immigrants and Jared is his underwear tester. #sheathunderwear 😁
I’m so happy you showed the VPL repair. Just had my 11’ F done at a dealer (extended warranty covered it) BUT…..they didn’t use the correct sealant. They used the newer black sealant that supposedly is ok with coolant…..I guess I’ll see….
This but also I think this speculation started when Jared took out the 2jz from Earl. I think maybe people read into things too much and mistook stress and annoyance as something more
Toyota engine assembly worker here. FIPG is a constant fight. Whether it be surface cleaning, machining finish, or mix ratios off in robot heads from leaks. I feel this in my soul.

The first time I saw a “Sheaths” commercial I was inside a Hypebaric chamber, which has one inch thick acrylic walls. I started laughing SO HARD the technicians came running over to make sure I wasn’t dying! They had never actually heard anyone who was inside the chamber without the intercom!!!

@@Jamie_the_mechanic I was actually supporting him in making a dollar when he used to put out content i subscribed for in the first place. Since it all has come to "blablabla autotempest blablabla cartrek" and doing at best service jobs on his mercedes and aston martin luxury cars (should've already made a dollar or two) I did what he suggested and unfollowed his channel, hoping Jared would carry on the Torch. You can clearly see that he's not into wrenching anymore. That's why cartrek, thats why suspicious off times due to "illness" and thats why he had to explain himself in videos pointing towards what i've just said. He just can't state it officially since his channel would lose tons of followers.
Just FYI during that scene where Tavarish was unscrewing the bolts and Jared said he's trying to talk, whatever microphone you're using is pretty fantastic cuz I could hear perfectly even while he was using the drill
About you guys not getting along: Jared recently came clean about some other stuff going on with him, and some stuff that's been annoying him. I think we picked up on him being a bit frustrated, and guessed as to why. And also this made him a little extra annoyed on those occasions where Freddie actually annoyed him. I think "like brothers" covers it pretty well: sometimes you annoy each other, but it isn't going to go nuclear.
Also get ready to go into heads once more - your intake(the oil controlled ones, not vvti-e ones - or is it exhaust? Replace the usual ones, not electric ones) actuators are going to rattle pretty soon if not yet. Not very hard but kinda labor intensive. I have a complete parts list for this job. Done it twice. Its two actuators, tons of orings and gaskets, upper tensioners. Doable by just hanging chains and marking everything. You can release tensioners enough without taking heads off. Pm me if needed lol
Toyota also had a major 4 cylinder recall not that long ago. Ring issue causing massive oil consumption. I saved a woman thousands by overhearing a conversation she had about needing an engine in a car she just bought. She made the replacement cut off by 6 months and got a brand new engine on Toyota.

Make a frame. You have a welder, just fabricate a temp frame with castor wheels on it for moving wheel-less cars around, just as Jarrod did using furniture dollys whilst moving dead cars out of his other workshop.
Classic UR. Done at least three to date. Fuel pressure sensor is a weak spot there too. I mean not reliability wise - mechanically. Also there was a TSB about leaky sensor on some URs. Love UR btw. One of the best engines ever.

@tavarish sorry to say, hopefully the valley cover had the sealant on it, but when you picked it back up after it sitting on the sealant, it looks like you might have a problem. Hopefully it was on the valley cover and i couldn't tell that from the camera angle.
Completely understood on the relationship, if two people are always super nice to each to other, then there is more bonding to do! I knew when my now wife was finally sick of my extreme metal blaring 24/7 instead of pretending to like it, we were in a real relationship!
I do commercial refrigeration for a living so I obviously work with my hands. When I got married in ‘09 I got a titanium wedding band. It’s inexpensive(unlike my wife’s LOL!!), extremely durable, and, looks as good as the day I got it. If you need an every day or working band and you don’t do tattoos, titanium is the way to go.
Gotta be a Toyota thing. The 3.4L V5 (5VZ-FE) does something similar with the heater bypass tube the bolts the block down in the V of the engine. It's sealed with FIPG as well. Eventually, it starts to leak, and you end up with a lake of coolant under the intake. To fix, you have to remove the upper and lower plenums, then the intake manifold. Oh, and the connectors on the wiring harness to the knock sensors crumbles from the heat exposure, so you have to replace that. And, if you're lucky, the plastic around the pins on the knock sensors breaks, so you have to replace those as well, at $175 a pop. Ask me how I know. As a bonus, I had to do it twice because one of the aftermarket knock sensors I bought failed immediately.

Putting the fipg on is easier if you use the little key that allows you to get a nice solid bead and it will seal much better after. Also for anyone that doesn't know toyota will not pay for the coolant fipg for warranty repairs that require it so the techs that perform the repair are doing exactly what the manufacturer did wrong by using the oil fipg instead of what is required. So if you get a timing cover reseal demand they use coolant fipg to prevent the leak in the future
Now suck it through a graded sieve with a venturi on compressed air... Dry ice sandblaster. Added side of expanding gas to go with spot freezing. Perfect for all your grim removal needs.

Used industrial dry ice blasting at an old job to clean injection molding parts. Works well but it can be time consuming, not sure it's worth the money for small shop use.

Dear tavarish and jarred, please stop interrupting each other, I think that's what is driving these fighting comments. You both clearly have a lot of knowledge about cars and obviously you want to share it but one at a time is probably the proper way. Please don't waste your time and energy on addressing comments that say that only one person is doing the job and bla bla. No one ever gets anything done alone. There will always be people who supported a person to get to where they are now. But without their own hardwork and sacrifices, no one would gets millions of views. These kind of comments are from people who themselves never does anything and if you humor them then you are only wasting your precious resources. What with all the scheduling and general work that has to go into 2 channels then throw in the car trek shoots and for a cherry on top add in the rushed closing of site B...I can only imagine the stress that was on you both. I have a chrysler 3.6 that had the same problem, except the cause was an oil cooler that is mounted in that cradle that is made of plastic. It has coolant running through it and they have a habit of cracking or getting bad seals, can cause oil or coolant leak. I was afraid it was a blown head gasket but I was lucky.

I think you missed a small area with that silicone gasket maker.....you can see the spot you missed at 24.:48 in the video clip.....a little to the left of Jarod's left arm on the edge closer to jarod's tummy on the corner.... considering how critical you said it is to make sure that gasket sealer is well done... I think you should go back and fix it......
