These are the stories I don’t like to hear. There is nothing wrong with a child wearing whatever they want. However, socially transitioning them is ridiculous

I believe that a girl can dress girly or Tom boyish and not lose the identity of being a girl; same with boys. I feel trans is like body dysphoria where it causes serious anxiety/depression with secondary characteristics. The kid is 2. TWO 🥺

I’m a childminder and I look after lots of children this age. Many of the girls HATE stereotypically ‘girlie’ things like hair clips, dresses, baby dolls etc and enjoy doing things seen as ‘boy things’ like football, climbing etc. I also have boys who love playing with dolls and pushing them round in little buggies and dressing up in play high heels and dresses. It’s normal!!! Kids experiment. This is the age when they are starting to figure out who they are and what ‘gender’ is. It doesn’t mean they are trans. They are just trying to figure out the world and their place in it. Just my opinion.

When my brother was about 2, he was constantly putting on my mum's wigs and high heels and we even fully dressed him up like a girl one day for fun and he even started to call himself angelica and we knew very well he only did all this for attention and it was ok because he was little and until he was about 4 years old, he forgot the whole thing and came out of that phase, he seems pretty happy as a boy and he's now 15 ( he's still very grateful he's a boy). Just. Stop. Kids have no concept of gender, and their views are very black and white. Reinforcing sexist stereotypes by saying, "You are a boy because you like rough and tumble games, and the colour blue." This is infuriating that this keeps happening. Most children do not experience gender dysphoria after puberty, and socially transitioning them this young, is only going to make it more difficult for them to detrans later on.

I wonder if having a twin brother affected Stormy. Like, seeing how the brother was treated, and then wanting to be treated equally.

I remember going through several stages as a child that I wanted to be a boy. I was even angry about being a girl. Looking back I think I was triggered by something. That does not mean a child grows up and wants to be boy. These are just stages and we really don't understand why this happens to some kids...it just happens. I got over it when I was 12.

This is how I imagine it went 'you cant play with your brother's toys you are not a boy!!' So the little girl says 'I'm a boy' so she can play with her brother, I've seen it happen with parents that are so fixated on gender stereotypes but luckily these parents I've seen were too conservative to consider that their child is trans.

She was 2! You as her parents should lovingly guide her. I sometimes felt like a boy when I was a child because I was a " tom boy" that was surrounded by 5 brothers, I didn't wear dresses or make-up until I grew out of the " "tom boy" stage and it happened naturally after puberty, then there were boy's! Thank God my parents didn't encourage me to be a boy or give me a choice! At 56 I'm still not as feminine as most of my female friends and counterparts but that's just who I am, the thought never crossed my mind after puberty of wanting to be a boy. I think this is very dangerous for the mental health of children this young. In my opinion you don't give a 2 year old the choice to be a boy or a girl, if they want to wear boy clothes instead of frilly dresses ,so be it but you don't agree with a 2-year-old and start calling them a boy when they are a girl.When they become an adult if that's what they choose, fine. A 2-year-old doesn't even know what a transgender is and this child couldn't get these ideas without the parents encouraging and allowing it no matter what you say as her parents. This is going to be one confused child, especially when she hits puberty. She is pressured into continuing this charade because you as her parents gave her a boy haircut ,boy clothes etc. As you stated yourself she was bullied over the frozen jacket. What's insane to me is that this argument/topic is even a thing! It shouldn't be for any child, especially not before puberty!!

I never wanted to wear dresses or anything like that when I was little. I dressed how I wanted to at that age. I honestly feel his parents have a big impact on how he feels. Their child needs time to come into their own. At the age of 2, you're still trying to figure food out.

Maybe instead of dressing them up as a boy, they can try different things. I hated frilly, girly dresses. My mom started to get me stuff I was comfortable in. I loved my jumpers, overalls, and hiking boots. I also loved play clothes over dressing in restrictive dresses and skirts. So my mom got me skorts. I didn't want to be a boy, I just wanted to play. No way at 2 years old that child even knows the difference between a boy and girl. Those parents are doing it for themselves. They should be monitored by child services for forcibly trying to make their daughter trans.

Omg my daughters always hated having pigtails or any bows in their hair. Didn't like dresses either. Also they've all three said they want to be a boy, or that they are a boy. Guess what though, we didn't feed into the "transgender" stuff and they got over it. Crazy how that works. You think this won't mentally affect this child for the rest of her life? I struggled with my own gender all my life (I'm a woman). As a kid I hated everything "girl", pink, barbies, dresses, long hair, etc. I preferred playing with my brother's toys and always wore pants and "boys" clothes, I only had boy friends and literally considered myself one of the boys. I would get really angry or upset whenever I had to be with the girls (like when they would split us up in PE for certain activities- pointless, in my opinion). My biggest wish was, quite literally, to be A BOY. But my parents NEVER made me transition or forced me into that. And it is simply because I rejected everything that was considered related to girls, because I thought THAT'S what being a girl is. Just wearing dresses and loving pink and unicorns. All of those things have nothing to do with gender, but what is socially seen as "for girls" or "for boys". Later on as a teenager, when I actually knew what being transgender was, I did question if I was a trans person. But this is something that 1- a person must do on their own, not cause your parents "push it" on you and 2- a toddler DEFINITELY cannot comprehend simply because they mix up gender identity with the social constructions associated with each gender. Being transgender goes way beyong not liking being in dresses, or loving it. It's related to your identity as a person. I am now a 24 yo happy woman but it is sth I could never have chosen as a 2 yo, you simply don't have the mental capacity to even question that. I'm all for loving your kid for who they are, even if they manifest being part of the lgtbq+ community sincr they are young. But I honestly think this is too much. Just support your kid in their likings, buy them whatever clothes they want, let them even refer to themselves with a different name (as a nickname) if that's what they prefer; but don't go this far. That's a personal decision that can only be made later in life. I'm really not saying this in a harsh way at all for this parents. Every parent does their best to love and support their kid. I just think it goes a bit too far transitioning and all

I can remember being 3yrs old,when it was no longer ok for me to play outside without a shirt on,like my brother..I can remember being absolutely devastated that at that point I was being taught what being a girl means,I wanted no part of it because I truly felt like a boy.. Everything my brother liked,I liked..I can remember getting in so much trouble for coming home looking absolutely ragged from climbing trees and rolling in grass,losing hair bows and simply just not being ladylike.. I realize that those feelings got even stronger when I got older because it seemed to me that boys had all the fun,while girls were expected to take care of the house and all the other typical things we are taught as responsibility.. Again,none of it came natural to me nor was it anything I saw myself being in later life.. I can relate to Stormy in some respects but I think his drive may truly be a product of being a twin,and was something that was there from birth and only grew stronger with time and understanding the difference people make between the two sexes..He may grow out of it or transform into something mixed with a little of both.. Whatever he decides to be is ok and it's important that he has the love and support of family, regardless..I wouldn't necessarily say he's trans because I believe it's simply too early in his development to place any label..

My brother had cool toys, was allowed to climb trees, get dirty, and go fishing with Dad. I was not allowed to play with cars, get my dress dirty, mess my hair, or do anything with Dad... I'm not saying that there aren't people who are trans or that trans is wrong, but I think a big thing here is that when people have kids, they say "Oh, a boy would wear that or a girl would wear that" rather than saying that clothes are gender neutral. And I mean all clothes. There are societies where men wear what we would consider a skirt, but it simply has a different name. Maybe, if we didn't make kids wear clothes according to how they were born and then call them transgender or nonbinary when they deviated from what we would consider the norm, then maybe kids wouldn't feel like there was something wrong with them or that they needed to identify as a different gender. I feel like gender identity is something that really is more prominent when you get older. I am biologically female and identify as a female, but I never thought of it when I was younger. When I was a bit older I wanted and felt more like a guy. I still have times where I wish I was a man, not because of how women are treated, but I feel like there are times I would be happier as such, but I mostly feel a connection to being a woman and identifying as a woman. This is something that would be really confusing as a child.

Not wanting your hair up or hair clips in, or not wanting to wear a dress, means nothing more than wanting to be more comfortable.

I was a tomboy at school; believed in living like a boy; had only boys in my friend circle. Dressed like them, played cricket and football, etc. I never had any girlfriends and wasn't attracted to makeup, barbies, pink, or any other stereotypes women are linked to. I always wanted to be a boy back then because of their carefree attitude, brotherhood, adventurous plans, the way they were treated in the society. Now, I am 30. Been dating guys, about to get married to the man of my dreams. Still a tomboy. Parents, please don't make quick decisions on the basis of what your little kids believe in. Support them by not neglecting their thoughts. Just don't push them to be what they not know an iota of. Gender change is a big thing. It can make or destroy a life. There are adults undergoing transformation at 30 and regretting it 5 years later. Give them room to build their own thinking. Don't impose yourself on them. When they are adults, they themselves will make a decision. You should be there to support.
