Join us for our first day in Busan, South Korea! 🇰🇷 We dived right into the vibrant and busy streets, soaking up the lively atmosphere and indulging in some street food. From savory pork dumplings to a fun twisty donut and a refreshing slushy, our taste buds were in for a treat. Our adventure didn't stop there! We found a claw machine game and, with a bit of luck, won a cute stuffed animal. We continued our journey down Fashion Street, exploring and soaking in the local vibes. To wrap up our day, we grabbed a unique sesame latte, the perfect end to our Busan adventure.

I'm currently living in Busan and I love you two and this Korean series! Here's a little history about Gamcheon Village. After the Korean War, many Koreans refugees (from Seoul, etc) escaped to Busan and cultivated the mountainous region to make a living. The nation was in utter poverty and building materials were scarce because of the war, so people had to build their houses/shelters with whatever they could find. Today, you can still see the bases of some of these houses that were built with engraved tombstones, which were probably stolen from various gravesites at the time. In 2009, students, artists, and residents decorated the village as a part of the Village Art Project, and the town grew into a leading tourist attraction of Busan. As beautiful and visually interesting as this village is, it's also a very sad yet powerful piece of Korean history (definitely worth visiting).

I love how you are trying to give soju a second chance. Instead of drinking it on a street corner, the proper way is to pair it with a food combination like KBBQ, Pajun, Spicy soup casserole or stew (jigae), Jokbal. Take a bite of the food and then do a shot. Doesn't get any better than that.

The giant rice cakes in the ddeokbbokki is the Busan style. Very delicious! And the dumplings you had probably have chives, glass noodles, cabbage, and a tiny bit of ground pork with seasonings which is a quite normal filling. It wouldn't be full of meat at that price. Lol. The drink you thought that was barley water isn't barley water, it's a traditional sweet rice drink. Super refreshing and light. I feel like all you guys are eating is desserts and cheese. Hahahah. The reason the donuts are chewier is because they use glutinous rice in their batter. The grape soju is pretty good. Flavored soju can be mixed with tonic water, juice, or soda and ice to make a yummy cocktail, kinda like you guys did with the slushy. There are a lot of shops without staff now-a-days. I can't believe you guys got a plushy in one try!!! Congrats! That never happens!

I love Busan food with 회 (sliced raw fish), 밀면 (cold spicy noodle), 돼지국밥 (pork stew) 물만두 (japchae dumplings) etc.. wish I can go there again!! Have a great time

Markets in Korea are usually for Elderly or tourists. Locals usually dont buy there mostly Older Generations go there to buy. as you might already noticed, the clothes (style and colors) are for Old generation like over 70s

Still nice to see those styles 😊 New fashion and technology is not all that Korea can provide to tourists. Even in the U.S. things are much older and tradtional than Korea and people enjoy as much as Times Square or Hollywood 😊

The mandu you tried is usually served with tteokbokki. It usually contains less or no meat, which is why they're cheaper than the meat filled ones. It enhances the overall flavor experience when paired with tteokbokki sauce. Try it with the tteokbokki next time!

Romanization of "kimbap/gimbap" varies, and that's why you see the difference. The K/G sounds are very similar, just like B/P... It's just a matter of the tension in your throat or lips, depending on the sound. Also, you'll hear some folks essentially lose the "ha" in "kam-sa-ham-ni-da" so it sounds like "kam-sam-ni-da"... A lot of languages do that, losing or blending consonants, including in English... Keep up the great content!

Korean Mandu don't use so much of meat unlike some of Chinese style dumpling mostle Mandu has mixed of vegetables as main ingredient and added some pork or chives or glass noodlesor Kimchi and goes on.. By the way korean glass noodles are made out of sweet potato. Only Koreans have Sweet Potato noodles in the world so its sometimes you would want to try since you are in Korea😊
