Saunas are quite popular here in northern Europe too. That was one of the first things we did when moving into this house, to build a sauna room! Love it!!

My husband and I binged the show on just over a week! It was a great time and made us want to visit the Philippines even more! And being from NZ it was fun to see some familiar faces from NZ/Australian shows (and even a actor who is good friends with my sibling!).

Mikey and RJ made me cherish my life more than anything. Our life in the US is not a joke. Working our butt off until we can comfortably retire at age 67. Fortunately I’m not going that route. I will retire at age 55 and live my life to the fullest because life is short. “Who needs the grass if the horse is already dead”. I got so many co-workers who died before they even reach their retirement.

Those were really nice pasalubongs from Tita Antonette. I love her glowing skin. Belated happy birthday to Edmark! So good to be sung the birthday song in 3 languages. I was salivating with the duck wraps! I grew up eating duck soup (specially) with Chinese medicinal herbs and native chicken too. I love Thai foods and my most favorite is pad thai. I first tasted it in Chicago many years ago and I'm glad Taiwan has a lot of really good Thai restaurants. Looking forward to your trip in Phuket and Chiang Mai this December. October in Toronto, right? Wow! The beautiful bird even showed its back for us to enjoy its majesty. Love everything about this vlog. Thank you, Mikey!

I saw someone already identify the species of kingfisher, and yes I can confirm that the kingfisher in question is indeed a Brown-breasted Kingfisher (Halcyon gularis). It looks pretty similar to the White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) and was actually considered a subspecies of it until it got elevated to species status. The difference between the two is that the latter has extensive white color on its throat, with the Philippine subspecies only having white on its throat and neck. Another difference between the two is that the former is a Philippine endemic so it is proudly pinoy, while the latter is found throughout most of Asia. Also, the resident Philippine Pygmy Woodpeckers seem to be going ham with their calls in the background while you were featuring the parrots in their segment. Funny how you compared yourself with a Tapir when you were swimming in the pool haha. You mentioned that tapire are South American mammals, but the Baird's Tapir is also found in Central America, while the Malayan Tapir is found in Southeast Asia from Peninsular Malaysia to Sumatra; it's the only extant species of Tapir in the Old World and also the largest. A little trivia about Tapirs is that they arw perissodactyls, which means their closest living relatives are horses and rhinos.
