To see Part 1 of our adventure, click here: • Our Two Week Cruise To... . My friend Frank and I board the Crown Princess cruise ship for a 15-day cruise to Hawaii from San Pedro, California on a 5-day voyage across the Pacific to our first port-of-call on the island of Oʻahu.
Part 1 - While in Honolulu we walk to Waikiki Beach at the Sheraton Hotel, hike to the Akaka Falls, visit the Pana'ewa Rainforest Gardens & Zoo in Hilo, and end up having our tour bus break down before visiting the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Farm.
Part 2 - After being delayed one hour getting to the Lahaina, Maui shore, we're finally able to board a tender boat. We spend a short time at the nearest beach before taking a boat out to sea to board The Atlantis Submarine. There we explore the ocean floor on a submarine tour and view a variety of fish, sharks, and the Carthaginian, an old cargo ship that was sunk off the shore and today serves as an artificial reef for coral and fish. Because time is limited, after the submarine tour we take a tender boat back to the ship to be on time for its departure and overnight sail to Nawiliwili, Kaui.
