Just pulled the "trigger" on this system for ditch lights and a small light bar. Your video gave me the confidence to go for it. Went with a rally innovations light bar as well for up front. Now on to figuring out how to install all of this haha. Thanks once again
@@roamingwithjosh Had a follow up question if that is alright - If I did want to connect the yellow wire to an accessory point (mentioned at 2:15 in this video) - where could I locate one of those points to safely connect the accessory wire? Total noob here just trying to figure it all out
I am looking at this system and have seen mixed reviews on it but I love the concept. Now that it has been a couple of years, are you still liking it and recommending it?
I would not buy it. It worked well enough for me to put it on two seperate vehicles and then they both stopped working at really poor times. I would go with this instead adventurerigshop.com/products/auxbeam-6-gang-switch-panel?_pos=2&_psq=auxb&_ss=e&_v=1.0 I have this installed on three different vehicles and it's worked perfectly for 2 years.
Thank you! I also have the white OBW and already put ditch lights on, but want to add a lightbar and maybe more. Been looking for a good relay switch but wasn't sure about this as it's advertised for Jeeps and Toyotas.
Did you ever find a solution for mounting your light bar? Looking to find away to mount one without buying a whole new roof rack (after spending on the Thule Aero cross bars)
@@Currahee_1944 I am actually changing mine and putting a Prinsu Rack on, so I will be no help for you there. (I currently have an entire Yakima rack system on mine. )
I hated having to make the choice between having the yellow trigger wire hot all the time OR tapped into an acc. fuse…SO…I opted to mount a 3-Way (On-Off-On) switch in the engine compartment. That way I can choose between 1. Fully disconnected 2. Only on with vehicle 3. Directly connected to battery // Always available. Wish I could attach pics here, but it looks hella clean and I had some fun with the labels (1= Tame and 3= Wild). 🌲🏔⛺️
Nothing noticeable. If you drive the car at least once every 5 days you will never have an issue with it draining you battery. At least that’s been my experience. Full disclosure, I stopped using trigger because the Bluetooth connection was not reliable and stopped working on me in both vehicles on two separate occasions. Just a fair warning if you’re looking to purchase.
We wired them together and then wired to the switch. Had to strip down the wiring harness and pretty much make our own new one to put everything together.
@@roamingwithjosh Gotcha. I just set my trigger system up with some ditch lights over the weekend and I put them on two separate switches, which obviously isn’t ideal lol. But I thought I recalled seeing a splitter Y for the trigger system to plus two things into one of the trigger spots. But I’d rather splice so I’ll go that route as well. Thanks for the response!
I plan on running a similar setup once I get my outback wilderness (hopefully this month). I have the trigger and rigid lights but I'm curious as to how you connected the two? Did you just use a butt connector to connect the positive/negative from the trigger to the positive/negative to the ditch lights? This is what I assumed I was going to have to do but it will require me to cut the supplied wire from the rigid lights.
That’s exactly what I did. You’re going to have to cut the wires regardless because if you don’t you will have several feet of additional wire you will be dealing with. I always cut the harnesses to fit the length I need and then hide all the wires. Hope that helps!
@@roamingwithjosh It does. More specifically though, you cut the wire coming out of the light itself or the wire connected to the original on/off switch supplied by rigid? Thanks in advance!
