Nice idea, I have one of the crappy small table saws at the moment, and while in storage the two metal side extns were damaged and I had to remove them. Now i'm setting myself up a hobby shop in very limited space so i'm looking at as many simple space saving options as I can find, and this one is a good one ;)

I have the same saw and same issues of space limits. A great solution that will have me looking at doing the same to my saw.

Great build and its exactly what I’m looking for as I have the same saw for the same reasons you do... Only thing I’m going to do is paint it Ridgid saw orange so my 30 yr old son won’t ‘mistake’ any of the pieces as ‘scrap’ (as he’s already found most of my hiding spots as well) as use them up on his projects!

I did something similar for my small-footprint router table on the side. Nice to see similar efforts that get you to thinking outside the box! Good video for someone who has similar needs...and there are a lot of us.

Nice idea and good video. Like others that have commented, I have limited space and my garage floor is sloped. This is a great idea to have the removable outfeed table that references the saw and not the floor. Keep posting videos. I am now subscribed.

Eric, Thanks for posting this video! I too have a similar job site table saw for the same reasons. I'll be checking mine over to come up with a solution like this. Fantastic idea! Best regards, Frank

@EricSorensenCanada

@Fred Giordano This outfeed table is designed to work with the Ridgid jobsite table saw. The dimensions would be a bit different. I don't have that saw, but based on what I see in their product photo, you should be able to attach the arms to the steel tubing on either side of the frame. You may be able to use the existing bolt holes and just use longer bolts to mount it. Just make sure the arms are parallel / equal in height for your table top.

Hi Eric, 1) Did you at anytime in the planning of the build, did the concept of the out-feed table being a continuation of the tablesaw platform with dado channels effectively extending the tablesaw platform length get considered, and if so what made you reject the concept. ? 2) As built what differential height drop from the tablesaw platform level to the out-feed table level did you consider as appropriate, I estimated from the video you had a 3/4" drop.? For entirely different reasons, but similar need , I require to do the same thing as what you have done, so the video was very encouraging. Thanks

How did you make your zero clearance insert. Your saw looks the same as my Ridgid and I have not found anyone who make an insert for my say and I have struggled making one. I would gladly pay for some if you’re in the mood to sell them. Awesome extension, and I agree with your comments at the end. Will build one as soon as time permits. Great job and video.
@EricSorensenCanada

@John Hollingsworth Thanks! I made mine using some left over laminate flooring but you can use 1/4" Melamine or 1/4" plywood instead. Regardless, the method is pretty much the same. Here's the video on how I did it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eqZgvwJKavg.html

I like the idea of the sub-surface support system. I think that I'll adapt it for a bottom hinged out-feed table. My table saw's fence needs both front and rear rails to operate, so finding a workable design has been challenging. I'm open to suggestions.

I have teh same Ridgid saw. Do you have plans I could buy?
@EricSorensenCanada
@EricSorensenCanada 5 лет назад
@Im 4Real - I don't have any plans for this as of yet, but the outfeed table size is 18" X 34 1/2" You have to leave about 1 1/2 inch gap between the saw table and the outfeed table to allow for your fence to clamp on. The arms are 25 inches long. The other parts fall into place: the center brace, the struts and the plywood hinge supports. I will announce when I have plans available...stay tuned 🙂
