And again, you have shown an incredible sense of recognizing what my intention was. I feel really blessed by this. Thank you so much🥹❤️ I came across the song by chance, I didn't know it. It was the words I get to love you that caught my attention. They imply not only I love you or will (always) love you, but also, I’m allowed to love, I have the possibility/chance to love you. As you say privilege and choice - and possibility. Just because you love someone doesn't mean that this love is reciprocated or that it can be, that it is allowed to be. Jamie and Claire had to learn this in a very painful way. They were robbed of the opportunity to love each other. When they were finally reunited after all those years, they knew that sharing your life with the one you love is not a given. They enjoy every moment together all the more, show their love for each other and are happy to finally be able and allowed to love the other. It is indeed a privilege to be allowed to love and to be loved back, to be able to choose and to be chosen. For both of them, it really was and is like a miracle, like the fulfillment of a dream. They have always loved each other, far beyond time and space, but now they can live this love. And there is nothing that fulfills them more or makes them happier. Come what may, they will always choose each other. Both have been changed by the love of the other. They recognize each other, see the deepest inner self of the other and give each other the freedom to be who they are. And they support each other in being who they are, in doing what is their vocation or what makes them happy, but also in things that they have to do out of necessity, even if they are actually reluctant to do them. They always have each other's backs. They do not want to change each other, they love each other's strengths and weaknesses and yet they change through each other's love. Not wanting to change the other person does not mean that you can't hold up a mirror to them and point out their faults from time to time. It just means that you love the other person despite these faults (or precisely because of them). And so you can grow, change and improve through the love of the other person, always knowing that they will never let you down. This is a very essential part of their love and in the years of separation, this essence was missing. Claire did not experience this acceptance, this understanding of her personality through Frank. He loved her despite everything that had happened and yet he couldn't see into her soul or possess it the way Jamie did. That takes sacrifice (as Jamie realized correctly). The willingness to give up one's own soul for the other's. And that's what he did, whether with BJ or when he sent Claire back or simply by opening himself up to her completely and giving her his heart, his soul, himself from the very beginning. Clairen has indeed realized herself after her return, solely out of the need to give her life a meaning that goes beyond being a mother. But also to build on the feeling of having a special position through her abilities and to follow her calling. Frank let her do it, but he never understood why it was important to her and how much it defined her as a person. He would have been satisfied if she had simply been a housewife and mother. Jamie, on the other hand, admired, recognized and loved her skills. Just like the fact that she was different from every other woman. Jamie also missed the essence of their love in the years after he sent her back. He had to slip into so many different roles without ever being able to be who he really is. And after Claire, there was no one he could and wanted to confide in or show his innermost self to. He was a warrior, a leader, a traitor on the run, in prison or in captivity, the father of a bastard he was not allowed to acknowledge, a book printer and smuggler. Always forced to show his strength, to hide and suppress his weaknesses, fears, desires and needs. No wonder he almost lost himself in the process. What touches me incredibly about Jamie and Claire is the fact that they knew what it was like to open up to someone completely. How good it feels to love and be loved for your own sake. How love can be when you give yourself to it unconditionally. And yet they were never willing to look for this in someone else. This love was only meant for them. The feeble attempts to make their loneliness more bearable through physical closeness to others failed rigorously with the realization that there was no substitute for what they had given each other. For what connected them, the special thing between them. It only made the loss even clearer. It's heartbreaking and it chokes me up every time I think about it💔. And so the words I get to love you are an expression of liberation from a life without the possibility of giving one's love to the one to whom it belongs and the bliss of now having this possibility. Thank you for understanding my thoughts, feelings and intentions, that your words often speak to me from the soul and that you take the time to share your thoughts with me. I appreciate it very much🙏🏼🥰🩷✨ PS: The scene at Brianna's wedding always gets under my skin too. It shows Jamie's soft side in a very touching way. How sentimental he gets when he thinks back to his wedding with Claire and the vows, when he is reminded of how it all began. A little melancholy and sadness about how much time they lost, how it could have been if he hadn't sent her away. And finally, happiness, gratitude and still a little disbelief that she is now by his side. As they look at each other, Claire's eyes show unspoken agreement and understanding. She reads his thoughts and shares his feelings and they both repeat their promise: As long as we both shall live... nothing will ever separate us again, take away our love, we are meant for each other, for eternity🫠🥹💗

So profound... The lyrics "I get to love you" take on even more meaning in light of this and all the years of their emotional stasis with no hope of ever fully moving out of it. The gratitude and the joy of being back in that place of giving yourself freely to another human being, being able to safely abandon yourself to the love of your life, knowing your are known and loved for yourself. You know it's real because you feel exactly the same way. I get to do this. I get to have this. It's breathtaking! I'm so glad that I can enter in to what you have in mind. It's so enjoyable!

@@tunes4pics Hi again, I guessed from the moment I found your channel you were a hopeless romantic 💝 my dear late husband was a hopeless romantic too just like Jamie, the day I met him he bowed and kissed my hand when he introduced himself, as a fifteen year old I was very impressed, and he continued to impress me for the rest of his life, my Son is a 6ft. 3in. replica of his dad with his sense of humour, I too feel sorry for those who don’t have a sense of fun and romance ….. life would be very dreary and sad without one:) take care and have a lovely Sunday with your adopted Jamie & Claire 💘😍🤗
