I love the wanted posters and the newspaper clippings. I would buy the set just to collect those. I also loved the old school D&D monster manual style in the Forgotten Realms set.

The cards with the vault set symbol are from “The Big Score,” which was supposed to be a mini set like MOM Aftermath, but they scrapped that idea after that set failed horribly so they just kinda put them in OTJ boosters lol

btw rudy, in regards to your last point, would you be willing to do a commander night with your family with the precons? seems like you can enjoy current magic that way in fun manner and not trading off much.

For the mythic count, you should NOT include the Vault pulls. Every card was turned into a 'mythic', regardless of a Tualatin utility or value.

The Vault icon is the "Big Score" sub-set Rudy. Originally they were going to be a sep. Epilogue style set but after failure of Aftermath last year WOTC just shoved "The Big Score" into Outlaws instead. It's why there are more mythics than expected as well.

The Prosperity Post cards were "upshifted" in rarity, right? I think that's what contributes to the high mythic counts, somewhat.

Cool seeing you react to this, great set IMO tons of instant classic cards, good lands, good reprints, unique theme, fun drafting. Will age well, play boosters in particular

Box opening was about a 3 out of 5, patreon got a bunch of good 20$ cards, and a Textured foil. The weiss schwartz opening you did last week was like a 6 out of 5.

The wanted posters and newspaper pages certainly aren't the worst showcase frames they have pushed out since they started doing them.

If you haven't already can you talk about safe places for newer collectors to buy singles and maybe boxes. I have realized that there are counterfeits and even boxes that are opened and resealed to make look like they haven't been opened.

Ixalan has the Jurassic Park stamped cards and wilds of Eldraine has the confetti foils both of witch are nice chases

I paid $280 at an lgs for a collector box pulled textured primal vigor and a mana drain, and still didn't come close to breaking even Fun cards though

Of the top 10 cards in price order, Rudy pulled 7 of 10, with a load of vaultborne tyrants, currently sitting on the number 2 slot.

Man.. This is so fucking far from all the things I think about when I think „Magic: The Gathering“. From the box art to the card art, from the AI-ish art to the non-existing medieval-ish flavour. I am so far right now that I cant really hate it. I cant hate what I cant feel. What a bunch of soulless, dead pieces of paper.

I like this set but man I've had super terrible luck with this set. Like beyond terrible. Ive opened about 30 collector boosters and most packs ive gotten like $6 worth of cards. Ive had like 3 packs where i didn't lose my ass. Id rather spend more and buy MH3 as I'm averaging about $34 value per collector booster on that set and im at pack #91
