They have no lawful authority to demand papers of any kind, or see in the back. The looking in the van is actually an unlawful search & you should lodge a formal complaint with their professional standards department as soon as you can
What's the point in that? As shown it was just quick and simple to just do as they asked and get on his way. Why waste time for both parties by arguing about it which will only lead to vehicle checks and bad attitudes?
@@daveyorkvh it depends. I was asked to show what was in my shopping bag, so I had to tell them off to let them know they are violating their own rules. Most cops are fine and doing a great job, but those overstepping their boundaries get the absolute minimum of collaboration from me required by law, as that is what they deserve
I've seen another video of a traffic stop during the lockdown. The victim explained he was a key worker. The police officer stated " it's ok we have no powers to demand proof of key worker status " . You gave in too easily. Everytime a police officer over reaches thier powers we have a duty to resist. Our forefathers did not fight the Nazis for Britain to become like this.
Excellent comment though many if not most Police officers and PCSO's are good people ready to offer a helping hand if needed, that said the Police should wee out any offensive, corrupt, violent, or jobs worth to reassure the public and become an impartial force
Whilst our forefathers were fighting the Nazis the British police were 100x worse than they are now. In the days before camera phones the thugs in uniform would regularly beat up anyone who didn't fit their view of an upstanding member of society. The fabled 'clip round the ears was the tip of the iceberg.
People as compliant as you just make life difficult for the rest of us. Plod has no such powers. You aren't even obliged to speak to them. Why show them inside your vehicle?
Pretty much what I was going to say ..... To the police ( or any other 'authority' figure ) ... Are you assuming that I am consenting to your self assumed 'authority' ??
sean kirby Why not ? The police seemed quite reasonable and by complying with the guidelines (and yes I know they are just guidelines) we can all get back to going to the pub etc sooner.
@@murraymarshall5865 Police are not paid to uphold guidelines. Going to the pub won't be happening whether you or I comply with guidelines or not. If Plod arrests you they have to comply with law. It's only that and not guidelines. Sheeple.
sean kirby What has any of that got to do with the video? If you think complying with the guidelines makes someone a sheep, I have to think you don’t comply with the guidelines, if so that makes you an ignorant fuckwit!
Reggie Cyde He is saying nothing of the kind, he is saying be a responsible person, think of the greater good rather than selfish reasoning, it people acted responsibly there would be no need for policing of activities, unfortunately there are too many fuckwits out there who think they know better or think “it won’t happen to me”.
@Eileen Pritchard its a lockdown you absolute nut case. you're allowed to go for a walk just not drive to the destination you want to walk because again, we're in lockdown.
National police chiefs council says that you don't need any written proof of a need to go to work or volunteering. Police should not ask for I.D. documents or any other kind of document. ARE YOU A CONSTABLE ?
Eric Milligan y are you so over entitled they’re seeing why he’s out in a lockdown. We need police like North Korea or something to make sure people stay in check
Martial Law would require vast numbers to police - I haven't seen a single police officer or police vehicle since the lockdown commenced. How will it be enforced without the relevant manpower?
It does not mention or state that PCSO's are key workers on that list so why are the streets flooded with PCSO' when they clearly are not police officers. they should be sent home during lockdown, or comletely eliminated.
There are such a lot of key workers missing from that or any other list I have seen yet all of them are essential in one way or another and some if not many do not have or carry status letters or permissions, I agree the list needs to be updated and more comprehensive
uktokers no but why wouldn’t you cooperate to help stop the spread of the virus. , to save lives and to ease the pressure on the NHS ? The temporary rules and laws aren’t there as punishment but are there because of expert scientific advice on how to try and control this virus and to minimise the impact of the virus .
joyce jennings The point is we are not legally compelled to prove where we are going or the purpose of our journey. I’m absolutely doing my bit by staying at home but I don’t want to be harassed by police when I lawfully leave my house. I was taking precautions back in February when the country was carrying on as normal and before our Prime Minister was boasting about shaking peoples hands in a hospital where he claimed there were Coronavirus patients. Now we’ve got police stopping vehicles and getting up close to drivers windows to ask where they’re going which is the ideal way to spread a virus. 🤦♀️
This clapping is pissing me off!! There empty ffs!! There being laid off or assigned to other areas that’s also empty!! People are waking up to this bs!!
Was speaking with a lady who works in our local registry office who is getting a large number of calls from people who are upset about the way the death of loved ones is put down as covid 19 but actually died of cancer.
you are not obliged to answer the police's questions or show them anything especially inside you vechile , i guess you didnt want the hassle but big thumbs down for complying with dictators
I've seen roughly 50 or so pull overs. cops always ask for papers first through the driver window. That didn't happen here. along with no police lights and him staring at the cops crotch the entire time, I'm going to say this is a fake pull over.
Another humorous video, thanks :D Just why did they need to look in the back? All they needed was your letter. Where they worried in case you were smuggling Liverpudlians through the Tunnel to a Better life?
They didn't. the video is pretty fake. No lights off reflective surfaces, him staring at what would be the cops crotch, no police introduction, and you can't even hear the would be cop despite the mic being so loud. When police pull you over they ask for documents through the window as a safety measure before anything else.
Stopped by northumberland police whilst in lockdown . Letter for key worker shown and allowed to do my security job . 100% satisfied with the way the police handled my situation in a professional manner . 😃

I find your post hilarious. This person posted an obvious fake pull over on the internet to get people like you to think the police are out of control. And you fell for it.
@@YukoValis tell that to the rape victims in Rotherham, I recommend a RU-vid channel called Crimebodge, which exposes Police corruption, this might help you realize that it is you who has been fooled and are still fooling for it.

Here are the actual restrictions on movement issued by the government. I cant seem to find the bit about "key workers" or "only one form of exercise a day close to your home for less than one hour" or "you cant drive to a place to exercise" or any of the other little bits the media and local authority's keep tagging on. (1) During the emergency period, no person may leave the place where they are living without reasonable excuse. (4) Paragraph (1) does not apply to any person who is homeless.
Do their new laws include insisting on looking in the back of your car? That has nothing to do with their reason for stopping you, you could of told them no..
ANYONE, not just 'key workers' or 'essential workers', is allowed to travel for work. It is EXPRESSLY permitted in the Legislation. STAY HOME! STAY SAFE! 🍌😷😀
@@joycejnn That is not the case. The only businesses COMPELLED to close have been those where large numbers of people gather, such as pubs and restaurants. All other businesses may open if they wish, providing they implement procedures to maintain "social distancing" and to safeguard their staff and customers as best as possible. One may take the view that only 'essential' businesses SHOULD be open, and that is a perfectly reasonable view. That is NOT the view the Government currently holds. God I am so glad I live in Florida. The police here weren't given the opportunity to practice the goose step. Our local police chief flat out said he would not enforce any lockdown measures. People were good about masks and social distancing, and Fla- with a larger than average elderly population- has had fewer deaths (as % of population) than other states with lockdowns (and a more damaged state economy as a result. My parents are British, and it's been sad to see Britain slide towards authoritarianism.
I'm sure faking a police stop doesn't come under key or essential work. There is plenty of real evidence out there showing police overreaching their powers. Making videos like this only goes to trivialise the real issue. If this meant to be a joke, you need to highlight it as such. You complain about fake news yet complicit in making it.
@@iluvgsds Did they say under the RTA? if it was the not allowed to look in the back or want to see papers he's a key worker. No one has to prove anything.
There is NO restriction on travelling to work for ANYONE! No employer's letter or ID or anything else is needed. The LEGAL restrictions are set out in Section 6 here: www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/350/made . Unless the police have a compelling reason to believe you are NOT legally travelling, they have no right to stop and question you. Why they would even WANT to look in the back is beyond me, but, again, they have no right to do it. How you handle any interaction with the police is, of course, entirely up to you, but remember, YOU HAVE RIGHTS and the police must (or, at least, SHOULD) ACT WITHIN THE LAW. Simply doing what a police officer WANTS is to surrender to tyranny. The only businesses COMPELLED to close have been those where large numbers of people gather, such as pubs and restaurants. All other businesses may open if they wish, providing they implement procedures to maintain "social distancing" and to safeguard their staff and customers as best as possible. If it's a traffic stop no need to speak to the Tyrants just show what you need i.e driving license insurance and stay silent they need a search warrant to look in your car everything about that stop was illegal as he only stopped you to see if you were a key worker not a traffic violation guide lines are not laws and can not be stopped in your freedom of movement
They have no right to look in your vehicle. What if you were just shopping for an elderly relative? you wouldn’t have any proof of key worker status but would have full rights to be out on the road. Tell plod ef off.
@@YukoValis yet another stupid reply from yourself, you've made many on almost every post. "This is just the start",meaning the beginning of our civil rights and freedoms being removed from our lives. You'd have to be utterly braindead not to understand that simple comment. I don't blame you,I blame your parents.
That police stop looks pretty fake. I don't see any emergency lights bouncing off all the reflective surfaces you pass. The entire time it looks like you would be staring at the cops crotch, and your eyes shift like there is no one there. on top of that the cop sounds like they are standing 20 feet away from you. If your microphone is that loud for you, and barely picking up the police, I doubt you could even understand what they are saying. Lastly, when a cop pulls you over they generally introduce themselves and why they pulling you over. Since the moment you rolled down the window, there was no time for them to do that.
@@nophotoshopphotography.7131 1: he doesn't act like it is all fake. In fact he seems to play it up like it actually happens. 2: That doesn't stop him from riling up tons of hate in his comments for police when he obviously set up a fake stop.
Many thanks for doing this essential work, I admire people like you. Hope that checks can be less stressful for you our heroes. The paperwork should suffice
Nice bit of comedy, no wonder it's listed as entertainment. If you were going for a more realistic feel , then have the camera inside the vehicle and actually wear the seatbelt correctly, rather than sitting on it. Sorry if someone has already said the same but I can't be bothered to read all the comments.
Well that’s an unlawful stop! They used the lights and sirens for a non emergency. Why the hell didn’t the camera man do anything about that? Demand badge numbers and an explanation for the camera as to why they are abusing the law and why they aren’t acting within accordance of the oath that took the day they became a cop. Rights are like muscles. If we don’t use them regularly they will fade away. Anyone happy to let there rights slip away deserves the police state dictatorship they will end up living in.
Their stopping him under the 163 road traffic act, then asking him about the corona stuff. Its obviously an abuse of power since their not even bothering with checking people documents.

Watch it again.. No police lights, a chase siren, him staring at the supposed cops crotch, no cop introduction or ask of papers through the window like they would 100% of the time, high volume mic, but barely audible police, no sign of a cop. This is a VERY fake video.
Maybe if the NHS staff down in the trenches (front line) didn't sing and dance so much, then they would deserve a clap, but I won't clap for dancing nurses, especially the ones who are wearing valuable ppe items.
Actually if you know anything about police, that is a chase siren. Also notice there was no police lights off any reflective surface. Combining that with the fact any pull over generally starts with license request and introductions through the window... this was obviously a fake pullover.
I just got the vouchers for the kids school meals to spend in either Tesco's or ASDA when the kids go back to school the vouchers will stop so I hope the polices new powers will stop as soon as the lockdown finishes

What gave it away? The complete lack of video evidence? The horrendous acting? The badly synced conversation with the imaginary officer? Or maybe because the police completely overlooked the fact he wasn't wearing his seat belt?
