i get quite a few customers that just don't seem to think that inside of windows gets dirty. But I agree 100% with you, the windows sparkle WAY more after doing both inside and outside!
Yep and I learned to just go ahead and accept drinks and snacks if they offer too. If they don't want insides I usually offer to do the kitchen window inside at no extra cost (since they usually look out that window)
Excellent business advice on giving quotes for additional services. Not only does that get me to remember them for the other services but if I was thinking about doing them it might get me to do both services at the same time. You'd make a great business consultant.
I'm in Sydney Oz and very rarely do i just clean the outsides. Most of the big homes these days have shower screens, mirrors, and balustrade glass.Customers love it when you do the shower glass and mirrors especially if they havent asked you and you do it as a bit of a suprise/freebie. I use large beach towels when im working inside, whether its carpet ,timber floor or tiles i always lay a few towels down and of course use the minimum amount of water.
I had to bring up my office in a building that we leased. It is in Las Vegas Nevada. The HOA for the office building only pays to have the exterior windows done. We want all of them done. We have to hire a separate cleaning crew to come in and do the inside windows. Granted, the inside windows are tougher. We have desks next to them and that means they have to go around the desks and get to the windows one way or the other. But, unfortunately most of the units in here probably do not pay to get the interior windows washed. Very great video. Thank you very much for posting it.
I find it’s important to be able to chat with clients. I sometimes spend 1-2 hours talking with clients, but receive tips, referrals, and praise from talking with them. They get to know you, you get to know them.

Only be caution with fire glass, or plastic. You will immediately notice it when you use the squeegee. Especially plastic glass, dont touch it with the pole or the squeegee, it wil scratch immediately.
When I started to learn how. One of my first houses was my sister’s house. Her blinds were old and I couldn’t lift them, I asked her to try. Then between the two of us, we like destroyed her blinds. Since that day, I’ve been so worried that I’m going to damage something in a house.
This is exactly why I say window cleaning is basic maintenance, not a luxury. When something doesn't work, what's the first question a good tech will ask? "When's the last time you cleaned it?" Every building needs all its windows cleaned inside and out on a regular basis to keep things working properly. Simple common sense. As an industry, I think it behooves us to sell it as basic, routine, regular maintenance, not a luxury only rich people can afford.
We clean the outside every 3 months and the inside every 6 months. It's generated more business for us and the customer's windows stay clean year round without having to pay the full price everytime.

I'm looking to get into residential window cleaning just as a side hustle but I'm stuck on the fact that a ladder isn't a viable option for me but majority of the houses here are 2 stories but have a roof on the first story over the garage or something (not sure what that's called, almost like a dormer roof?) that blocks a major window or two on the second floor. Is it possible to reach those with a telescope pole? If not is there any alternative or is it really just a ladder or WFP at that point?
Its hard to say, the pole is a little bit flexibel but if the Windows are too far back you cannot use the pole. Its always a gamble if it works. My preference is using a ladder, washing by hand is quality wise superior. The pole does not clean the sills verry nice, especially on the bigger heights where you cant see the top of the sill.
Hey Steveo, I'm up north in Alberta and it's starting to get cold up here. I started this year so I was just wondering on what the ratio would be for my cleaning solution? Around temperatures of like -7 degrees celsius (19 fahrenheit) would it be 50/50 with a bit of soap? and at what temperature do I start just using almost straight windshield washer fluid? Anyways, love the vids man!
