I don't know what which political party to vote for on the 29th of May. Because I ask: What's in it for me if I cast my vote for this particular political party?
Not according to the law. Education up till Grade 9 is a legal requirement, after that you can opt out, and the hopes are branch out to other avenues. But many don’t, hence we have a whole category called NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training)
In other words she wants a larger state i.e socialism. Well socialism takes from those who are business people and redistributes to those who have less. Taxing resource extraction like the mines is okay because those minerals are national wealth but taxing the common business in the industrial sector is suicide for the economy and the state because those businesses simply relocate to Zambia, Botswana, Australia etc. I wonder if she understands this? The South African education system teaches people to be workers instead of to create their own jobs which is what youth are actually suppossed to be doing whilst they still have the energy and imagination. Sadly having an "education" does not garuntee anybody a job but having a skill that can create a job for self does garuntee employment. The education system needs to be reformed to reflect the reality of the economy. I feel sorry for these young people, they dont realise they are competing in a global market and factories as well as the corresponding admin jobs simply refuse to produce in SA because of lower wages in Asia , South America plus a much more stable political/economic environment like in Mexico,Vietnam. Anyway the young better learn fast the reality of the situation instead of the false promises they were tricked with by politicians who even know basic maths and then blame everybody else when things dont materialise as they promised.
