This is actually such a difficult moment to act and this multilanguage shows it very well. Although at first there is indeed supposed to be humor in her crying, but just as quickly as the viewer is tempted to laugh at her we are also supposed to realize just how much she’s actually suffering. So the voice actresses have to play it up a bit in the beginning but hold back just enough in the third „I’m caaaaaaaalm“ to completely act serious when Chang‘e breaks down. Quite some actresses couldn’t deliver the right balance or were given a different direction that either lost the humor or ruined the legit heartbreak. Very interesting to compare and I’m so glad our German voice actress gave such a great performance!
Yes, this is very true! The actors portrayed it beautifully, we see all the emotion! Most/some actors aren’t good at that like you said so this one scene really payed off in the end.
