Overanalyzed: Ganyu's Constellations | C4 is a Trap | Genshin Impact 

Update: For those who did not fully understand my explanation for Constellation Lv.4, here's another example. Let's say you have, +46.6% elem goblet +35% charged attack from 4pc Wanderer Your damage multiplier is now at 100%+46.6%+35% = 181.6% You gain 5% DMG increase from the first few seconds of C4 effect. (181.6%+5%)/181.6% = 2.75% actual damage increase You gain 25% DMG increase from the last few seconds of C4 effect. (181.6%+25%)/181.6% = 13.76% actual damage increase Basically, you get 2.75% damage increase that ramps up to 13.76% damage increase within 15 seconds. Technically you can halve the max 13.76% to get the average damage increase which is 6.88%. Also, every single team member doesn't have to be calculated seperately, I'm already giving the ACTUAL damage/DPS increase. Whether your team output is high or not, you get an average 6.88% DPS increase within C4's effect. I need sleep. I've been working on this guide for straight 19 hours. How about overanalyzing C6 4* characters? I think a lot more people have close to C6 4*s and would like to see power spikes between those levels more.

You forgot to mention that having additional charge on her Elemental Skill means she generates more cryo energy particles, which in turn enables her to quickly charge her Elemental Burst and possibly spam it. Anyway, great vid as always!

You should have mentioned that her c1 and c2 help a LOT with her energy recharge, so you can basically forgo that substat from artifacts. She should have no issues with full burst uptime with c2. Also if you chain her burst on cd, the next iteration of her burst starts with the 25% damage increase on an enemy instead of the ramp up. Apart from that, great video. I was surprised to see her c4 being additive too when i tested it haha. Also another cool note to mention is that at c6 you can pool up a charged shot with your skill, wait for the skill to come off cd and then do a quick charged shot -> skill -> charged shot -> skill -> charged shot burst ^^

though c4 have diminishing effect and I agree with it, still if you build a bit proper energy recharge you could spam those Elemental Burst, which would cause a constant increase dmg to all kind attack and will turn out good support constellation on coop and a long battle imo. well just my thought

Best type of guide, an interesting read and analysis. Almost no practical application unless you're a whale, but it's still great content! Edit: I would absolutely love to see something like this on testing non-limited heroes, such as Mona (who I was actually able to get a constellation of) since there's a higher chance of it becoming more relevant as people acquire dupes over playing the game.

I love this kind of video! Been searching for a great explanation for 3 days, now it's over. I just need to watch it again when Ganyu rerun is up. Just want to add something, C4 can be a really huge huge power spike if you could clump up enemies due to the shard's aoe. Unless you have a really good team comp like the Morgana comp or even a venti combo, then C4 is not worth the pull. Just save on the upcoming banners/rerun. Thank you for this! I would have gone for C2 if Xiao, my literal favorite unit (due to style) was not the next banner, Ganyu carried me thru a 33-star Abyssal Spire clear, my best run ever, even at C0 Lvl70/70. Great vid as always. To my knowledge all damage multipliers function as part of the same additive pool, so I fully expected her C4 to function the way it does. Personally I'd like to see Fischl over-analyzed next. Her constellations seem the most ambiguous out of all the 4*s.

The C4 Ganyu sounds like the Mona burst DMG Amp, which from my understanding is also treated as an additive DMG% bonus. Speaking which, I'd appreciate a Mona Constellation guide! I just got her to C1. A Keqing overanalysis would probably be a good idea with the banner coming up!

Entertaining video, i have a c0 ganyu on my f2p alt account, she's lv80/80, with a pretty decent blizzard 4pc, lv90 blackcliff longbow, her non buffed stats are 1950 attack, 42% c-rate, 179% C-dmg and 60ish % cryo, and she doesn't come even close to dmg output of your Ganyu, first hit crits for around 7k and frostflake crits for 12-13k (non melts), so I'd say ye she's viable (hell she's great if you have no other hypercarry), but nowhere near disgusting op level that most content creators have her at, simply due to consteallations (especially c6) and 5* weapons making her dmg skyrocket.

C4 Talent: Opponents standing within the AoE of Celestial Shower take increased DMG. This effect strengthens over time. Increased DMG taken begins at 5% and increases by 5% every 3s, up to a maximum of 25%.The effect lingers for 3s after the opponent leaves the AoE. It doesn't say that the dmg bonus is limited to Celestial Shower. Enemies take more damage WHEN they are standing within the AoE of Celestial Shower. 1. Can you check if Ganyu's charged shot and elemental skill benefits from this? 2. Can you check if other characters in your team benefit from this? If 1 is true, then your calculation is underestimating the benefit from C4. If 2 is true, that is huge even if the damage bonus is considered as DMG%, because you are essentially buffing your whole team. It would be like a DMG% Noblesse Oblige 4-set effect with almost 100% uptime (because Ganyu charges her ult fast.) She can be built as an extreme buffer with Noblesse Oblige 4-set. I know she is C6 already so DPS is better, but there might be niche scenarios where you can't use her (like Cryo immune enemies, or archers get reduced damage), so you can still use her as a support.

About elemental RES, does debuff from multiple sources stackable or not? Say i have Ganyu C1 so frostflake can reduce 15% and i have anemo char with VV set that can reduce 40%. Can i stack those two for 55% cryo RES reduce or VV debuff will override because it has higher percentage?

🤔 Hmm... Concerning C4, in light of this mismatch of the damage increase with the constellation description, I've become curious if there is also a mismatch with the conditions to trigger the "debuff on enemies"? I don't have Ganyu so I really can't test it and unfortunately have to rely on other people. Its behavior bears a resemblance to the buff granted by Geo Resonance - "When , increases Attack DMG by X%". It might actually be buffing characters within the field instead of debuffing enemies in it. If this is the case then this is a serious error by Mihoyo. Granted Mihoyo's track record on description-effect discrepancies, I suppose we can expect apologems soon? 🙏

id love to see chongyun overanalyzed.. his cons seemed powerful on paper imo, and id like to know what his c2 can do to other charas

So C4 +25% dmg bonus is even less significant if you happen to use amos bow and mona's omen debuff then.

Does using Ganyu's burst off cooldown keep the 25% damage increase? It says the effect lingers for 3 seconds away from the burst field so that should be plenty of time to recast the burst. If not her C4 really is quite bad.

ok ive been thinking about ganyu c2 and i think its not a 10/10 as you have rated. its like saying its just as better as the c1 which provides you way more damage bonus than c2 not to mention the energy recharge it already provides. it might look like the 900% burst damage of 2 stacks provided by c2 to be good but its only like that initially since it only goes on cooldown 1 at a time so after youve used 2 stacks, its like youre already at c1, but yes cooldown management will be a lot easier with 2 stacks. damage wise i dont think so since it only takes 1 arrow shot to compensate for the burst damage of 2 stacks. 6 second duration of taunt at 10 second cooldown i think is enough to land a few shots and re cast the skill. probably a 6-7/10 for me but yea i only have c1 so take it as it is.

Doesn't her C4 buff other character as well? (Coming from my interpretation of the description). May be you could analyze it from the team dps too? C1 really help other cryo team member, while C2 help the energy regeneration. I only have her C1 tho so I might be wrong. May be Keqing next as her banner is coming and it's feasible to get her constellation since she's in perma banner. The other 4 Star character might be ideal as well.

Though we appreciate these guides but I would consider those guides for 4* characters. The whalers has invest so much in either constellation or artifacts/weapons so far I guess they don't really care. Amos bow + really good artifacts is already extremely powerful.

What is your build? I have amos but i'm still not satisfied with the damage, and i'm sure there's a bug with Ganyu on PS4 sometimes she does 22,000 + bloom damage sometimes 21,000 it's really weird, and it's not because of the bows passive.

It's usually quite a pain in the ass to see content creators just masquerading flexing with low quality "guide". Since Arknights, I always find your guide to be one of the few exceptions, that it actually enjoyable n informative, no flex could be found. I hope u can give some good 4 stars characters their own spotlight too, especially relatable for F2P or mild spender players.

to be fair, this is a really niche contents since not many players can pull 5* characters, not to mention multiple constellations for 5*. overall analysis of 5* characters is fine, deep diving into their constellations seems not necessary (especially if it takes 19 hours of your time) try to analyze more 4* characters if you can to cast a "wider net" so to speak.

You didn't seem to emphasize that C4 affects Ganyu's every damage source which gives it a big advantage over her other damage cons. I don't understand why this was dismissed. E: Not to mention the entire partys damage. C4 is actually nuts and probably more worth than any of the other cons in a prolonged fight. Fact is we don't have those but who's to say it's not gonna happen in the future.
