Graham is such a cool laid back dude! I've had the privilege to ride with him on the Mont Blanc Enduro tour. I learned so much just hanging out with him. Congrats on making the jump!
Thanks! Me and Graham are already discussing where we can go to jump bigger jumps now.. I would promise for both of us not to break ourselves so we can continue guiding fine folks like yourself, but given his track record I think I better make that promise only for myself 😉
Thank you Emily! This is awesome!! I love your positive language and clear, concise explanations. Now I just have to hit that road gap in a few weeks!! :-)))
Prime example of working as a team with your friends and being rational eh! Ironically enough though, I couldn't take a tow-in from him on it because for some reason when the thing is extra scary/more consequential, I don't really like following! Luckily most people are not so weird and a tow-in will be very helpful!
Thank you! Emily, you’ve shown me it’s okay to be ‘in your head’ with stuff that freaks me out and you’ve shown me which part of my head it should be. Awesomenessnessness!
Nice work. I never managed to pluck up the courage for that road gap when I was there. It's definitely sizeable and you don't want to be landing on the knuckle!!!
Exactly! Although it turns out you can slightly tag it on these fancy new DH bikes (this is my first one in 8-9 years) and not notice! If you can get round the berm before it no-brakes (or as close to no brakes as possible), pump or jump the little table/rise before it, you're golden.
I've been getting into my own head and seem to correct it. Couple months ago had a bad wreck on a drop off . So since then I've ridden the same trails with drop offs but I've gone around it . I keep telling myself gotta do it gotta get over that fear just no luck .
Well, one thing that I didn't mention in this video is patience. It's almost interchangeable with confidence, as sometimes it can take time to (re)build the confidence, so maybe you just need a bit more time. If you haven't already, it's definitely worth stopping at that particular drop-off and getting rational on it too. Even if you don't ride it on that same occasion, spending some time working through what you need/should do to get over it (run-up, speed required, etc) will most likely filter through and might help speed up the confidence re-build. Good luck... if you've done it successfully in the past, then looking at it objectively, you know you're capable. Just gotta get over that blip 😉
4:30 hahahahahaha! yes! I am figting to go down 4 speps, 4 bumpi ugly steps 😕😅 I am really new in to riding, I am a city rider that need to go betwen cars and breaking change speed to acelerate fast and change back to higy and run fast. It´s amaizing. But I need a mountain seruisly.
