Once I stop looking outside of myself for happiness, validation. I realized l was alone but was not lonely. I enjoyed my own company and I have peace and joy everyday.

How this resonates with me, I was the loneliest I have ever been when in my relationships. I have lived alone now for four years, I have loved it, I enjoy my aloneness, I need it, unfortunately my partner never understood my need. Thankyou so much for your words 💚

Loneliness versus 'onlyness'...there is an infinite difference between the two. One can still be lonely while in a crowd however when one achieves 'onlyness' there is no more loneliness. 'Onlyness' is experiencing the unity and interconnectivity of the cosmos. Thank you for this teaching. Your worlds are made more powerful as you speak from your own experience.

The lies go back MUCH farther than people today realize. At 64, I've always enjoyed onlyness. Always!

Loneliness feels harsh only when you can't do something yourself, practically, without assistance. When you're all right being by yourself emotionally and can cope with it practically, solitude feels ok.

I've been happily and healthfully solo and introverted for the last decade, and in that time, I have really come to Love myself and my own company. Some people take it personally, but it's because they have their own expectations of me. I am going on 45 now and I realize more and more that I am not responsible for anyone's happiness except my own (and my animals!) 🙏💙

I've felt extremely lonely in my past two relationships. I've been in therapy for over two years, read more books then ever in my adult life, and still struggle every day. I chose to respectfully walk away from both relationships with the most positive goodbye. I miss them both, but embracing my inadequacy, shame, unworthiness, insecurities and unhealed wounds is my focus and what's best for mental and emotional health. Thank you, you are appreciated!

In the mid-2000s, I got involved with a group of about 30-40 people who would get together once a year to hang out in Death Valley. I considered them to be "friends." I was misguided, and I learned this the hard way. A "friend" of mine was a narcissist who had a motive for spreading lies about me. That group of people believes all of the lies, and ruined my life. I learned the hard way that they were never truly my friends, and that they were using me to get what they wanted. Long story short, MySpace was very popular, and I worked there. Looking back, they requested lots of favors. Now, I have been alone and keep to myself. I learned about my Major Depressive Disorder and High-Functioning Autism. I spent years working on that, and they were some dark times. Today, I'm mentally and physically healthy. I live alone in the middle of nowhere, and I truly enjoy it. Had I tried this in the mid-2000s, I would have felt very lonely. I don't feel the need to fit in with any groups. If I happens, I will view it as a bonus, and not the main course.

Wow wow wow I was just saying all of this. I lost my husband in 2018, then entered an incredibly toxic relationship, then was forced to embrace being alone. I was terribly depressed for a year or 2 but then, after much meditation, I noticed I quite like myself. Yes, sometimes I’m cringe, but also I have some deep thoughts that entertain the hell out of me. After getting to know myself this way I am so intolerant of surface-level conversation. So, like u said, it’s good bc I enjoy being alone, but it’s bad bc I am so picky and really make people work (not intentionally) to get my attention.

Thank you, we are all very blessed, grateful and thankful for your kind heart, soft ways and wise words. I have known for decades (I'm 56) that one needs to love, trust and respect themselves before one can truly love, trust and respect others. When you said the word 'intimate' a bell went off, for that is the perfect word, just one word says it all. Peace to you friend..❤🙏💜

We don't always want to be physically with other people... but we need to know they are there for us. That deep feeling nourishes you too. Knowing there is a community there is a hug to the soul too. A balance with the main one: the precious love for your own Self.

Thank you. A big feeling I have about aloneness is that it is selfish. Or meaningless. That meaning comes from helping others. Although I don't know how to help others. Or myself. I've been alone most of my life now it seems. Isolated. I haven't done well with it. I've been delirious in my isolation. Fallen into the labyrinth. Yes, I need to accept my aloneness. But I need a meaningful interaction with others, a purpose
@lukecollman9145
@lukecollman9145 Год назад
Find a hobby and join with others when you feel like it. Join a landcare group for example, planting trees doing revegatation etc. Rewarding while you can engage as much as you like. Help yourself by understanding yourself better and what makes you happy! Being lost is often an illusion, make simple purpose replace thise emotions. Start a garden for example. Be " the keeper of the plants" forget others perceived expectations and liberate yourself to be more free. As you weren't born to be enslaved to others on any level. A meaningful existence is in the eye of the beholder! ✌
@yappysgirl5573
@yappysgirl5573 Год назад
Aloneness itself isn't selfish if it is spent pursuing wisdom, growth, and health. Remember the Hippocratic oath- first, do no harm. But we can also develop an unhealthy dynamic of being cloistered away, whether it's self imposed due to fear and avoidance, or because we can't figure out how to navigate. Perhaps try to stop seeing your aloneness as negative and seek the things that can be gleaned, but also look for lower risk/demand ways to get back out a bit, as the previous responder suggested, so you can do both at the same time. Much luck, I think you are already on the path, it's just a little lacking in lighting at the moment.

I can relate to this a lot. I’m alone pretty much all of the time as well. Since I was a child pretty much- friends came and went, but nowadays no friends, no family, no real community. There is more peace, but also the lonely needy feelings come up too. I have had a resistance to being alone too- spending a lot of time on the internet etc. but recently coming to terms in acceptance and embracing it too, by sitting a lot in meditation. I realize that many people surround themselves with others and activities to avoid this exact feeling. Since my life doesn’t have many distractions, I can acutely feel this. And all those feelings are constantly coming up in me. I used to cover it up with food too but lately my desire for food too is much less which is a good sign that I’m becoming more okay with being with myself. What I like these days in my slow living is taking my time doing yoga asanas and stretching the body, whatever it feels like doing- it feels good like I’m connecting with myself. Also sitting in meditation and walking alone in nature. The contrast with this slow alone living is jarring when encountering other people who are in the fast lane. Superficial obligatory interactions with the birth family are now starting to feel unbearable and I almost never reach out to them or others for that matter. I kind of rest and see what comes along. Like a leaf, a wind decides to move this leaf into some interactions or settings, then I move there, otherwise I’m kind of floating along in a very different way from the rest of the world and I don’t feel motivated to be a part of those active scenes that are frantically doing this or that.

Thank you for taking the time making these videos and uploading them. I know they can take up a lot of time to do so. Your video are inspiring to me and I hope they are more so to others. I suffer from dyslexia as well as ADHD, OCD, Misophonia, social anxiety, anxiety as well as depression. Last year, you could say I had a awakening, i thought so deeply about life and what it’s really means to be alive, I thought about the government system I was born into. I thought about people and how self absorbed they can be, i thought about how social media and the TV destroys your soul and it’s all designed for you to feed off of it. My next thought was about fame, money power and trends, I can’t see any true happiness in it all, and music we listen to that has no real meaning. I find that I can’t find pleasure in these things. I don’t know if it is just me, but I just don’t like football, but how can billions of people be wrong. My ideal life would be to live with nature, to live in a field next to the woods with a stream. Distance my self from this man made illusion that is called a system. Your videos have made me think of different ways of thinking deeper about my self and pulling me away from my unconscious thoughts that I have been programmed with all these years. I believe that we should not judge or have an opinion about other and just have acceptance. Since my awakening, I have stopped smoking and drinking overnight. My main goal is to be at peace with myself and try to take advantage of everything natural around us. I find that I am no longer rushing around or getting annoyed with people. I seem to stay very calm in heavy traffic now. I believe you’re videos have helped me become who I am now.

Learning how to be alone is CRITICAL in 2023. The biggest public health emergency on the horizon is not a virus, it is *narcissism*. No joke. We have one group of people who are liberating from the delusion of a separate self, and another doubling down on ego. And with the internet and social media, it's happening globally and quickly. I gave up on politics, I meditate and pray now.

Living with the ability to connect with myself as an individual and to learn how to enjoy my own company has been a remarkable experience for my life. It has enabled me to be in a relationship with another person without any fear of them leaving or having a life of their own. I have been married for 40years and we are respectful of each other and ourselves. Not having a relationship that is based on us doing things together as a result of the opinions of others. We are very happy with our love and the beauty of the blessings of being together when we are both engaged in a healthy and timely manner. We both enjoy the time we spend alone with our own unique creative and delightful experiences. It is a process of being present in our own lives with appreciation and gratitude for all of our needs and our individual ways of being true to ourselves and to each other. It enhances the togetherness of our lives when we are sharing our lives in understanding and comfort. Not being dependent upon each other for our joy and comfort. I am very grateful for the opportunities that we both have because of our energies of love and support without any fear, clinging or judgment and the trust and the blessings of finding our own personal journeys and strengths. Attachment should be flexible and in a place of communion with equality and respect.

That I can't hold onto to people I think might come back into my life again, and the things that might or might not happen. I had this odd vision of walking into the ocean, where my aim was to go into the unknown. The second day I drew a random oracle card, where the theme was diving into the ocean and face and ambrace the unkown. For some reason I find this unkown and loneliness to be connected...
