What is Shadow Work? A Guide to Overcoming Self-Sabotage & Living your Full Potential✨

Here's everything you need to know to get started with shadow work! In this video, I'll explain what shadow work is, how to do it, and its benefits✨ So even if you've never heard of the term, after this you'll be able to grab a pen and paper and get started!
Shadow work is the practice of integrating the unconscious parts of yourself and developing them to realize your highest potential. Even though the shadow holds the "worst" parts of your personality, it isn't actually bad, just undeveloped.
Your shadow can show up in your life as fears, insecurities, limiting beliefs, and self-sabotage. You'll notice its influence whenever you're acting against your conscious motivations, in other words, you act against your own interests. And this is because of the nature of the unconscious. Anything that falls prey to the unconscious can no longer be controlled or developed but continues to have an influence over everything you do. This is the danger of your shadow-- it holds the seeds to your potential but as long as it's unconscious, you can't retrieve or develop them.
So if you're feeling stuck, frustrated, and just keep getting in your own way, shadow work may be interesting for you! It will help you understand why you self-sabotage and how you can change it in order to start living your unique potential💭

“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The latter procedure, however, is disagreeable and therefore not popular.” - Carl Jung I hope you like this video, it's a bit longer than usual but I wanted to give a good overview of shadow work & how to do it ~ Let me know if you have any questions or feedback, I'd really appreciate it! 😊

It's the exact opposite of your personality type so it's definitely easy to do. #1. Learn your personality type #2. Find out what your opposite type. #3. Watch 50 to 60 hours of RU-vid videos on the behaviors and Traits of the opposite type. Now that is lessons learned in pure Positivity so it's definitely a great learning experience. INFJ-T to ENFP-T. it's definitely not going to be a negative life experience again.

No thanks I don't need the retardedness that American Women's Shit Circus of American Dating. Ostracized, Invisible and Abandoned for 25 years therefore I will not allow anyone else in my life again because I have nothing to offer anyone so I don't have any Needs or Wants that anyone else can satisfy. What do other Men have that I don't. Social skills and wealthy families. It's a great thing that I have spent 33 out of 44 years old or 77% of my life experience so far lived in Isolation Solitude and Celibate. And that's exactly how I will patiently wait for my final moment alive. Finally I will be able to return home where I belong. Magus Gatekeeper of the 5th gate. I don't think being a Genetic Primary Psychopath INFJ-T is the best possible outcome for law of attraction. Because I have Zero Patience for people who have Zero understanding of Do onto others is and why it is extremely important. Otherwise not guilty by way of Temporary Insanity with a great mess for others to clean up. Therefore I will not allow anyone else in my life again yet you can do whatever you wish and be constrained by your executive functions while I have 6 learned behaviors to supplement my decision making ability. You survive a 98.56 mortality rate from a Frontal lobe collapse get Ostracized from Society in the 3 rd grade tormented and tortured since day one from birth by an older brother. a mom that emotionally abandoned me and a dad I referred to as the big dumb drunk animal. From 4 to 19 every other week getting beat even if I was sleeping because I had to rewire my brain. The first time I heard him yell life or death I was 11 so I have more than a few issues that I acknowledge and I don't care what anyone else has to say. If I'm left alone in isolation living in Solitude and Celibate then everyone else is going to fine so it's definitely ok to believe anything you wish that I would be capable of and the common issues that are fixed within minutes for others. I would love to hear the solution to create something that has never existed before such as future consequences, appropriate punishment for the damage received, along with the other 24 executive functions and how to implement them to automation when they are triggered. Otherwise you enjoy your Journey and I will exist until my final moment alive then be forgotten as soon as possible. I have never belonged here in life yet here I exist. Love doesn't exist external for me so I will not attempt to find it or allow anyone else in my life to destroy me. I'm sick of the retarded Cumdumpsters, whores, and Prostitutes who pretend that they are good girls or I got the wrong idea she is not that type of gal. I insta replied keep telling yourself that and maybe one day you will believe it. What the fuck did you do last night to earn money. When I tried to give her a gift for buying products from me at $250 daily for 5 months. So what the fuck is wrong with women that even prostitutes pretend that they are good woman with High Character Values Morals Standards and Principles? Fuck that stupid shit. I have learned that I have nothing to offer anyone so I will not allow anyone else in my life again because I have a nice collection of hammers and I don't give a shit what happens or who watches me make an amazing mess out of shitty ass people who are not pillars of the community...

The shadow is something that we are imbued with at birth. It only grows from there, to whatever degree we are traumatized in life. Its origins is the unresolved traumas within our parents before they had us, passed down energetically to us. They got it from their parents, and their parents before them and so on and so forth. I've heard people say you can go back as far as 14 generations, however I do not actually know how accurate that number is. Our shadow is comprised of a lot of generational trauma and wounding that has gone unresolved through our lineages...and some of us are lucky or unlucky enough (depending on how you look at it) to wake up to this (sometimes very rudely) and begin the arduous task of doing the inner work that all of our forefathers and foremothers did not do. When you have a child before you've healed all of your inner wounding and traumas... That energy will invariably be passed to your children, which means they're gonna have to deal with it. Both father and mother and then the two of them combine their energies to create us. If neither one of them ever did the work before they created children, It gets passed onto their offspring. That is how it works. Somebody could have an amazing childhood and still have a very dark shadow because of generational trauma energetically passed down. When you add our lived and experienced traumas that get suppressed to the mix, the Shadow gets even darker and borders evil.

This is incredibly interesting & insightful, I really appreciate you taking the time to share all this! While I’ve heard of generational trauma, I know nothing about it and would love to learn more~ I’m curious, if you can’t refer to your lived experiences, how do you go about generational shadow work? Is this still a part of the personal unconscious?
@TheRebelliousMeatPuppet
@TheRebelliousMeatPuppet 3 месяца назад
@@itszoewinter Shadow work is shadow work. Your shadow is your shadow even though a lot of what comprises your shadow.Isn't your own baggage per se. I don't know that there's actually a distinction made for what you referred to as generational shadow work... I think it's all just shadow work. I'm wise in some of these things but i'm not necessarily what anyone would call an expert, so you might want to do a bit of your own research on that to flesh it out yourself...that way you'll know, and it won't just be some theory.

10:26 damn. Thats so eye opening. I get angry for being not understood. For being triggered. For being insulted etc. These things cause a reaction out of me wich stems from the fact that it had an effect on me. Devolping my anger could look like self love, walking away from the situation, journaling to heal MYSELF bc it stirred a trigger in me, so now i can work on that trigger.

Yes!! I’m so happy to hear this! Anger I’ve come to look at as one the most valuable & protective emotions- it serves only you and your values and will show up to protect what’s important to you even when others try to make you feel like it’s not.. but just like you said, it often shows up alongside with other (important!) things and really becomes beneficial once developed because then it’s like a friend looking out for you, you can always trust it🤍

@@itszoewinter yes! Im so happy to have come across this realisation. Emotions in generall are just here to lead us and to protect us especially the "bad" ones. Its like they are the abandoned children who are so angry and bitter at the world. Loving them and accepting them, shines light and the desired attention on them. Emotions and feelings are so intressting. They affect so much. Our beliefs,our life, etc. Is dependent on them. They make or break a person.

wow you explained this concept amazingly clearly. my knowledge of jungian psychology doesn't go further than youtube vids I watch half-baked while I do chores, but I've watched/listened to a lot of them. I feel like I've never really truly understood shadow integration until now... I'm going to have to re-watch this and take notes so I have a succinct explanation to refer back to because this is very insightful stuff. Probably one of Jung's most important insights next to the archetypes. Thank you very much! I feel like something just clicked into place in my brain.
@itszoewinter

This means so much to me, thank you☺️ I really hope you can find value in it, and I appreciate your kind words! I also find it confusing but equally intriguing how intangible the idea of shadow integration is, but real examples and stories definitely help! I’m not sure what other videos you watch but I’ve seen Robert Greene & Jordan Peterson give many great examples of shadow integration✨ And archetypes are such a great tool for shadow work, I’ve been thinking of doing a video on this as well if there’s interest~
@salmonsandwich3183
@salmonsandwich3183 3 месяца назад
@@itszoewinter I would definitely watch an archetypes video! I've seen the Jordan Peterson videos, but not Robert Greene ("48 Laws of Power" Robert Greene?? Didn't know he was a youtuber and/or lecturer. Only seen his interviews to promote his books). Another one I really like is Academy of Ideas. I think what separates this video from all the rest is you have a very Hemingway-esque economical way with words with no academic jargon to distract my adhd brain. I'm also a misanthropic objectivist asshole who really likes my alone time playing piano and reading books, so my persona when I'm around others is probably not too far off from who I really am so maybe I've always integrated my shadow and just wasn't aware until it was spoken simply by somebody else. Anyways, I definitely got a lot of value out this, and can't wait to watch more of your insightful videos!
@itszoewinter
@itszoewinter 3 месяца назад
I will check out academy of ideas, thank you for the recommendation! And yes that robert Greene, I’ve seen occasional videos of his where he talks about this in conversation. Staying in, reading, and playing the piano sounds quite nice, I’ve always admired people who can play! You’re very kind, thank you☺️✨ Also, and I hope I’m not rambling, but Jung also talks about how there is no right or better line of psychology, they each exist because they resonate with different people, and it’s a big reason why he created the early mbti system so that he could find the best approach to treat his patients- jungian psychology (while everyone benefits from it) is very focused on interpreting troubles within the mind, Adlerian psychology on the other hand is perfect for “repressed and socially unsuccessful people whose passion is self-assertion” and “put the goal they most desire quite out of reach”, which sounds like it might be interesting for you! I don’t say this in a mean way, in fact, I relate all too much..Personally, I love adler’s ideas and although often in opposition to Jung (mainly bc Adler is an existentialist-born as a blank slate- and Jung an essentialist- born with whole personality) his line of thought is super simple & powerful! Adler helps “the patient who has learned to see into himself to find the way to normal life” and believes social adaptation is the most fulfilling goal for a human being ~ One of my fav books is “the courage to be disliked” which explains a lot of its concepts in a conversation between a philosopher & youth💭 anyways, feel free to ignore this just thought it might be interesting for you☺️

Dick all used, leading me down a rabbit hole of chemistry, psychology, and neurology, so any info on those subjects forwarded to me is welcomed and will be looked into! i appreciate this video popping up on my feed. you did a great job in explaining these not commonly known /understood parts of our subconscious self. thank you. i understand this video may be primarily about the 'self' but i've always believed that this conversation (with one's self) cannot be wholly comprehended and/or well developed without taking external forces (beyond our 'self') into account. it is one reason religion is such a popular phenomenon among us humans. we are not in this world alone, and others affect how we grow up and how we develop our 'self' throughout our lifespan, before we became enlightened to this level of thinking.
@itszoewinter
@itszoewinter 3 месяца назад
Thank you for your kind words and sharing your insightful perspective! It's fascinating how external influences shape our Selves, and your mention of religion highlights the complexity of this relationship. I'm curious, to what extent can others affect the Self and can these external influences help us towards our unique potential? I'm aware that Jung was an essentialist, but don't know much about his views on this-- although when reading about our Inner Law it reminded me very much of God and religion!
@karlispec5
@karlispec5 3 месяца назад
@@itszoewinter Hi! i'm happy to hear that you understand my perspective here. the pervasiveness of external influences can sometimes be fascinating at best and annoying at worst. the presence of religion is unavoidable, it's our best answer yet to our universal questions about life on earth. in my own personal experiences, and from observation of others (whether on the www or in the real world), or actively listening with interest to the experiences shared by others, i find that the "extent" of helpfulness from external influences is subjective to the individual. what is more significant is how much it contributes to further development of the better self of that individual. that development should be identifiable if not visible. i appreciate the study of the philosophers, and those who follow them. to me, even when they dont mention "god" the influence of whatever mysterious universal creator from whose 'behest' we are all gathered here, is evident in their academic thought process and search to understand our inner selves first. i hope you're feeling well today despite whatever is happening in and around your environment. thank you for enlightening others and i hope the radiant love of our universal creator continues to shine from within you and that you can continue to share it with the rest of us in the world (wide web:) be well.

@itszoewinter
@itszoewinter 3 месяца назад
I’m sorry you feel this way, may I ask what your dream was that you’ve pursued? If you feel lost like this, Jung has a wonderful concept of your “inner law” (I talk about this in my video about unique potential!) which is your inherent guiding force towards your highest potential in life. This is also the vision that would bring you the most fulfillment and help your realize your Self✨ And you can tune into your inner law and find direction by noticing your inner feelings & reactions to life- your anger, resentment, jealousy, excitement, these are all like nudges if you know what to do with them! Eg, next time you feel envious of something, stop and listen, what exactly is it you want? And why do you not pursue it? If you can figure this out, and take a step in this direction, then it will lead you towards your “dream life”😊 I hope this helps, but pls let me know if not! I think this is such a great question and something a lot of people will relate to, so thank you~

At least everything is on the left side in the domain of Fate except a Pieces Moon in the 5th house... i do whatever I want whenever I wish .... Freewill = Zero Excuses
