Pastor Mark, been following you for just under a year now. You helped bring my faith back. Now, I could really use some help from the community. I've been going through some heavy stuff the last several years. I've lost 4 close friends in 3 years due to addiction. Last night, the woman I was planning on proposing to broke up with me. I know the Lord will help me find my way, however currently I could use some support
Been there. Don't let your heart get cold. Breakup songs are validating and cathartic, and comment sections can keep your mind occupied, but we can't help in a meaningful way. If you have friends IRL please ask for their company and let them help. If you don't have friends IRL join a church and a small group and start making some. You need real human contact, and we can't give you that
@@bufficliff8978 a coworker has stopped by the last couple days. I signed up for online counseling to help get my mind right. I babysat for my sister for the first time yesterday. It's the idle time that is driving me nuts
First I thought, a pastor who cussed?!?!?! But then I thought, maybe that was just a one time thing ... But then the very first 2 minutes he tells his congregation he drinks whiskey.... Then hints to them to tell them to do the same. This is so sad that people are out here leading people in the wrong way. 1 Timothy 3 clearly speaks against this.
Falling short is not the same as leading the wrong way. Watching Mike Winger's video on alcohol might help you understand the Biblical boundaries of alcohol and the difference between drinking and drunkenness. I haven't gotten to the cursing yet. It's best to keep our vocabulary clean, and it's good to state concerns, but a profanity while preaching truth is better than preaching falsehoods and sugar with clean vocabulary. It's right to always aim toward righteousness, but he's not leading people in a wrong direction. Your knowledge that he's a sinner will be beneficial you, that you don't put him on a pedestal, but a pastor who is a sinner can still be a good pastor.
You are aware that in 1 Timothy Paul instructs Timothy to drink wine, right? 😂 I swear, people will find anything to tear down pastors that speak truth that they don’t like.
Bridget, he's a godly man. He's not watered-down. He speaks God's word in truth... in righteous anger, not sugar-coated and watered-down. He doesn't cuss. He's straightforward. He calls it as it is. He's not an Ahab. He's not a drunk. Jesus turned water into wine. Our world, culture, society would not be in the moral decline, sin, and lost IF there were more pastors like him., especially starting 70 years ago. He is needed in this day and time more than ever.
