It wasn't easy for sure. Had Mike played Rb8 at 4:13, Anna would've been annihilated. Capturing the rook is countered by Qxb8#, anything else is met with Qxf8#. The only real way to do anything about it is to move h-pawn 1 or 2 squares forward, but after Qxf8+ black is down a rook and white's attack is basically unstoppable with a checkmate coming in just a few moves.

Yep, he played B1 to defend when he should have went full throttle offensive with B8. Checkmate on next turn if nothing is played. I love how annoying he gets, but that's only psychological warfare. It's still all fun and games in the end even when he lost. Good sportsmanship!

That was really fun. Chess hustler against a FIDE master. And both are having fun - really nice.

I'm no chess player but all the sledging and trash talking in this is so warm and lovely, and everyone is having a blast. So much genuine affection and respect for each other. This video had me smiling from beginning to end. Thank you.

I tried learning chess but never once won a single match. I was able to see when the match was going to end when it was too late. The same happened when Mike did his last few moves. These two make moves so fast, I had no idea what was going on.

At 2:48 if you sacrifice your queen by putting it on b8, you can win against a beginner! Because if rook takes queen, then rook takes rook, and then when bishop or rook or both bishop and rook get brought down to defend the king, you capture them both and it's a checkmate!
