Horrorscope is the one easiest my Favorite Overkill Album that i loved since i heard Coma and Horrorscope tracks on the album. i will never Forgot this Overkill Album!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I'm 41. Overkill are the live band that made me "retire" from moshing! I litterally broke my thumb OFF from the side of my hand in the pit at Bogart's in Cincinnatti. I had to have a cast from my thumb up past my elbow! (got it in Overkill Green, of course). I should have listened to the advice in Exodus's Toxic Waltz: "Too much action may leave you in traction so you better get insurance no matter your endurance!" God, I miss metal shows!
THE MOST UNDERRATED BAND OF ALL TIME - and i saw them live and bobby blitz jumped of the stage and crowd surfed who does that anymore FUCKING LEGEND!!!!
You got it right pal. But lets not forget DD Verni's contribution to the band's sound and feel. Sometimes I feel like he's the driving force behind Overkill's dynamic.
Robert, I 'm 47 years old too, (january 1st, 1965) and i think like you... i have all cd's of overkill, most them i import hear in Brazil... and i spend a lot of money in the past when i did this... Overkill is my preferred thrash metal band! i saw them two times in P.Alegre city (look videos: Neryjr65) Overkill is tha thrash metal band most workaholic, they have the best (relation) number of CD released (X) years since the first!!! (sorry the poor english... it's not my mother language...)
I was actually planning a welcome video for my Myspace page back when it was very popular (then the layout pages were deleted..) with a video where I was talking about my interest in music, I would play Overkill II in the background, and speak. It was the soundtrack of my nightmare back in the day. Specifically, I was listening to it on a dark car trip back from a very strange mountain hike.
I bummed a cigarette from Blitz in Cincinnatti! I paid him back after I went across the street to get some more smokes. He dropped it in a puddle of rainwater and actually picked it back up, tucked it behind his ear, and went on about his business!!
Paths crossed with the amazing Bobby "BLITZ" Ellsworth a few times while he was in Ithaca, or "Pathetica" as they lovingly called it, many years ago. Fun times we had...... Love ya Bobby!
The main riff in the beginning after the bass intro must be one of the coolest riffs in metal history...I can also think of other powerful riffs like Keep it in the family (Anthrax), Sad but true (Metallica), Immortal sin (Fight), Hell awaits (Slayer)
God, I still remember he first time I heard this song, right after it was released. It's nice to kno that these guys are still influencing bands today. Any fan of Overkill from the Horrorscope era should check out the band Dir en grey: last Novenber's CD "Uroboros" is the reawakening of the titan called METAL!
overkill I so goup up too and Horrorscope damn killer song and the album is badass thanks guys for all the years of killer metal hell yeah love metal music all of it.
I think that overkill, exodus and metal church are by far the most underrated band. I think that the big four should induct every year when then go one tour. Sounds corny but that would be cool to induct thrash bands every year.
WHY THE FUCK HAVE I NEVER HEARD THESE GUYS BEFORE! I just started watching metal mania on VH1 classic, fast forward through all the sappy romance crap, and was GRACED to hear In Union We Stand, which i think is one of the best metal songs i have ever heard. Just after hearing that one song, i think i'll be a fan for life now.
i have have old vhs of overkill and there basist looks just like sylvester stallone when he was in night hawks!! fucking sick ass band! i love this song
since i own Overkill Videoscope and Wrecking Everything. also i want to get lIve Oberhausen well it got Horrorscope and Feel the Fire in it so i cannot wait to own it.
True enough, I can't believe I never even heard of them until 2 days ago when a buddy linked this video to my facebook. Metal is such a MASSIVE genre of music I can only imagine there are hundreds of good metal band out there I have yet to discover.
"500 thrash and death metal Riffs" ALL uploaded now. 41 parts. 6 1/2 hours of Riffs! Keeping Thrash Metal Alive.....Lots of Overkill Riffs. Check out parts 2,5,6,9,15,18,23,24,32,34,36,41(last part) Always awesomely HEAVY!
@tenochcasiempre These guys are great!!! and their new new album Ironbound is awesome \m/_\m/. I'm 40 and still listening to my roots and it all started with KISS back in '76 Rock n Roll Over.
OVERKILL's scariest song hands down. This is the one that shows the side of D.D. Verni he would do with his side project as a Gothic Metal band. Overkill experimenting with Gothic Metal with their lyrics on this one.
