I'm not a fan of Scorpions, but I've never disrespected them, due to what they have done to Rock, Hard Rock and Metal music. Hats off to Scorpions, my idol (and yours too) Lemmy Kilmister would fucking appreciate this Overkill version, because he knows, Scorpions knows and everybody knows that they did it in a sincere way.
At least in the toop two.when it comes to rockn roll. Mikkey deserves some sort of musical prize from his home country., But people are like flies; 100 000 000 can't be wrong by likikng Hakan Hellstrom over Mikkey.......
Well - there was a difference between Philthy and Mikky Dee; Philthy played extremely talented , while Mikky in my opinion is a pure Heavy metal drummer though a good one. Pgilthy used his hi-hat extremly quick and tasteful while Mikkey has that typical heavy metal beat. From Mikkys debutalbum March or die sounded nothing special, but That Sacrifice album and that song ,which is my definately favorite Motorhead song, started to sound real serious !
@@delaBoujardiere bastards is the album I think of as mikkey dee’s true debut album. And sacrifice as a whole is possibly Motörhead’s strongest album of the 22 studio albums they released. But with that said, personally, I’m a fan of all of it. Whether we are talking about a track like Keep us on the road or I won’t pay your price or even smiling like a killer. It’s all badass.
@@Burgher1605 You're wrong there ; March or die (1992), Bastards (1993). For some reason, "i am the sword" became my favorite track from the Bastards album. No solo but pure rythm sections as solos! That song really kicks! Why I think - it has some elements like a song I made back in my youth during late 70's. :-) Personally, I think the last good Motorhead album was Inferno. My son bought "kiss of death". I listened to it some months ago several times, but the fact that it disappointed me. It had nothing. That said, I lost interest in Metal / rock many years ago. You come up to a certain point when you're adult (im 59 now) when Rock has nothing more to offer you and the texts just sound ridiculous.
@@delaBoujardiere I understand march or die was before bastards but that album had like 3-4 drummers on it, including mikkey dee. So yeah it could be considered his debut but Bastards was his true debut since he was a full time member by then. I am the sword is a great track, I especially love the lyrics. Death or glory is another.
So glad Mickey found life after MOTORHEAD....Lemmy had to have been looking down from heaven and smiling at this awesome tribute.....God bless Klaus and the Boys.
I had to wipe away tears at the raw emotion of Mikkey bursting into Overkill once again. Mikkey is just the Motor the Scorpions needed. This is an excellent tribute as his new bandmates tip their hats to his late bandmate, the late, great Lemmy.
Mikkey Dee is always NAILS and it is really cool to see Scorpions do a tribute like this for Lemmy. They look like they're having an absolute blast. They're sincere and that's always cool. Respect.
I know Mikkey Dee. Amazing drummer and excellent person. A drummer with a great adrenaline and incredible extamine. Within his style he created a great musical formula in the band.
Absolutely Matteo Mikkey Dee is Mikkey Dee. He is my friend 2018' and today. Humble person and excellent Drummer. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E3oJ83CabAU.html
Never in a million years did I think I’d see Scorpions doing a Motörhead cover and they did it so well. Also wonderful to see a Mikkey Dee drum solo again. He is the best drummer in the world.
Lemmy as everyone should know was in Hawkwind,in 1977 I went to see Hawkwind at Bradford's St Georges Hall and Motorhead was the support,Bob Calvert was the vocalist/singer/poet in Hawkwind at that time and that was without doubt the best gig I've ever been to.👍
hes lucky to be part of the scorpions! he needs the scorpions more than the scorpions need him, scorpions can put a shit drummer on and still sell out any concert everywhere in the world!
With all due respect, kottak was on another level... singing and playing at the same time is not for everyone, beyond the stick movements and interaction with the public...
Hearing the first 30 seconds of the intro to Overkill literally ran a cold chill through my veins and had my hair standing up. Bloody hell! Miss you Lem! RIP. How to make a tatted, rough 57 year old man tear up??? This!
So nice to see Mikkey do again what he is best at. Smash the shit out of his drums playing Overkill. Skorpions might not be his natural habitat but the legend of Motorhead lives on. Big cheers to the best band in the world, Motorhead. Good take Skorpions. Missing you Lemmy big time...
I know Mikkey Dee. Amazing drummer and excellent person. A drummer with a great adrenaline and incredible extamine. Within his style he created a great musical formula in the band.
Was at the mighty mighty bosstones hometown throwdown in boston when news was announced onstage-fan in motorhead brought onstage to dance with the BTS pro performer-rest of the night was hard to focus on the music-lucky enough to drink with him a few times always entertaining and gruff to the point
I used Paiste cymbals on my ten piece Pearl kit double bass kicker with twelve cymbals and they sound great at a very good price!...mikee Dee is the master of double kicker's
everytime i see a video of a rock concert in South America i think man they love to rock and they an d they all stand. NA concerts have very tight security,
Great tribute! I love the sheer raw energy and aggression of Oi ( street punk and skin ) but, I have to say that, Mickey Dee is probably the best drummer ever and I just love Motorhead! Saying that, I lent out my "The World is Not Enough!" Motorhead's live DVD a few years ago to a punk who I regarded as a mate. It was never returned! Bloody punks! Don't you just hate 'em?
Haha yeah right ! Listen to a song like virgin killer and tell me that guy can’t sing or SCREAM ... he is one of the greatest ever. Not gargling glass w whisky like lemmy but he’s a legend.
