Our friend and respected firefighter, Cole Wilson, has built an overland inspired prerunner! We're very stoked that we were able to come across Cole's 1st gen Toyota Tundra because it definitely is a unique and diverse build. It's the best of 2 worlds, to say the least. Thanks to Cole for giving us a walk around of his build.

Gen 1 tundra is one of the most underrated trucks rn. Good value, bulletproof, most got a frame replacement in 2013, the 4.7 v8 runs forever

Love these 1st gen tundras. Mine has a truck topper that I built a bed/storage platform for in the bed for camping. Makes for zero setup/teardown besides putting the chairs away.

This is so dope. I have the same truck but a 4x4. Am gonna build a cage in the bed and put the rooftop tent up top so I have full bed access. Then have a tonneau cover with racks on top and two kayaks resting on the racks on top of the tonneau. I have Bilstein 5100 shocks and 34 in A/Ts.

As much as I would've liked to see a more powerful motor, those 2UZ's are plenty powerful for his setup and extremely reliable. I wish I had this suspension setup for mine!

The 2005 has 285hp and 315 ft lbs of torque. It's the one to have. Before and after 2005 they only had 245hp. Toyota detuned it to get people to buy the 5.7 that was coming out soon thereafter. The 2005 is very peppy! And then it can be charged and tuned

Wilson I had an 06 xsp and it’s rated lower due to SAE standards changing around that time. It’s the same engine as the 05 trust me.
