Just purchased the nomadic 3 with annex and the 270 awning for my gladiator. Your reviews had a lot to do with my decision to go with OVS. That and price. Really pleased with them

Great review. I am on the hunt for a family tent. We have a trip booked for the Rubicon trail. I am struggling to decide between the Gazelle T8, a classic Springbar Family Camper, or a RTT. I have a wife and 4 kids, so my ground tent needs to be big. I really want a RTT, but worry about the weight up high on a trail. Do you ever feel disadvantaged or uncomfortable with the weight of the RTT while on trail? Of course, the Jeep is full, so most has to be racked anyway. I calc the weight savings to be about 80 lbs.
Thank you for the compliment! We would love to do the Rubicon some day. As far as sway with our RTT, we don't feel that much on the trail unless we have the sway bar disconnected. And then, it is only minimal. OVS has a RTT that is the size of a king size bed (Nomadic 4) and an annex for it. That would probably give you enough room for your family. You can't go wrong with Gazelle either... I can't offer an opinion on the Spring bar camper as I have not used one. Sounds like you are doing your homework, hope this helps.
Does the tent or the awning utilize the slats on the nebo rack? Did you buy the 6pcs. Slat set or a few individual slats? Once again THANK YOU for all the information and help.
Great review sir! One of the only reviews here on YT. I am looking at buying this tent and had a few questions. Is the tent cover secured by velcro or by a zipper? Also what is the height of the tent when it is folded up and on the rack?
The cover is 2 inch Velcro. It works very well. I will get that measurment for you and get back with you. If you do decide to go with OVS, im sure you won't be disappointed!
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, the tent folded and ready from travel is 14" above my roof rack. This is measured at the highest point (the ladder). I hope this helps and if you do decide to purchase one, please mention us when you order.
What mounting system are you using for the tent? I see some bars but couldn’t make out what type they were. Looks like they are permanently mounted to the hardtop.

Thank you your interest! We use the Nomadic 3 RTT and the Nomadic 270 awning from Overland Vehicle Systems and are very pleased with them. The rack theater use is the Teraflex Nebo. We have done reviews on all of these products and you can find them on our channel. Hope this helps!
@@CoddiwompleOverland The tent. Being white is one of the things that came to mind, that it might reflect heat nicely, but at the same time not block light, hence not good if you don’t wanna wake up early. I’m debating whether to go for the standard or the Artic version based on that.
OK got ya! The white does not block a lot of light but the light coming in is in no way blinking. We get up early so light wasn't really a factor for us. As far as reflecting heat, I think it does help with that. Let them know you seen it on our page!
