Clear Lake and Bandora Mine: From my camp at Bandora Mine on South Mineral Creek Road, I drove the 3-miles back to the turn-off for the Clear Lake Trail and then it was a relatively easy 4.5-mile drive to Clear Lake at 11,950-feet. The trail was rough and steep in places and the trail wound up the mountain, on a narrow shelf road, but it was an easy drive with several very scenic views of the mountain valleys. And, the lake was beautiful, surrounded by the mountains in the background. While the trail was a beautiful drive, the best thing for me was the lack of traffic. After battling the crowds on the more popular Silverton trails, it was a pleasure.
