So refreshing to see people off roading who love and appreciate the little things in nature, respect private property and cemeterys and even pick up litter along the way! Wow! Love it! Subscribed!!!
I can't wait to take the family to Nemo tunnel. Thanks much for all the videos y'all do. Just getting into Overlanding and I think we are going to love it.
I was just planning a trip to Nemo Tunnel and was watching your videos this week about the Kentucky Adventure Trail as I wanted to hit that along the way. Your videos are great to watch, but also great for planning a trip. Ironically, I was looking for a video like one of yours for Nemo Tunnel when, surprise! You released your Nemo Tunnel video while I was looking! Thank you for such great content!
Some beautiful country over in that part of TN.........3.25K subs! Not too long ago you where thrilled to have 250 subs! You're doing a great job with the channel.
Thank you Mark! Yes we can't believe how the channel is growing. We are so amazed and thankful!! It really is beautiful down that way. Thanks for watching and the comment my friend
Superb video, I like how you weave in enough info that the viewer can assess the difficulty level, thanks, I was looking for something close Knoxville I could do solo.
@@CoddiwompleOverland I didn’t remember seeing drone footage before. It really added to the video. The filming you all do is great stuff. It’s amazing with today’s technology what quality product people can produce. Once again I’m jealous, north Missouri has nothing like your area.
This was our first trip with the drone. We definitely have some learning to do. Thank you for the awesome compliment! Don't you have the Ozarks or Mark Twain pretty close to you?
@@CoddiwompleOverland I'm less then an hour from the Iowa state line. This part of Missouri is basically flat with thousands of acres of corn, soybeans and cattle on fescue. Everything is on mile square grids with gravel roads, very few dirt roads even around here. The Ozarks are a few hours south. I used to live down there and even there there's not many trails like you all run. I get my off road fix watching you folks and a few other off-roading channels.
@@CoddiwompleOverland When we did our video from there it was at night I need to go back during the daytime and redo the video for the channel at night.
Good video, I have never been to or heard of the Nem Tunnel. I really would like to do some more of this overlanding stuff. I have only done it three times out in and around Canyonlands National Park.
I did the Nemo Tunnel at night, by myself in my Rubicon Gladiator. I was on my way to the Kentucky Jeep Jamboree so I made camp just near the tunnel exit which was pretty amazing. The tunnel is definitely intimidating by your self at night.
Great video Love the places you go in the south east, Going to try and talk my wife into going with me I’ll let her watch your videos and maybe she will want to go, keep them coming
Would love to have a full mapped out course for this trek. Me and friends are wanting to do it as a couples weekend. That river crossing was a little sketchy though….
Great video and I actually live near the road with the views in part 2. Curious though, in this video can you tell where, or what the coordinates are where the bridge was out, you had to cross the river? I have been exploring TN more. Thanks!
Thank you. It depends, normally we run 4wd if it is soft and there is a possibility of tearing up the trail in 2wd or if its a trail the we are running less than 5-7 mph we will do in 4lo. We go to 4lo in these cases to keep from heating the transmission fluid up with torque converter slip. Other than that, its only when needed. Hope this helps.
@@CoddiwompleOverland If you ever do hit me up, I can show you a few cool places. Still learning where i can go and needing some upgrades on the jeep to explore further deeper. Bigger tires for a start, I am over the nice show room ones. LOL
@@CoddiwompleOverland Thanks! I have a group in Illinois I started and we have 2,500 members...but Illinois has no offroading anywhere really so a few of us were wanting to do a nice overland in TN or KY. I enjoy your videos!
Yea we have sure missed Kelly on our last few trips. Hopefully he will be back with us soon, and not just to be the guinea pig! That river was a lot of fun, but too cold to swim
What do you use for your windshield camera mount? Also what are the specs on your rig? (i.e. lift, tire size, fenders, tent, rack, etc) Thanks in advance, I'm looking to set mine up similar to this....looks like you have the best of both worlds on/off road. Mine is a daily driver so I'm being cautious as to how I build it out. Again, many thanks...enjoy your videos! Keep em' coming!
We have a Vector off road dash bar. The GoPro is mounted to it with a motor handlebar mount from Amazon. As far as the jeep goes, it is on a Clayton Off road 3.5 Overland plus lift, 37" Cooper STT Pros, EAG fenders, OVS Nomadic 3 RTT, OVS 270 awning, Teraflex Nebo roof rack DV8 bumpers, Smittybilt 10,000 winch.
Hello! I came across your channel a few weeks ago and have since subscribed. I really enjoy it. I have a question for you. I'm swapping out my front axle like you did. I'm wondering what gear ratio you're running. Let me know when you can and thanks ahead of time. One more thing, I'd like to join one of your trips. Have you ever considered letting a stranger join up for a trek? Thanks.
We are glad you found us and really glad you enjoy the channel. We are running 5.13 years. We have our schedule in a post on our FB page. Check it out and let us know. We would welcome byou rightbalong with us!
New sub here. I found your channel yesterday, and me and the wife watched the entire 2 hour Smoky Mountain 1000 video in one sitting. I believe I want to be a Jeep owner again and experience this. What app are you using on your tablet to GPS the trail? Thanks in advance! Looking forward to more videos!
Do you have a gpx file of the route? Would like to check out the bridge, tunnel, and go out the way beside the rocks (around 9:35 in the video) on the way out. Curious of how long of a ride it would be too. Thanks!
The coordinates for the tunnel is 36° 3.9998' N 84° 39.1197' W. once you go through the tunnel turn left and the trail will take you right back by the cliffs along the river. THe bridge is just past where you turn off to the tunnel. The tunnel loop is about a mile long.
There was a truck hit by a train that got stuck on the tracks. If you fast forward the link I posted above you will see the truck get hit. Also there has been a lot of people leaving trash everywhere. So they closed the area. Hope they reopen even if it was on a permit based.
@@CoddiwompleOverland good to know. The video is good btw just seemed that you camped in back country. I thought maybe you k we something I didnt lol. Btw we basically have identical jeep set up. Jku 35s with 3.5 lift
@@jamesmyers9150 thanks for the compliment and for watching. You can disperse camp in the Upper Cumberland WMA which was where we were planning on going until we found the closed bridge.
I travel all those wma and have for years. I run a few different offroad routes from nemo (wartburg) all the way up past Manchester ky. Very little pavement and dispersed camping most of the way. I havent done much in catoosa yet but probably get down there this summer. Thanks for the video
Different places. Sometimes we find routes like the KAT or the SM1000. You can find the gpx files on their FB pages. You can also files gpx files on the website or app called All Trails. The other way is if you are going to a national forest, look at the MVUM maps. I hope this helps!
