Panzer Dragoon Saga is the greatest game ever made. The art direction is off the charts, and the soundtrack is phenomenal. I am so grateful to Sega for having the balls to green light this absolute masterpiece, which, to this day, has no equal. Not even close.

Maybe I'm just dumb, but, having had the privilege of playing plenty of fantastic Sega titles, back in the days (i can close my eyes now, and imagine I'm playing games like Kid Chameleon...... Quackshot...... Fantasia..Blaster Master.... Thunderforce 3... streets of rage....etc etc, and immediately, it's 'tears time' ), *am i the only one*, to dream/hope that one day, Sega will announce that they are making a new console, with a custom cpu/gpu, with over 100 new titles available at launch ... What a pleasure, to reada game review in our favorite gaming magazine... buying the game, quickly going home, and bam-> start playing the game ! Games made in a time with no $/€/£ 20 microtransactions.... no day-1 gigantic patches.... no game boxes with a single download serial number....a time where making 500 millions in just 48 hours wasn't considered a flop, because shareholders and blackrock/vanguard weren't swallowing +90% of the sales profits.... A time where most games had a '2 players' option. A time where games were made around fun, joy, friendship, happiness, instead of being made around monetization, microtransactions, player engagement , or always online GaaS crap... A time when games didn't force 99.99% of the fans to play as some lgbtqabcde+phoq+u character... Who would love to see a new Sega console being made ? :)
I love the Saturn, and set it up earlier to play vampire saviour after your Morrigan cos-play video inspired me 😅 While the 3D games were more popular in the west, its the library of 2D fighting games and platformers released only in Japan that make this thing the best 2D console of the 32bit era! Unless you can afford a neo-geo I suppose 😐
I was hooked on Arcade Games at this time, Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast ruled in quality Arcade ports rather than quantative pirts on PS1. I owned them all, except Neo Geo. Ya, that 3DO and tower of power shit was creatively neat.
I think focusing on the 2D side of things was a big mistake because I remember everyone though 2D was lame in the 90s and 00s, it was all about better 3D graphics. However now we've hit the point of diminishing returns and 3D has become boring, even Ray Tracing is boring, no one cares. So 2D games made a real come back the past 10 or so years and the rise of indie..... But in the 90s I wouldn't even want to look at a 2D in a magazine.
As a kid, I had very limited opportunity to play Saturn, but it left me wanting for more. Year ago, I got my hands on broken unit that I managed to fix and mod.. and it's now my go to machine to play games on. Poor ps5 has turned into a dust collector as ps1 and Saturn Get the most action in this household these days

I never owned console until PS4 came out. I played on PlayStation 1 at my homies for years before that. But I feel strong gravity pull towards old consoles. I can't really resist them old gens, just like I wouldn't resist Lady Decade sitting next to me hihi

I wish they used the travelers tales bonus stage stage engine instead of relying on nights into dream engine. Sonic adventure was next sonic project for the saturn before moving over to the dreamcast.
I actually think it's a good thing Sonic Xtreme didn't come out. It would've met the same fate as Bubsy 3D and Earthworm Jim, where both of those franchises were killed by their 3D entries.
Imo, Gen 4 was a testing phase, and I am uncertain if the devs were ready for that jump. The majority of Gen 4 games need remasters for modern era, while games from Gen 3 for example are still utilized as inspiration (Retro). Perhaps this is why Gen 5 was arguably the best Gen, due to the testing/trial & error of Gen 4. Saturn was a prime example........Now ppl are talking about how powerful it was, or untapped potential
I would love if Sega made a system that is able to play all the cd and digital images of the master and genesis systems with modern capabilities and a dev kit I would love to play the Saturn games I never knew existed or were locked to Japan only like most of the capcom games. Personally I think the Saturn was the better system but it was way too late for Sega at that point. I wish Sega would have backed the Saturn like they did with the genesis. Man it would be a dream come true to make games for a Sega system.
@@Sonicfan721 they have aged horribly graphically.. there are always exceptions but most of them look horrible, and that goes for the PS1 games also. The older and 2D games and somewhat 3D have aged quite nicely. I just can't get used to that generation of 3D games. The older 2D games on all systems aged great.

Sony, in my opinion, positioned themself as the adult orientated console with the playstation 1. Now they have moved into woke culture with the PS5 and their latest state of play show. The woke culture will be their demise. I'm a girl and I don't mind seeing a strong male character with a weaker female - afterall, it reflects life. If my husband was weak and timid, I would respect him far less.
