So sorry to hear your boy Harley has passed :( xx sending so much love x Lovely video the tent looks so cosy :) xx Enjoy your back packing trip - so incredible to be able to do that with your grandbabies xx
So sorry for your loss of Harley. 14 years 8 months is a miracle for a lab that size. He was a beautiful dog. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure.
Heartfelt condolences for your loss of Harley. Labs are just the best. I'm sure he'll never be far in memories and heart. Great addition to the tent and as always another perfect dinner. Thanks for sharing.
So sorry about Harley, Wendy; your sweet boy will have had a wonderful life with you and it is totally understandable that your heart is aching. Sending kind wishes for you all that the sadness fades soon. Having a night in such a pretty spot, and in your new nest will have been a great help-thanks for taking us along!
So sorry for your per loss. It certainly does take a while to get over them when they leave us. I'm so inspired by your adventures. Would it be too rude to ask your age? I'm closing in on 70 and hope to be solo camping for a long time.

Wendy u live in a stunning Country, and close to home. My deepest condolences for u and family, I also just lost my Chihuahua ( Idgy) last week, we had 17yrs of total love and adventure, but I feel completely empty, she was my best Friend. Look forward to seeing your next vlog. Thanks for sharing 🇦🇺🐕
I'm so sorry Wendy. It's so hard letting our sweet dogs go when the time comes. So glad you found some comfort and peace doing what you love. Stay well.
SO SORRY ABOUT HARLEY!!!!!!! IT IS EXTREMLY DIFFICULT LOSING OUR LOVEING PET/FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS A BEAUITFUL SPOT TO CAMP!!!!!!!! Do take care. Fl., USA
" It takes awhile" Indeed it does Wendy, 21 years ago my old Lab/Collie Cross left me and I still miss him. But I remember the happy times and in the quiet wild places still feel he is close.
Sorry for your loss Wendy. Those special pets leave paw prints on our hearts for a long time to come. Great idea to get out and enjoy natures remedies. Camp on my friend!
Oh Wendy I’m so sorry to hear about your sweet Harley! We lost three of our senior furbabies last year and it was rough. 😢 I hope you enjoyed your beautiful outdoor adventure. There is something so healing about being in nature. ❤
Wendy, I’m so sorry for you loss. Nature is always helpful in helping us through tough things. Sorry I’m behind on video watching. I’m still here and still inspired by you, life just has a way of happening and I can’t always keep up. I hope you enjoy your upcoming trips. I’ll be looking forward to watching the videos.
Sorry for your loss. Thank you for showing us the tent, I really like that set up! The older I get, the less I like crawling in and out of a standard tent. This one seems to give more room to where I wouldn't have to crawl around on hand and knees so much. 😅
Yes , I agree- I have only had a 2 person tent for so many years I forgot how wonderful it was to have more space. Especially good on the cold wet days- thank you
Wendy, I am sending you my sincere condolences. I had a chocolate lab that was the most wonderful dog and I lost him 2 years ago. I understand your pain. You are so wise to get out and do what you love to help you. I love your tent and am looking forward to seeing your summer adventures. I just had my first camping trip of the season and am hoping to get out for a backpacking weekend soon. Safe travels! ❤️
Sorry for your loss Wendy. And thanks a bunch for your inspiring videos. It's very therapeutic watching your videos. Love the scenery, and super educational for us who loves outdoor and nature. And also, your beautiful soul.. Stay healthy, stay happy and stay inspiring Ma'am. Excited for your next video about your backpacking..
I am so sorry about your sweet dog. Being out in Nature gives us the space to remember and work on our grief. I have found it very helpful too. Safe travels on your trips. Your videos are so inspiring.
So terribly sorry to hear of your loss. I enjoyed seeing Harley at your tiny cabin, and being a dog person, I understand the sadness. I'm glad you got out to test your "new" tent and let Mother Nature ease your heart. Looking forward to your next adventure! Be well, Wendy.
Thanks so much Wendy for spending time with us again. I haven't owned a new tent for many years. With a nice air mattress, I could probably like it again. We'll see. I had a big black lab many years ago until he was old. And 17 days ago Pork Chop passes away. She was also 14 1/2 years old. A Boston bulldog/ Boxer. So I know the loss. I can relate to most of what you do in your videos. So thanks. See you next time from Central Oklahoma
thank you Janet- I feel for your loss as well. They sure do take over the heart. They give us so very much. The newer camping gear is often much improved from the past. I have upgraded some gear and am very impressed. The sleeping mat is actually insulated and really does work- no cold spots even around freezing. Amazing.
I watch a camper (Outdoor Boys channel) who doesn’t even blow into his inflater bag - he just waves it in the air a little, and it seems to do the trick! 😊
Sincerest Sympathy on the loss of Harley….i lost my Milo after 15 years, 1 month & 16 days, so I know that bullet 😢. 7 months later I rescused a 10 year old terrier mix that lost her people and it has been great for both of us. Lifting you in prayer 🙏🏻 I would love to know your hiking wear as well, if you could include that in your gear vid
The tent looks great. I strongly dislike ours but it’s brand new so I can’t justify replacing it. Our next trip will be in a private campground. Pricier and with people but lots of amenities.
It is all good- thanks Marilyn . I really like this little set up. Haven't had a bigger tent in about 50 years. always the 2 person back pack tent- this one seems like a palace although it is not actually that big- Enjoy your trip
Thank you for showing us that Nest tent! I have a question for you - I really like that blue light-weight looking pullover hoodie you are wearing in this and other videos. I've been looking for ones that have a bit of neck coverage when the hood is up and the one you're wearing looks like it would fit the bill. Can you tell me what brand it is and where you purchased it?
@DocScience2 0 seconds ago I find it amazing that you reply on your comments. If you don't mind doing so, please tell us in your descriptions, the location of your videos. I think many of us want to know. Thankyou for posting.
So sorry to hear about Harley. My wonderful Father passed away June 22 aged 84 and like me, he adored the outdoor life and everything in nature. I am not sleeping well but enjoying your videos and going with the flow. Be gentle with yourself ❤
thank you and so sorry for the loss of your dear father. Sounds like you have been left with some wonderful memories of a lovely man. Sleep will come. take care
Dear Wendy, I’m sorry to hear about your dog. Mine is lying right here with her head on my leg so I know how beloved they are to us. I’m glad that beautiful camping experience brought you comfort.
👋 Thanks for sharing your set-up with the new "nest" insert. It looks like a great idea and reminds me somewhat of a bike tent I've had for years, but on a much smaller scale. 😓 I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your pet friend, it does take quite a bit of time to adjust to their being gone. I say adjust because I don't believe we ever "get over" losing them. We do still have the memories, though. 😊 Your upcoming adventures sound like fun, I'll be waiting to hear how it all goes. 👍
I know what it is like to loose your 4 legged companion, you have my deepest sympathies. I appreciate your videos., from one outdoor ole lady to another, HA!
I’m very sorry to hear that Harley has passed, but I’m sure he had a wonderful life with you. It’s good that you’re finding solace in nature and a healthy distraction testing new gear. Your spirit seemed lighter and brighter in the morning. ☀️Take care and enjoy all your upcoming adventures!
I bought this tent plus the nest based off this video ❤ I have a 2 person hot tent but it only has a partial inner and no headspace, I’m excited to install the stove Jack and test it out this winter ❤ thanks Wendy for the overview that helped me make my decision!!! Watching and solo camping in Northern Arizona 🙂
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I am not sure if I will install the stove jack yet. Just came back from a very wet trip and found having the nest was wonderful. All dry inside!!
So sorry about Harley, Wendy! We put our two girlies, a German shepherd and a chorkie, to sleep last year and still miss them. Really love your wonderful videos ❤
So very sorry about your old boy - hard to let go ❤. Here's to time in nature in the Nest! Thanks for sharing your outing. Your videos are so peaceful. Take care, Wendy. It does take time to heal.
I am new here, and am really enjoying your videos. You share your skills so clearly. The peace of the outdoors that you show us is done in an excellent manner. Im turning 68, and am now encouraged to get back out and camp again. Thanks! Mike in TX
Hello Mike and welcome to this channel- I am very happy to have you come along on my little adventures. I encourage you to give it a try- Just consider making modifications to suit your needs and comfort. it is meant to be fun!
I had to let my old lab Lacie go a few yrs back.yea, she stole my heart too. Her ashes will go with me as well as our Norwegian forest cat, Fluffy. Now ,as I am 70, i just have cats.easier to take of.
Hello Wendy, so sorry for your loss. You are my soulmate from Canada. I am 65 years old, live in Spain, and go camping and hiking alone outdoors in nature as often as possible.
Wendy, thinking of you and hoping that nature heals your heart as your grieve Harley. Our souls are touched in extraordinary ways by our furry companions, they are so loved and dearly missed when they move on.
Nice tent. But I can not take it with me on my bicycle ... I am glad there are smaller, lighter weight tents, still with both inner mesh tent and waterproof outer 'fly'.
I am sorry for the loss of your dog, pets are such comfort to us. But like you mentioned, he had a long and happy life. Thanks for the video, looks like you have a great tent, one that would be perfect for me. You showing your gear helps us to decide what we need. And, the next several weeks sounds so good for you, hope you all have good weather and enjoy all of it.
Oh, Wendy. I'm so glad you were able to let nature pour a healing balm on your broken heart. Your wee nest looks just about perfect. All your summer adventures sound wonderful! I look forward to hearing all about them.
So sorry for your loss. It is so difficult letting go of a trusted friend. Your camping therapy is a lovely way to restore your balance. Thank you for your videos. They make me happy.
I’m very sorry for your loss of Marley. I still listen for toenails and watch the doors for escapees. It’s been awhile. May your memories bring you Peace ❤️🕊
Hello Anita. I did a short on the fire starters. super easy- Paper egg carton filled with dryer lint. pour wax over the lint. Cut the carton into sections and there you go. Works like a charm. thanks for your thoughts on our Harley- we will miss him for a long time.
Thank you Wendy for sharing your outdoor camping adventures. You are such an inspiration to me for so many reasons. I hope you have a great fun backpacking trip with your family and my condolences for the loss of your dog.
We lost our Rose last December 18th. I still weep for her, I don't want another dog. I can't deal with the loss. Loved this adventure 😊 thank you, Wendy.
Sending comfort during your grieving process for your sweet friend. 💚 Dogs are everything to me and I understand how painful the loss can feel. Big hugs Wendy you bring so much joy and we send it all back to you. 🫶🏻🌲🐶
What a fine furry friend Harley has been, and I suspect he enjoyed his time with you and your family very much. Nature, being in the outdoors at times of grief and recovery helps a lot I have found. It can really tune you into that mystery and magic that exists in the world ... (in the way that five minutes of scrolling daily news can leave you feeling despair). Wishing you and your family lots of beautiful and gentle happy memories as you begin this next chapter.
sorry for your loss, This is the life, just remember the happy days with him. I love your adventures. You inspired me to live my life and enjoy even when I am by myself. ❤
Thank you Wendy, love the nest. Your meals were yummy looking, and Im excited for your backpack trip. Always enjoy the peace your videos bring to me. For every time you miss Harley, may it be replaced with a moment of the love he brought to you.🥰 ⚘️
Deep condolences for the loss of your dear dog. Your videos mean so much to me as I've been stuck at home for many years so thank you very much. I love how confident, independent and skillful you are.
I'm curious about your shade. Is it the triangle type ? Great vid ! I nearly 60 avid camper sold my trailer and got a truck tent 😊 back to my initial love of camping and love your content. New subby, nice to meet ya!
I am not quite sure what you mean by shade. Did you mean tent shape? If so, it is a teepe style. If you meant the tarp it is a 8x10 rectangle. Thanks very much for subbing . really apprecaited and welcome.
@@susnorth40 I did do video in a rain warning earlier this year- the tent itself did not leak at all but because I had no floor and the ground was so hard I had to dig trenches to keep water out- I don't think there is a perfect tent for all occasions . Just look at what you normally have to do and go from there. Many outdoors folks have more than 1 tent because of ever changing conditions . think about your needs and seasons and go from there. It is a challenge for sure.
that is a very old kitty. Such a huge part of your life for sure. I completely understand why it would take a long time to heal. We never forget our furry friends. thank you
@wendyoutdoors2230 You're so welcome. I am a new subscriber from Ontario. I absolutely love your channel. I hope to be doing exactly what you are doing, well, the adventure part, to be sure . The filming is a huge job as well. You make it look easy. There's nothing like a great book one can relish when we relax .Yes, my Josephine was up there. It's such a privilege to have these creatures who give us every bit of unconditional love.Dr. Andrew Jones , Veterinary Secrets on RU-vid saved me so much money on holistic treatments. He's from BC as well .I look forward to sharing more of your adventures, Wendy. 💖 Michele.
I'm so sorry that Harley left this world. I know you gave him the very best life a dog could live. I'm glad you have a healthy way to work through your grief.
There she is!!!! Well, Wendy we have our first tent since just before the accident. Thinking about maybe going next week! Thank you so much for your continued inspiration!!! We are so very sorry for the loss of your pup, our sincere condolences go out to you and your husband. Gentle hugs to you dear lady.
