Love being outdoors? I am excited to share my best experiences with you whether it be camping, canoeing, cooking , hiking or travelling in our RV. My goal is to encourage all people to try to get out there in whatever capacity you can regardless of your age ,ability or gender. The outdoors has something magical to offer all of us. Please join me on my adventures whether large or small. There are opportunities for challenges or deep rest. For me the outdoors is a place of infinite discovery as well as my source of restoration, personal peace and joy.
so good to see you again, Wendy! I am so sorry to hear about your fur baby! they are our family and mean the world to us. They are family. God Bless and watch over you as you heal. 😇🥰🦮
I've loved camping since the 70s. I'm a bit young to feel this old (spine problems, walk with cane), but still make campfires in my yard. Your beach mini-camp with the eagle yakkin in the background is so awesome!
Kayaking, camping, dealing with wildlife: not a problem for anyone who's spent time outdoors. But how do you get the boat loaded back onto the car/truck for the trip home?
Now THAT is my idea of a camping trip. I felt absolute joy watching you and almost felt like I was there with you. Thank you for sharing, and may you have many many more to share in years ahead.
I'm 67 but decided in my 40s to make two or three nights out my absolute minimum trip length. To me, waking up in nature knowing I'll need to pack up and leave that day feels psychologically very different, much less restful, than waking up with at least a full day and another night ahead. It's harder to forget life's challenges and responsibilities when they're going to be in your face again within hours. I like to immerse in nature in the moment and let anything else fade far from my thoughts. Besides that, it takes only a little longer to prep and pack for, say, three nights versus one night. Also important, the drive to a trailhead or launch point is whatever it is; so why not stay out longer and up your returns on the packing effort and travel time and environmental cost?
I'm age 65 and retired a couple of years ago. I just came across your channel as I want to start backpacking again. Nothing to extreme, I just want to get out in nature and can't get anyone else interested. Your channel has great information. Having done a little bit of video myself, I'm impressed by your sound quality, especially in windy conditions. I'm curious to know what you are using for your audio and video?
I cannot paddle a canoe any longer. I cannot walk more than a half-mile over a decent trail. I have all the equipment and fire/shelter/cooking skills and could still enjoy time outdoors in good or evil weather. But...I have to be a full-time caregiver.
that is huge responsibility. I know I could be in the same situation or I could become the one needing care. Life is unpredictable for sure. I hope you can somehow find moments of joy in nature James. ❤️
No one cares where I am, what I'm doing, or where I'm going, so I don't bother with that "safety protocol." I'm the only one I can count on, so it's who I count on & always have (except God, who's always watched over & taken care of me my whole life). 😊
thanks for coming along- everything I have learned about making a you tube channel I have found on Your tube. If you want to try it is there for you. give it a go!

I love the simplicity of your life camping. I just turned 60 and started hiking here in California. I'm enjoying watching your videos on this too hot to hike summer day!
I enjoyed watching you. It looks like you had a wonderful time. You had some peace and quiet and I think it was very nice. I’m not sure where you are located. What state but I’m here in Turner Maine. If I see your again, I will watch you again God bless.
Hello Ed, I hope you have a great retirement- I hope you too can get out and do some fun adventures. None have to be major, just get out there and enjoy.
I’m so sorry about your dog - they are such wonderful companions 💕 Made me cry as we had to say goodbye to our 14 and 1/2 yr old dachshund 2 yrs ago and I still miss him even though we do have another dog. Very nice tent you have and it’s always good to see what and how you are cooking. Good therapeutic trip. Will be so much fun to hear about your backpacking trip!
I know what it is like to loose your 4 legged companion, you have my deepest sympathies. I appreciate your videos., from one outdoor ole lady to another, HA!
Sincerest Sympathy on the loss of Harley….i lost my Milo after 15 years, 1 month & 16 days, so I know that bullet 😢. 7 months later I rescused a 10 year old terrier mix that lost her people and it has been great for both of us. Lifting you in prayer 🙏🏻 I would love to know your hiking wear as well, if you could include that in your gear vid
I’m so sorry for your loss. I too lost my Maxx in February at 14 yrs and 8 months. It’s so very hard. I’m glad you could be out and nature to start to heal. Your nest looks amazing. I’m sure you’ll enjoy many cozy nights in it. Sending healing prayers to you.
