We decided to cruise to the San Juans for the night. We spent the night at Echo Bay. Tried out our dinghy for the first time. Stay tuned for more adventures with us on our Ranger Tug R27.

I loved this video; it showcased a variety of the things that make Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands a cruising paradise: nice waters, many types of pleasure boats, a Coast Guard cutter, Washington State ferries, a float plane... Truly something for everyone. (The last time I was there on my brother's Ranger Tugs R-29 (the classic model) we saw several otters and seals, but sadly no orcas.)

Thank you!! We captured some grey whales last Sunday on camera on the Northwest side of Hat Island headed over towards Langley. Super exciting!

4:50 That's the Island Class cutter Cuttyhunk, out of Port Angeles. Looks good for a 30+ year old vessel.

how did you dock at echo bay? thought it was max 26' boat length there?

We anchored in Echo bay. There is no limit of length for anchoring. Being a state park, the mooring balls have a limit of 45' or less. Dock's don't have a length limit that I'm aware of.

Do you need a extra long shaft kicker or would a long shaft be good enough. Reason is I want to use it for the tender as well.

Thanks for watching! The F300 uses a 30" shaft, the T9.9 kicker has a 25" shaft. The T9.9 would be heavy to move around I would think. We have a Yamaha 2.5HP for our dingy (35lbs), easier to move around.
