I've also stayed in that ice hotel on an assignment for the Guardian. It was awesome. Everyone I was with got really pissed in that bar as we had our own bottles of vodka, as the prices in the bar were really high. I woke up naked in my room on top of the animal skin rug unable to remember how I got there. Thankfully I wasn't frozen and had a great nights sleep. When I went for breakfast I was greeted by everyone else who were all grumpy and still shivering cold as they had not slept due to the cold and the fear of freezing overnight. There is something delicious about drinking in the cold out of them frozen glasses. Great experience.

Went to lapland once, great few days, even this grumpy old English man felt the Christmas cheer. I've always wondered what it's like during the summer, supposed to be mosquito heaven and apparently great for mountain biking.
